6.8/10 resort but the staff made it feel like a 9/10.

Hipolito at the Mexican restraunt was amazing. Probably the best waiter we’ve ever had including Chicago restraunts where we live. He was extremely kind and we hope he gets a promotion or something similar asap. Guerrmo the somliar was awesome for the tequila tasting he clearly really enjoys what he does and showed us a great time. The resort was overall cool but some of the cuts of steak/beef were meh and the general store was extremely stupidly overpriced, the sunscreen was $40 and sunglasses were $150. At that point just Uber anything else you would need instead of going there.

Cristina was very helpful. She helped me and my friends find the perfect room for our vacation. Her level of hospitality was 5 star!

Amazing resort, food was so good, staff were so helpful and friendly. Its a small resort , only draw back only one pool , so there was a lot of children in the adult pool with their parents instead of the kids pool. Resort was so clean. Loved our experience there
Great vacation

We just got home yesterday from Sunscape Resort and had an absolutely amazing time! We were a group of 16 adults, and from start to finish the trip was such a great experience. The food was fantastic and the service was even better. The buffet always had plenty of options, and the omelettes were seriously amazing — definitely a highlight every morning! We were so impressed with the variety and quality throughout our stay. A huge shout-out to a few staff members who truly stood out. Miscal at the lobby bar makes the best espresso martinis and always greeted us with a smile. Daniel and Big Mac around the pool were absolutely awesome — those poor guys were run off their feet most days, but they were always attentive, ready with our drinks, and even took the time to get to know us and what we liked. Their energy and friendliness really made our days by the pool extra special. The beach is beautiful — the sand is so white and soft. It was windy most of the time, so there were quite a few waves, but we still enjoyed getting in the water. The main pool was good, though we do wish it had been a bit bigger since kids tended to take over at times, and there didn’t seem to be many using the kids’ pool. The resort itself is very clean — you constantly see staff cleaning and maintaining the property. The coffee and candy shop were great additions, and our room was spotless with no issues at all during our stay. We felt completely safe the entire time. We even took the bus to Isla Mall to go shopping and visit the aquarium, which was a fun outing. One thing to note: chair saving is definitely a thing. If you don’t get down before 8 a.m. to save chairs, you might have a hard time finding one. We only had an issue one day, but we made it work since we spent most of our time in the pool anyway. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and absolutely worth going. We made some great memories.
50th birthday celebrations

Booked via expedia and traveled with westjet from Calgary to meet friends from the UK to celebrate our 50th birthdays. Flights were great on the dreamliner plane. We booked MTS private transportation from Cancun airport and this was our only hiccup as the instructions were to find the people in Blue and white shirts, but they have rebranded to pink and white. A 10 min search was the only issue. The resort is ideally located in the hotel zone only 20 mins drive away. WOW, what a resort! We truly couldn't have picked a better place. We had ocean view room, junior double suite which has a king bed and double bed, perfect for us and two brothers to share a bed. The beds were very comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean. The daily service, fresh towels, fridge restock was great. The shower was powerful and hot and plenty of room. There could be some more storage in the rooms for clothes. Extra hangers were provided when we asked. The size of the resort is what we really liked. Everything seemed to be at touching distance. Having stayed at the Barcelo palace previously, that place was massive, this had a nice feel to it, the staff were all very friendly and courteous, they worked extremely hard everyday to make sure we all had a great time. The main lobby serves as the hub of the resort, the restaurants and bar are all there so its a hive of activity. The pools are also located either side of this, kids one side and everyone else the other. There were plenty of beds around the pool and on the beach, we always got beds and 8 of them together. There are cabanas for rent daily and it was a nice treat for our final day but make sure to pre book them. The beach itself was perfect, pure white sand hardly any seaweed, it was cleaned up quickly if it did wash up and miles and miles of walking in either direction. The entertainment team were great! Always something happening around the pool or on the beach. The hotel has an App that you download on arrival and it has every bit of information on it. All the daily and nightly activities, menus for the restaurants etc so you always know what to do. We are (football) soccer fans and they have two huge screens in the bar that they always changed the channels and got our games on, it was never an issue. The food and drinks. The bars had everything you need. There is a premium service that you can pay extra for, I like Jack Daniels for example, which was a premium drink, but they had Jim Beam which is just the same so it didnt bother me that much. All the gins and vodkas were named brands and you could get names beers, bud, coors etc or just the local beer on tap, all good and cold. The restaurants, this was different to any other place ive been to. The buffet was great, plenty of options and themed nights. Breakfast and lunch was great too. They also have dedicated restaurants that are first come first serve. You do not book a table which was nice because you could decide on the night where you wanted to eat. We had to wait an hour or so each night but we planned for that, got to the restaurant for 6, put our name down, and went to the bar for some drinks. The Italian was our favorite, a good atmosphere and nice décor. The sunset bar and Asian restaurants next and then the Mexican, purely because that just wasn't our style. They also had a burger bar and ice cream shop and cafe open throughout the resort and a pop up lunch spot at the pool serving tacos and ribs (delicious) Would i go back? 100% would i recommend it 100% it was great for families and an ideal location for all ages really, the nightclubs were only a 10 min cab ride away too. Plenty of flee market shopping if you ventured out and like to haggle :) and the golf course is only 10 mins away. Great course and priced pretty reasonable considering all food and drink is included. The rental clubs were brand new Titleist and scotty cameron putters. Now, as good as it was there are always things that can be improved: 1. The lobby and bar area needs more seating. 2. The music in the bar needs to be turned down just a bit, its too loud and distorted on the speakers. 3. The ice cream/sweet shop needs to stay open longer, 7pm is too early to close, or add it to the cafe area so its open 24/7. 4. Move the north side pool cabanas from the pool side towards the hotel. This would allow all of the sunbed users, access to watch the entertainment. The people who rent the cabanas would still be able to see as they are higher up. You can leave the south side cabanas pool side for those who wish to rent right next to the pool. 5. Nightly entertainment, you need to promote that more! The shows were great but not everyone knew where to go to watch them. I would also suggest running the silent DJ night more than once a week. That was the best and busiest night in the bar, so much fun!! Thank you Sunscape for an unforgettable vacation, I'm very happy we chose to celebrate our milestone birthdays with you.
