Decent experience at Hilton SAN Francisco O farrell

roys2833 on Jan 02, 2026

Staff were welcoming but slight wait on check in at 10.30pm. Disappointed at the charge for receiving small parcel. $5-$10 but can be charged to room or by card. No cash. Was not told beforehand. Libby is lively and good decor. Facilities are ok but cannot use pool or hot tub as it’s winter and cold weather. Dedicated buffet breakfast room was nice but compared to sister property, Parc 55. No omelette or egg station and variety much less compared to Parc 55. Sofa in room and view for skyline was much better compared to Parc 55. Just that I think the sofa in room needs proper cleaning due to constant itchiness. Room amenities are basic. If you want toothbrush/toothpaste or cotton buds, you have to call to ask which I found a bit inconvenient. The roof top bar in Hilton is considered excellent for views and atmosphere. Value for money is iffy. Buffet breakfast in dedicated room without omelette station and no waffles is around $46 after tax and mandatory 18% service charge/tips. Most people buy and take and go from herb kitchen. This property together with Parc 55 are older buildings with Parc 55 being more aged in decor and tend to be quieter. This property charges mandatory $25 destination charge given back as f and B credits but I found the credits to be sufficient daily for one person breakfast only, not two. Location wise, it is close to Powell street and close to town. There is a trader joes 2 blocks away and whole foods and chipotle within walking distance. Macy’s and cheesecake factory are nearby. Large property with many many rooms in place. They also house airline crews. Fitness room and pool but no change room attached and these facilities are located either in basement or 16th floor.

Guest service

Sai Lin A on Dec 13, 2025

As event guests, we did not have access to the elevators, which resulted in us waiting at the front desk for almost 40 minutes just to get our turn. That experience was frustrating and poorly managed. Despite these issues, I would still rate the overall experience 3 stars. However, I was especially disappointed by the interaction with the parking gate attendant at 12:25 AM. When I asked a simple question regarding the parking charge, he was unprofessional, dismissive, and disrespectful, making me feel talked down to rather than assisted. I believe guests should be treated with basic courtesy, especially when issues arise due to event timing and access limitations. I did not stay at the hotel. I was only a guest attending an event and parked using event parking, which we already paid for. However, after the event, we were charged again for an additional hour, even though the event itself did not end until 12:15 AM, and we returned to the parking lot at 12:25 AM. Because of this 10-minute delay caused by the event running late we were required to pay the same parking fee a second time, which feels unreasonable since we had already paid for event parking. I’m requesting a review or adjustment of this charge, as the extra fee resulted from the event schedule, not from extended or overnight parking.
