Lush Paradise, but the "No Pressure" Sales Pitch is a Lie
msturg29 (Forest Lake, Minnesota) on Dec 20, 2025
Coming from 2-degree weather in Minnesota, the Sheraton Vistana was a tropical dream. The grounds are gorgeous—lush and green with tons of wildlife like turtles, cranes, and ducks. We loved the pools and the pickleball courts. Our room was very clean, and the screened-in patio was a huge plus for enjoying the air without the bugs. The hot tub was a perfect relaxation spot, and the showers were nice and hot. The Lowlights: The kitchen was a bit under-stocked for cooking, but the real downside was the sales presentation. We were promised a "no pressure" experience, but it was the exact opposite. The representative was friendly until we declined the offer; at that point, they became aggressive and visibly angry. It was unprofessional and honestly put a damper on the rest of our trip. Verdict: The resort is a great deal if you get a discounted rate, but be warned: the sales pitch is high-pressure. If you go, stay firm and don't let the sales team ruin your vacation.
Parking costs as much as it does at Disney!
Scott D (Ozark, Alabama) on Dec 15, 2025
We're repeat travelers to this property. I love the rooms back in the Falls section. They're older, but they're spacious, and quiet. The kitchen is well-appointed and there are twin beds in the second bedroom for kids. I also appreciated the relatively low rate for the accommodations, especially at this time of the year when the Disney Parks are hosting so many special activities (Cheer & Dance Competitions, RunDisney races, Very Merry Christmas Parties and Jollywood Nights). What I did NOT appreciate was being charged $30 per night to park my car. Come on! Bump up the price of the room by $30 and make parking complimentary. You've really devalued by Marriott points by doing this. Even if I pay with points, I'll still wind up paying $30 per night. or more if I have more than one vehicle. The whole idea of monetizing parking at a hotel stinks. I shelled out enough money in parking fees that it's going to seriously affect my decision on whether or not to return. Also, you're trying just a little too hard to get me to attend your vacation ownership presentation. I'm well-aware of how vacation ownership works and I'm not interested. I'd rather rent than buy. Please don't make me receive a solicitation to attend the presentation under the guise of "they'll issue your parking pass." Doubly so if you're going to make me PAY for parking. If I'm now paying an exorbitant $30 per night, per vehicle, my parking pass should be issued at the time of check-in, and NOT by the person trying to get me to agree to a vacation ownership presentation. Will I return? I don't know. Honestly, the parking wound up costing me an extra night's worth of accommodations. It's changed my attitude about this place from "This is always where we want to stay" to "I don't know if it's worth it or not." I hope that's worth the parking revenue, Marriott.
