family friendly hotel

Had a great 8 days at Dreams Vista. If you’re a family who has young kids and want a quiet resort this is perfect. Everything shuts down after the evening entertainment I didn’t hear anyone in the halls or outside when trying to go to sleep, the pool entertainment during the day is tame and appropriate (no gross foam parties or rowdy people taking shots) - it really catered to guests wanting to relax and enjoy time with families BEST part was the kids club. The team who works there - unbelievable! Arts and crafts, games, colouring, pool visits, face painting - my 4 year old was obsessed and never wanted to leave! They also have a family hour where we could bring our toddler. The facility is spotless, very spacious and secure. I loved how clean this resort felt I always saw someone cleaning something at all times. There’s always a staff member sweeping, mopping, cleaning the beach, etc. I noticed the staff at this resort seemed happy and relaxed. Couple things that we felt went out of the way for service - someone (Adrien?) saw my daughters looking at the fish in the lobby and he brought them out fish food to throw to them. So thoughtful. Then when we walked along the beach, a security staff member (can’t remember her full name but it started with an E) collected white roses a bride left behind and handed them to our daughters. Very thoughtful!! My daughter had a bee sting her hand and the staff Medic was so attentive to her, brought her a candy and made the experience overall less scary for her. This is our first time in Cancun we have spent the last 4 years in Cabo. The water is so beautiful, Isla Mujeres was a great day trip but I found this resort very far from anything (compared to Cabo) so we had to taxi. With that said it doesn’t attract a party crowd who wants walking distance to clubs so I appreciated that. Cancun is very windy but it didn’t matter too much because it was desperately hot! The only thing is that I wish the food was better. I loved the coffee shop for lattes and muesli and the Asian restaurant was great but I didn’t love the cocktail options (overly sugary and very watered down) or the poolside sushi/fries/burgers. Not the worst for all inclusive but I expected more. Husband golfed twice and he loved it it was less than $200USD for a round, half the price from Cabo courses! If you book - get the Preferred Club because the rooftop pool is so nice and the check in area is a quiet alternative for snacks and breakfast especially with kids. I would recommend this to friends and I think we will try a Dreams resort again

Came to spend 4 nights with friends. Absolutely wonderful. The pool is stunning and the beach is lovely. They work around the clock maintaining the property. Our room was exceptionally clean and comfortable as well. Excellent staff. We will definitely be back.

The food was subpar. food was cold breakfast, lunch and dinner. the hot plates/ serving pans did not keep food hot nor warm. Drinks were not tasty either. You could not walk to anything off site.Resort looks great .

great hotel for multigenerational relaxing vacations

tanaj2017 (Kelowna, Canada) on Apr 26, 2024

The resort is beautiful and fairly new. It's more of a hotel than a resort because the footprint is fairly small. if you like walking, this is not the place for you. The beach is very small and walking in both directions on the beach is limited. All rooms face the ocean, even the ones farthest away from the ocean have incredible views. The privilege club is worth the extra - the biggest things it gives you is a room on a higher floor (better views) and the rooftop pool, restaurant and bar. Technically, it could be used with kids, but there were no kids while we were there. the other pools are much more suited for kids, so this was a nice quiet adult space. The beds were comfortable, although a bit squeaky (most likely from kids jumping). Most of the restaurants were great. The Italian was terrible - unless they train the wait staff and cooks better, skip this one. After 1 1/2 hours, we still hadn't received our meal, and we had to stop another waiter to ask for the bread that was being delivered to most other tables. We ended up leaving without our meals and getting served within 20 minutes at Blue Water. The Asian restaurant (a la carte) was amazing. Best egg rolls I've had in a while and the sushi was amazing. We were disappointed that we tried this one at the end of our stay - otherwise we would have gone at least twice. The steak house food was really good, but the ambiance was more like a dance club than a classy family steak restaurant. The music was so loud, I had to get my earplugs from our room before dinner. Blue water was our favorite - the wait staff was amazing, they always were watching to make sure to refill our drinks, and the food was really good. The view was amazing - the only thing we didn't like is that the menu is a little limited if we wanted some variety in the adults only setting with the rooftop view for multiple nights. We will definitely come back with our adult sons - perhaps to another dreams since we do like beach walking. But Dreams Vista would be so much fun for young adults / kids / parents / grandparents. There is quite a bit to do for activities for all ages, without the party atmosphere like spring break. Some of the night entertainment could be improved, but the live band was excellent. It was a nicely relaxing vacation, but if you don't have the privilege club access to the adults only pool, there's really only the activity pool or the beach. It does get quite loud at the main pool for limited time frames. The kids pool area does get sun during the day contrary to some reviews and although we didn't have kids with us, it looked like fun for all ages with the surfing wave pools and kids play area.

Thank you!

Thank you to the staff at the Dreams Vista. July in the Spa made our stay. I would come back just for her! I went twice to have Spa services. The Kids club was fantastic. My son loved every minute of being there and made a lot of new friends. The beach was beautiful and very clean. All of the restaurants were excellent. Our favourite was the Asian restaurant, Himitsu. The cheese cake at the Prime resturant was *chefs kiss* One thing if you go with kids who are not great swimmers. Bring a life jacket! The hotel did not have any and the pools were very deep (not really a shallow end). The gift shop had one life jacket and it was $40USD. A little disappointing. Otherwise, fantastic service. Thank you.
