Awesome girls trip

My friends and I had the best time! We’re super grateful for Ruben, Abed, Alejandro and Antonio (chocolate). Ruben and Abed made sure we were taken care of, they recommended delicious drinks and foods to try. The resort itself is beautiful and the beds were comfortable.

The hotel was great. The pool was always fun and the entertainment was fantastic. Ruben took care of us every day and provided incredible service by the pool. He and his team made the trip unforgettable! The food at the restaurants was also top notch! Highly recommend.

Close to airport not for party but to relax

VivianeSafwat (Mississauga, Canada) on Jul 13, 2024

The hotel is close to the airport, around 20mn direct trip with no stops. Very welcoming staff from the reception to anywhere in the hotel. We arrived around 10:00 pm and Marco, Kevin and others greeted us and offered any drink to welcome us. Checking was efficient and quickly by Marco, thank you, and he answered all questions we had. The hotel which is a blessing for us does not require long walk as it is stretched over 3 buildings and all are close to each other. We asked for a room with balcony as my husband has asthma and required constant fresh air in the room. The room has beautiful ocean views and very good size as we were a family of 3. The previous reviews about condition of the rooms and a need of maintenance and revamped, is true, but the room is very clean and functional. Our mini fridge was not working, we asked for another one and within minutes it was replaced. However I have to say it is not cold as expected and not sure if we change again anything will be different. Anyway it is ok. They have room service free if you have the all inclusive package. We have not tried yet. The elevators are slow but again functional. The beach unfortunately and due to hurricane Beryl, is not swimmable and you can’t even sit there as it is all rocky. The pool is good, not like resorts size and busy as this is the only place people can spend the day. You might be lucky to find a chair depends on time of day and how busy it is. Around 12:15 pm they serve a small buffet at the pool, very good snacks: ribs, sausage, chicken and burgers with some chips and other sides. Very good option if you don’t want to use the main lobby restaurant for lunch. The staff work very hard and they deserve all praise: you see at the pool bar Alejandro who doesn’t stop. The hotel in general is good for relaxation not to party. Drinks are good and not watery as people said. Breakfast is good too. Overall the hotel is giving you the value for what you paid and definitely maintenance and renovation are recommended.

It was Ok not great for our 2nd time.

Kelly H on Jul 10, 2024

Stayed at Oleo for our second time, but for sure our last. Stayed July 3rd through the 8th, 2024. We were on site for Beryl the hurricane. We did have some communication with the hotel ahead of time about the weather. We decided to go ahead with our plans, after reading many comments and what Oleo conveyed. A couple of things to note for this boutique property. It is in dire need of regular maintenance. We had a great view ocean front on the 8th floor w/balcony. However because of pending Beryl our patio sliding door was duck taped shut. The door didn't really close very well. The day that Beryl was showing to hit the coast in the evening, the authorities cut off all liquor sales and all inclusive liquor options. That lasted until the next day after the hurricane had passed. Before you go ensure the beach has sand back. After Beryl the beach sand was totally taken out to sea and rocks were exposed everywhere. The resort restricted any access to the beach. Even through there were people on the beach from other resorts, we weren't allowed. The hurricane did do damage to the structure of the wooden supports around part of the pool area. They drained one of the two pools and had one that remained open. Over all the Japanese was our favorite place to eat. Not bad items from the pool grill. The buffet is small and not a lot of options. But it is a small resort. We ended up leaving early due to Beryl heading toward the Houston area. We didn't really want to extend our stay an additional day since we couldn't walk on the beach and only 1/2 of the pool area was open. The Hotel had a Hurricane weather policy but it was not shared before our travel and can't seem to find it since. We were offered a credit toward our next stay for the 1 day we didn't use. The reason we went back because we enjoyed the beach and staff that waited on you there. One of the bartenders this time "Gary" was great. There are too many options out there to stay where some basic upkeep would make a big difference. The allure of the boutique hotel we experienced the first time was gone this time and it just felt dated and unkept. Had hoped for a better future credit option but they said there wasn't anything they could do. Take a look at other options. This one is also part of a timeshare but for us they didn't push that. Enjoy Mexico and Cancun.
