Service is amazing, Edgar, Daniela, and Ailturo are always working hard to get you your drinks. The food is great, and the view of the ocean is also spectacular! Love it here!

This was our third stay at Canto del Sol, and we experienced the usual perfect weather and the wonderful staff who made our vacation better. Carlos Arreoly and Andrea were attentive and kind pool waiters, and we appreciated their great service. The hotel is aging but is in the process of updating and renovating rooms. Our fourth floor room overlooked the pool area and the ocean and was very quiet, with noise from weddings and parties on the pool deck being shut down at 11;00 p.m.. The bed and bath linens were decent quality, and the newer pool towels were, as well. The king mattress was very hard, and the thin foam topper didn't do much to help, but that seems quite typical of the Mexican hotel rooms we have experienced in over 40 years visiting Puerto Vallarta. Maid service was prompt and excellent. It would be nice to have a liquid body soap in the shower instead of the tiny bars of soap that drive my husband crazy. The sink and tub taps are corroded, the rubber tub and sink plugs are ancient and the marble counters and tub are chipped and tired. As usual, there are very few wall plugs in the room so if you need to charge a few devices, bring your own wall plug with slots for a few cords, and if you need a c-pap plugged in, bring a small extension cord since there will likely be only one side of the bed with a wall plug. The buffet food was quite limited in variety, with much of the selection catering to Mexican tastes, which is understandable given the large number of guests that would prefer these choices. I brought my own non-dairy creamers for coffee, since it wasn't possible to have soy or almond milk any more. My husband enjoyed the large prawns cooked for him on the seafood evening, and there was some type of delicious fish cooked every evening. The breakfast omelet station is always good, as is the pasta station. Fresh fruit and veggies are always supplied, as are fresh buns and pastry items. Canto del Sol has a good location, with wonderful staff, from the front desk employees to the pool deck sweepers. Their employees are the biggest asset of this hotel, but renovations are needed to improve the room amenities. We love our PV visits, but will not return to this hotel.

Just got here and the wait staff is top notch. Victor and Enrique gave us superior service and we are so great full. My only disappointment is paying for an upgrade that turned out to be a downgrade. Sunwing's fault... Don't ever book the villas!

Home away from home for many years! Staff are friendly and attentive. Great service from waiters including Victor, Miguel and Lisandro but the best was Fernando at breakfast, sincere and always happy. Had a few issues with the room when we got there but they were handled by Cristobal in a very professional and timely manner. The grounds are beautiful and the food is good. We will be back!
