Insect Infestation
Stephanie A on Feb 21, 2026
This was our second stay at Caribe Royale and will definitely be our last. I *wanted* to like this place, but we've just had too many negative experiences. On our first stay, our child was injured by broken furniture in the room and housekeeping stole several items from us, but it was our second stay that pushed us over the edge. After a long day at the park, we returned to our Villa suite and quickly got our youngest to bed because we had a tour scheduled early the next morning. Afterwards, I went into the master bedroom and found that insects had rapidly infested our room, including the bed. It was NOT a small amount of bugs, and the more we killed, the more appeared. My husband went to the front desk to speak with the manager and the only thing she would offer was to have us move rooms, with no assistance, and no compensation; it really did not seem like she cared. After some pushback on my husband's part, she said she could give us $200 off for the night, which wasn't even half a night's compensation, and stated that was absolutely all she was willing to do. It took us hours to pack up all the belongings we had brought for a 10-day stay (including a fridge and freezer full of groceries), wake up our youngest child, take all three of our kids and our pet to a different building, unpack, and then get the kids back to bed. It was a massive inconvenience that took up our entire evening and left everybody exhausted the next day. If we're paying hundreds of dollars for a room so that we can be rested and enjoy our vacation, it shouldn't come with an insect covered bed and the requirement that we spend hours moving our belongings and our sleeping children. This hotel is just too big to care about individual customers. It feels like a drive-thru, where they don't care if you leave, because somebody else will be there next.
Pool is consistently closed for private parties
Nadia B on Feb 20, 2026
In the week that we have been here the entire pool area has been closed off twice, on the hottest days, due to private parties. We had planned a day by the pool today as it’s too hot to visit the parks but it is closed again. We have been offered no explanation about why we weren’t pre-warned about this and have been given no apology or compensation. The hotel itself is nice but we booked for the pool and haven’t been able to use it. We could’ve stayed somewhere much cheaper if all we wanted was a place to sleep. The bus to the parks runs late everyday too. I’m unsure what the resort fee is for. It’s a shame as we like the hotel and the pool area is beautiful, it’s just a shame we’re not allowed to use it! It seems extremely greedy of the hotel to make money out of the hotel guests and then also rent the pool out. If you want anything more than a place to sleep avoid this hotel.
