Bad place to spend your vacation !!
Ranjana W on Jan 02, 2026
This place looks good. Nice pools, easy access to beach, clean beds but horrible customer service at front desk or any guest services. Impossible to get diner reservations , so we had to eat at the buffet all five days. We spent hours with no water supply and electricity . Good amount of time spent in line ups for food and drinks . Guest services had no solutions to any problem. Long walks to rooms because they do not have elevators in each building. We heard so many people complaining !

They won’t let you visit your friends without paying a fee to go in even if you don’t want to use the amenities. Tried to help carry our friend’s groceries to there room then leave but that is not allowed as well. I would say this place does not want people to enjoy there holidays Oh welll there are much better places in puerto Vallarta to visit!!

First time in puerto Vallarta and was there for a birthday celebration. The hotel is all inclusive. The hotel lobby is connected to what I would call the main building/pool/beach access area and then there’s a bridge you cross to go to another building (Mountainside). Mountainside has a pool with a bar next to it, not a swim up bar, a cevicheria that is open only for two hours (but honestly the best place to grab lunch is there as long as you like seafood), and another dining area that was open for breakfast dinner. There are 4 restaurants that open for dinner that you need to make reservations in order to dine there, all in the main building. The resort has a church which does have a daily mass if interested in going. The main pool area is big and has a bar that you can swim to and order but not a swim up bar that you normally think of where the bartender is at the same level as you. This one the bartender is at ground level so above you and the stools for the bar have you sitting above the water. Also if at any of the pools you have to have a cup that has a lid in order to have your drink in the pool. So if you go to this hotel bring yourself a reusable cup with a lid. Or you can get one from the little pool shop they have right next to the pool. There is a snack bar near the pool area. It has hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, fries, and chicken nuggets. Asked for a hamburger with cheese, was given a room temperature burger with a freshly unwrapped slice of cheese thrown on top and a bun that was much bigger than the patty. The burger had not flavor. The pool towels you can only get them at the main pool with your pool card for each person, so that everyone only gets one towel and they take the towel cards from you until you come back with the towels and then they give you the towel cards back. One day we go over to get towels, with our two towel cards in hand, and the towel lady asks for our name and room number, we give it to her and she says we can’t get new towels because we still have the towels from the previous day. We then say we returned them and show her our towel cards in hand and ask her to explain how we have our cards back if we didn’t return the other towels? She looks at us, suspiciously and almost reluctantly gives us towel, as if we were trying to pull one over on her. The hotel itself is nothing special, it was generally clean but definitely in need of upgrades and cosmetic repairs. Our group was all placed on the Mountside. We had a single room suite which was very spacious for two people. It had a little living room with a coffee table, couch, and three chairs and a tv. A dining area with a table and four chairs and a dresser. A kitchenette with a breakfast bar and stools, as well as a refrigerator. The bedroom was a king size bed with a closet, dresser and tv. Access to the bathroom was both from the bedroom and living room. We were not given remote controls for either tv and when we called the front desk to tell them we never had any dropped off. Which obviously on vacation you’re not there to watch tv but sometimes it’s nice to be able to watch something before bed. Our room didn’t come with a do not disturb sign so when we called the front desk to let them know we also told them we did not want the room to be cleaned that day. Front desk said they would get us a sign and tell the cleaning team they could skip our room. Neither of those things happened. So the next day when we saw someone from housekeeping we asked them directly if they had a sign, luckily they did, but then we were asked if we had a sign or if we had asked the front desk. I explained that we didn’t have a sign and that the front desk knew we didn’t have a sign but never brought one up to us. The air conditioning unit was spitting out enough water on the living room that it would create a puddle. The bathroom shower only had a partial glass cover but the other half that was open would get the spray from the water out and onto the floor. The hotel gave you two free water bottles, just regular plastic bottles, in the room and had a note stating that if you wanted more water to reuse the plastic bottle to refill it at one of the water stations they had at the hotel, and each refill would cost 20pesos. We just went to the corner store and bought ourselves a big jug of water to be able to drink/use for our stay. Our one group of friends was staying in a two bedroom suite with 5people in it and when they called the front desk to get water, there was nothing in their room, the front desk told them they would bring it up to them, which they did but only brought up two bottles. When our friends called the front desk to ask if they could please bring up three more bottles since there were 5people staying in the room the front desk said they couldn’t do that because then that’s extra water for the room which they would then need to pay for. The rooms all had outdated furniture and all needed a fresh coat of paint and some repairs. The men managing the lobby with the luggage and calling taxis were all so nice and friendly. The wait staff, depending on who you got they were attentive and friendly. The front desk is really where this hotel is lacking to say it nicely. They clearly cannot relay messages to the other staff members, they were not helpful in anyway (we had a situation with a taxi driver that we wanted some insight on and we were told “that’s your problem not ours”. We weren’t looking for them to solve it just to give us information and were standing to their “it’s your problem not ours” statement because they’re not affiliated with the taxis), when checking out they didn’t want to give us an itemized copy of our bill because they said that we should have received it when we checked in, which we never did and if we had and wanted another copy not sure why it would be such a big deal to give us a copy of what we just paid for. The front desk employee went to tell their manager about our request and again were told we should have gotten one at check in and we told the manager we didn’t get one and if we could please have one, to which the manager exchanged looks with their employee and said they would print one out for us as a courtesy. How giving us a copy of our bill is a courtesy is beyond me. Nothing about the requests we made were unreasonable and yet we were made to feel like we were annoying them or in the wrong for asking such things. And trust me there was no language barrier, the group can understand and speak Spanish. Canto Del Sol Puerto Vallarta, there was nothing that really made me sing any praises for you.
