Great experience

Andrew S on Jun 08, 2024

Had a great stay at ÓLEO Playa, would highly recommend to others. Could not speak more highly about Dago at the main bar, from the beginning was extremely friendly and very professional. Dago made the whole experience more enjoyable and deserves the recognition.

It's a big NO

LAVINIA T on Jun 03, 2024

This is my honest review on this hotel. Mr and my husband travel a lot and we've been staying in 4 stars hotels, 3 stars hotels as well, unfortunately I can give this hotel more than 2 maximum 3 stars. We booked a Inspira ocean front room, as I was mesmerised about the photos and the view. We got there, they gave us a room with 2 double beds and a small balcony, but we didn't had the view that we've paid for, we went to reception and asked to be moved to a Inspira room. They moved us to a Inspira room, and as it was quite late and we were very tired after such a long journey we said that we will sleep here and see in the morning what can we solve. I couldn't sleep at all, because of the smell, mould, noise made by the ventilation system in the bathroom. Seriously, I don't know how they legally function this hotel, I'm referring to the ventilation and humidity in the rooms and the smell. In the morning at 5:40, we went to reception, explaining that it's impossible to stay in a room like this, they said that they will see what they can do about the smell( we will send the cleaner to put some room aroma) and that they will fix the battery of the sink which by the way it was literally moving all over the places not saying that was rusty and dirty. The most shocking thing about this hotel is that you can't literally open the windows, I've never seen this in my life, can you imagine the amount of germs, bacteria, fungus etc are there, not surprised that my husband got one from there. How you are cleaning a room without opening the window, it's beyond my understanding, the answer was, we are letting the door opened while we are cleaning. Anyway, we we're moved to another room on level 3, where the smell was a bit more bearable but the bathroom was leaking from the 4th floor and everything was outdated as well. The cleaning was OK ish, they changed towels every day. Regarding the food you can always find something to eat. We didn't use the pools as it was always full of people drinking way too much, and I can imagine that they we're using as a toilet as they we're not moving from the bar for hours. All in all, I do not recommend this hotel, I would never go back, for the amount of money we've paid, I'm sure that you can find something better. We've tried to enjoy as much as we could as it was our first time in Mexico.

4 Perfect Days

Roving20510381701 (New York City, New York) on Jun 01, 2024

Pros: beach (beautiful swimming, great chairs and umbrellas), staff (kind, hard working, and helpful), beach snacks (fish tacos, ceviche, aguachile), diversity of tourists, and only 10 minutes drive from airport. Cons: kids, loud pool area (20 year olds will love it), overpriced gift shop (I forgot sunglasses but didn’t want to break the bank), no water sports equipment (snorkel stuff, kayaks, boogie boards). I very rarely think about the room….we only sleep there. View 5/5. Cleanliness 5/5 Quiet 4/5 (AC little loud but not a deal breaker and I’m sensory sensitive)

Rooms are a let down

Jane J (Bexleyheath, United Kingdom) on Jun 01, 2024

We had three rooms on the 10th floor in block 1. Really disappointed with the room, as very tired and some issues we reported but weren't fixed. Of the three rooms, we had the worst - and I'd paid for everyone's holiday lol. Be warned, the lift only goes to floor nine, then it's a really dodgy flight of stairs up to the 10th - like a 1970s tower block. Lovely views with a massive balcony, but no furniture to sit outside. It didn't really matter though as the sliding door was off the rails and really difficult to open anyway. Also had ropes tied around for workman, who would unexpectedly appear. On a more positive, food was very good. My OH is extremely fussy and I was worried he wouldn't eat for two weeks, but he loved it. The coffee shop was also a real bonus and we all used it loads. There isn't really a nightlife in the hotel, bar is pretty souless and not much going on so beware if that's important to you. Others have mentioned the sunbeds, but we always managed to get six so it was fine for us. If it's windy they won't put the sunshades up, so if like one of our group you have sensitive skin that burns easily, it means going inside. Beach was fine and only one day the red flags were up all the way along. However, it's a real struggle not to drown if you're short like me, so after two attempts, I never went in again as didn'tfeel safe. Not really a hotel for relaxing by the pool as very small. We had a lovely family holiday, but I wouldn't stay here again because of the rooms. However, it's in a good location and cheap, which probably explains its popularity and the issues!

Amazing service

Ridvan C on May 30, 2024

The rooms were very clean and so was the complex as a whole. They had great food and the service by all of the staff was excellent. Especially by Chefs Luis, Ofelia, and Jesus. Waiter Enrique was also very nice and they even went as far as giving us extra goodies on our last night when we went for dinner to thank us for staying. Do not hesitate to try the asain fusion restaurant here! Would definitely recommend staying here.
