Our family just finished enjoying a 10 day vacation at the Barcelo Solymar. We staying in a family duplex and it did not disappoint. The resort unfortunately due to bad publicity of the whole country was only operating at half capacity but we not once were short on anything and made getting a spot at one of the pools quite easy. The food was delicious (can be a bit repetitive but who doesn't love pizza and pasta). The buffet was always full of chicken (legs and thighs), beef pieces (my favorite and super tender) cheese, charcuterie meats and always pizza and different pastas. The beach speaks for itself and the proximity of being right in town was another huge perk. We will be returning. The only draw back and it only applied to myself not the kids of husband, I was bitten a lot by the sand flies and of course forgot to bring bug spray. That is completely out of anyone's control.

I had a very very happy experience in Barcelo Solymar last week . For 7 days staying , I only paid $749 . So there is nothing to complain for that price . I brought my own towels. I like to clean my room all by myself. So I don't need room service most times. I go there only for beach , sunlight and grounding earth energy . I am not there for food or room service . BTY , the lobby in Barcelo Solymar is the best design I have ever seen. With so many lush beautiful Golden Pothos , I am sure the air in the lobby is very clean because Golden Pothos can purify air very well .
