Bad food, bad service and bad attitudes
LveToTravl (Chicago, Illinois) on Feb 25, 2026
Calling our visit hell would be kind. Terrible food, terrible service. Manager has proven useless to resolve issues. We stayed at the Fives beachfront and came here with hopes of the same encounter. Food is lackluster. If you are not a fish eater very limited menu. Drinks are watered down and not made correctly. Getting you water or wine filled is impossible. Beach chairs are set up like a can of sardines. Go elsewhere -anywhere is better than here. Beach is well below average and filled with sargassum. Save your money
Small hotel/resort, relaxing quiet vibe and friendly staff

The hotel is clean, safe and staff are friendly. Information about facilities and amenities was not readily apparent, some provided online but was not always accurate. We had wanted a smaller resort and it was what we were looking for. Unfortunately our room faced the road, every morning delivery trucks would idle there making it unpleasant to sit on our balcony to enjoy our morning coffee. All inclusive is at serviced restaurants, reservations recommended. food was very good. Plan on a leisurely pace for meals it can be slow.

I wanted to share some feedback about our week-long stay at The Fives Oceanfront Puerto Morelos. The service throughout our visit was truly excellent, and every member of your staff made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. From the front desk staff to the Food and Beverage staff. I especially want to highlight the General Manager, who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and requests, thank you Kenya. To the front desk staff, Lili, Jenny, Leo and Cynthia, thank you for all your help during our stay and how welcoming you were all to our team. Their attention to detail and genuine commitment to ensuring our comfort made a significant difference in our experience. Because of this outstanding level of service, I’m happy to give a full 5-star rating. Thank you for making our stay exceptional and hope to see you again! Maria M
Nice but not Exceptional

My wife and I stayed for a week this February. The food was excellent but never changed. Only two restaurants and the menu never changes - even down to the deserts- very boring for an entire week. Service in the lower restaurant was consistenetly extremely slow - 2 1/2 hour for dinner one night. The Italian restaurant did had great service. Next issue: they just don't have sufficient beach/pool loungers for the number of rooms. You had to be up by 6:30 am to reserve a spot! Not exactly what you want to do on your vacation. Rooms were very nice but the faucets had very worn-off finishes on them. We enjoyed ourselves but no way this place gets a wonderful or exceptional rating. They need a changing menu day to day, more (and smaller) pool/beach loungers, and some fixture upgrades to the bathrooms. Lastly I don't like having to wait for a bill and sign it when I'm "all-inclusive" in a resort. Look at my wrist band, ask for my room number, but no bill for every meal and drink.
The best vacation we have ever had!

This is a fabulous little resort. Highly recommend! The location is phenomenal -- easy flights in and out of Cancun and then a 25 minute ride in a taxi or shuttle - and it's right on the beach. Puerto Morelos is a PERFECT place to visit, especially for our big group, which was 22 adults (40s and 50s) and teenagers (ages 13-18) It was exactly what we were looking for-- the town is small and welcoming, totally low-key, not overly-touristy, with a stunning beach, lots of wonderful food and shops, and the kindest, warmest people. The hotel is great, and the staff at The Fives is top notch. Erika and Alejandra who helped us book activities, Bernice and the team welcoming us, Gustavo who led activities, Missail, Yoe, Stephany, and Gabriel and Luis and Manuel and Kenya (all in food and beverage) were all incredible. We went snorkeling with Benjamin and his team. I am sorry to forget some of the amazing staff, I should have taken notes, but everyone was wonderful. We did all inclusive which was perfect. The meals aren't fast (there is no buffet) but on the rare morning that we were in a rush (we went on an excursion at 9am) they told us what time to arrive and made sure we had plenty of time to eat and not be rushed. It was so nice to not have to think about the bill! And the food is GOOD! From the pop-up taco stand to the cake and coffee in the morning, the fun crafts, the empanadas... there were so many little details that elevated the experience. They helped us plan lovely meals (not easy for a crowd) and everything was incredibly easy, fun, relaxing. We will absolutely return. Thank you to everyone at the Fives for your hospitality!
