Valeria and Alejandro were the best butlers! 5 star service!!! Best food, best rooms, the pools were amazing. Inspira service is worth it!

Our visit to Atelier Playa Mujeres was, overall, a great experience. This was our second stay and the reason we came back is because of the staff. The property is great and the food is amazing but the reason to return is the people who work there. The food: amazing. There is such a variety and the quality of food and presentation is incredible. The room: not up to the standard that is should be maintained at. We decided to upgrade to a corner King Suite with a private pool. The room is very large with room to spare. The room was not well maintained. We could not use the shower until the maintenance team made repairs. This should have been done before we arrived and it was a clearly known problem. The shower head was laying on the floor when we arrived. The unit that holds it had broken and was unusable. We had a conversation with our butler, Hiram, after our first morning's shower and he had it repaired before we returned to the room from the pool. We couldn't ask for a better response. We made the mistake of not requesting our room on a higher floor. We were stuck in a back corner on the lowest level which defeats the purpose of the private terrace and pool. The upgrade was not worth the cost due to this. There is no sunshine that reaches room 3141. If we choose this type of room again, which is unlikely, we will make sure to request a higher floor. However most of these types of suites are on the shaded, north side of the complex. Afternoon sun is the best that can be expected from this type of room. The staff: On our first trip to Atelier, we fell in love with the staff. They are so accommodating, kind, generous, and personable. This is why we returned. We requested Hiram as our butler. This is the BEST decision we made in returning! He is an amazing person and we consider him a friend. His partner, Emmanuel, was just as helpful and kind. When we return, it will be because of them. For this trip we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary. Multiple times we came back to our room to a surprise set up by Hiram and Emmanuel. One night we had rose pedals leading to a drawn bubble bath with champaign and strawberries, that further led into the room where balloons and other surprises were set up to celebrate our anniversary. What a wonderful perk! Additionally, Javier, who is both a concierge at the beach, in the Inspira area, as well as an evening butler was beyond amazing. He would greet us by name, he never forgot our suite number, and always wanted to talk and share his experiences with us. He made us feel welcome and cared for. I think that he epitomizes what the Atelier strives to achieve in customer service. Luis at Mercado 19 took care of us at breakfast most mornings. Whenever he had room in his section, we requested him. What a treat it was to be under his care. When he wasn't there we found him in the juice bar. He welcomed us by name and stopped to talk to us. This is our second year with him and he remembered us from the year before by sharing his well remembered experiences with us. We had several servers at both the main pool and the Inspira pool that went above and beyond to take care of us. We feel bad because we don't remember all of their names but behind the bar or out at the pool they were wonderful. The ENTIRE staff in Maria Dolores was fantastic. We celebrated our 20th anniversary there. They were so sweet and helpful in explaining each dish, helping us pick out the food that would work best for us and the drinks that were best suited to each course. Days after that meal, we would run into different wait staff somewhere in the complex, not in the restaurant, and they would greet us by name! It made us feel so welcome! The cleaning and turndown service staff were beautiful, kind, lovely people. They greeted us by name, worked efficiently, and didn't miss a thing. There is a head bartender at Bar Detalle that gives classes on mixology and tastings. While we don't remember his name, he remembered ours. He exudes happiness and loves what he does. That rubs off and at the end of a long day, and a long week of late nights he gave us his joy and made us feel so good! Just the best persons! Problems: We had a couple of difficult interactions with staff. The first was on the beach in the Inspira area. We were waiting to order drinks and food but the server never came. He helped literally everyone around us but never stopped at our bed. What we realized is that he was dealing with very demanding and rude people. He did his best but that left us out. That caused us to leave and walk to Bikini Azul for lunch. We wanted to order lunch at the beach at 12:30pm but by 2pm we hadn't had a visit from the concierge. However, at Bikini Azul we were waited on by Gerardo. This man exudes joy. He fixed everything without knowing it. We ate, we drank and we felt whole again! Next, we ran into issues at the Don Fernando Lobby Bar. We were sitting at the bar but were completely ignored by the wait staff for about an hour. Again, this was because of other rude and demanding clients that kept pushing their way in to order. The staff did the best that they could, but because we will not be rude or demanding, we were left out. Both of these situations were discussed with our butler, Hiram, who suggested that we talk to management. When we did, we NEVER experienced another problem. We didn't use anyone's name, just our experience and location. The staff work so hard to accommodate everyone, including difficult clientele. But we could immediately sense a difference and we felt comfortable again. Entertainment: There is so much entertainment to be found at Atelier. From the entertainers that are at the pool, musicians, sports staff, and others to the staff at Detalle or Bar De Calle that exude happiness and creativity, we always felt entertained and made real connections with people, both clientele and staff. Then the entertainment in El Deseo, the night club, was fun and exciting. The acrobatic show is wonderful, the dancers for the Latin night or the Pop night were so much fun. There is always something to do and be entertained by, and when we ran out of energy, there were always staff that had it for us. We could just sit in the lobby and listen to a celloist or in the building 3 lobby and listen to the pianist. The quality of musician was great and that led to many opportunities to talk with other travelers. This is not in our comfort zone as we are very introverted, but we made real connections with other folks because of these opportunities when relaxing. Final comments: We will return to Atelier, but we will be making a few requests after booking our room. Otherwise we will be looking forward to seeing the amazing staff and eating the wonderful food.

No matter your expectations, Atelier will surpass them. They think of everything before you even know you need or want it. Webster in several AI resorts across Mexico. The food is always the same. Good, but not great. If other resorts’ food is a 6, Atelier is a 9.5. From Michelin star Maria Dolores, to Las Abrazos, to the poolside joints, to the pop-up taco cart, it’s amazing. If you’re there on Saturday night, you MUST go to Mercado 19 for the traditional Mexican food affair. Authentic and spectacular. But far and away, our best experience came from our butlers Rodolfo and Yareni. They answered questions before we knew to ask them. And they took care of every single whim and fancy. The room had special gifts, hot baths, and decorations for both our anniversary and my birthday. They are truly, genuinely kind. We have already requested them for our next visit. Atelier is far and away our favorite resort we’ve ever been to in Mexico, after 11 trips down here. I don’t know that we will ever stay anyplace else. I can’t recommend this place enough.

As always, we had an ultimate experience at Atelier Playa, Mujeres.. Food excellent, drinks amazing, facilities outstanding, service impeccable. Everyone is so friendly and kind. Our butler, Hiram is beyond any expectation! He is attentive, funny, kind, and our favorite person there!

My sister and I stayed here for a few days in January for a birthday trip. We loved it! It was absolutely perfect for a quick sister getaway. Different pools for different vibes, the gym is well appointed, the food was fantastic, and everyone was super kind. Rooms are great! We like a quieter vibe so we were off to building 3, which we loved. If you want to be more in the mix building 1 or 2 are the ones for you!
