This place is nothing like advertised online. You cannot get food. They have limited options to start with then will close the restaurants without warning. It takes two hours to get a table and eat because service is so slow. Half of the employees work hard, while the other half stand around and are rude. The resort is small and there is not much to do other than the beach. They do have kayaks and snorkeling gear and a small roped off area to use them, which was nice. I didn’t swim in the pool, but my niece did and she got a rash. The set up of the “sister” hotels is crap. You can’t use anything at them. And if you have kids they really will starve. Same 3 options on every meal - hot dog, hamburger, spaghetti. No fruit or veggies. Rooms are small and outdated. However, housekeeping did best they could. I asked at front desk to have shower drain unclogged and that never happened. Had to shower in standing water everyday. The spa prices are double as listed online. And if you think you might get a perk of resort credit, think again. They break it down into $10 off this, $40 off this - and you have to spend so much it’s more like a 15% coupon. You still have to spend money to use the credit. I ordered a vanilla cake for niece’s bday and ended up getting a chocolate one (she doesn’t like chocolate). No sorry or discount - just oh, we only had chocolate. And of course didn’t tell me this until I picked it up for our little party. I will say, one night manager, Hector, was great. He helped us get a taxi one night when we wanted to get food (because everything was closed without warning). Thanks again Hector! I’m not sure if this place is going under or Hyatt made cuts and nobody has actually paid attention to the impact it has had on it. Also, I never did find the pool they had a picture of online lol. What a scam of a place. Hyatt should be ashamed.

Room was great. Food choices are confusing as you are allowed to eat at Buffett next door and we drank at neighboring sugar bar. Nice towels and pool floats. Trying to sell time share-not a tan of that. Waiters are great. Bar is good! Did have two roaches in our room and leaky A/C-3212. I would encourage staff to be sure hamburgers are cooked because we did get sick after eating them. We will come back because overall it was great. It has potential to be excellent!!!!

I’ve been staying at Sunscape Sabor for nine years. It used to be a wonderful place to stay with excellent food. After AMR Big corporation took over chopped the property in half and built a monstrosity dreams next-door. It seems they have put all of their effort into the new resort. They took out the coffee makers in the rooms and left Sunscape with broken beach chairs and subpar food choices. They used to be five restaurants on the Sunscape property now there’s only one sit down that’s open every night and one buffet restaurant. They do have special dinners by the poolside here and there, but the overall experience was disappointing this year. It started to dwindle during Covid when they were building the new Sunscape. I returned the following two years, thinking it was going to get better and blaming it on Covid Restrictions And lack of staff. But returning For the third year in a row after Covid, it has only gone downhill. The staff are wonderful but can only work with what they are given. Shame on AMR for jacking up the prices and lowering the product that you offer.

Quaint, small resort in front of a quiet and peaceful beach. Perfect to just go and relax. You don't have the excitement of the waves, but you have the beauty of the transparent water and lots of multicolored sea creatures. Just a little bit of seaweed, not much, compared with Cancún or Playa del Carmen. All the staff is really gentle and attentive. The ocean is safe for the children, just a little bit rocky in some places. There is a lot of security at the entrance. The waiters, housekeepers and staff are always there for you.

Please do not come here. I know the website and the prices look so great and enticing but it is a LIE. Restaurants will close with no reasoning, food is AWFUL. Rooms need updated. The staff is unhelpful in all ways. We had to wait 2 hours for a room, then when we got our room waited another 30 min for bags and ended up just going down and getting them ourselves. We left the resort multiple times to go get food elsewhere because the restaurants would close, but they tell you to go next door to the other resort but they do not allow children. They tell you no reservations needed yet waited at least 30 min to be sat for each meal, where our group was still split up and we never all got to sit together. We booked an excursion where the day of when we asked where to go they said oh sorry we lost your reservation and kept booking so there is no more room. Had to then leave the resort again to find something else to do. The place is just a mess and no one knows what’s going on. Got into a fight with the hostess on night one because she would not let my pregnant sister in because she had a maxi sundress on with spaghetti straps. It states NO WHERE about strap sizes for women. They will not let you take food to your room AT ALL. even though I watched them take room service out of the restaurants on our resort next door to other resorts? I’m rambling at this point but the place is terrible. I have been here before about 8 years ago and was so excited to go back but they have gone so far down hill it’s crazy.
