I recently stayed @ The Rif 11/21/25-11/22/25 (ended up extending a extra day. Id give the staff alone a 100/10 for the experience. Big shout outs to my FAVORITE bar staff members starting off with Jeanu & Robert. They were the first 2 i met and we immediately hit it off was easily my favorites for the duration of my stay. Next is my girl Jutmari who made sure to take such great care of me and my group anytime she seen us till the day we left! We appreciate and love youuu Mari girl. Next up Shayat & David, although i didnt get to experience you guys toooo much the 1 day yall was on bar was definitely vibes and the drinks & Davids special shots were amazingggg. Next up Erwin, just so happen to be his bday that week as well so we met him at the end of the trip but he was amazing nonetheless, gave my friends and I some great laughs and made some amazing pina coladas. Overall the bar staff turned into my favorite people on the resort and ill never forget them. Big shoutouts to my guy on Omelet duty everyday too, he was very essential to the start of my days as he made the bestttttt omelets ive ever had lol. Shoutouts to all yall word and i love yall <3 They deserve raises!!
Horrible Resort!

Boring, bad service, unsanitary. Everything about this place is wrong! My husband and I have been to a lot of resorts and hotels, and we’ve never experienced a vacation as disappointing as this one. We feel cheated after wasting our money and time. After just a couple hours at the resort, we almost decided to go home. Our experience began before our arrival. I was diagnosed with Celiac after we booked our vacation. Since there was no refund for cancelling, I attempted to contact the resort to ask if they could accommodate my dietary restrictions or allow us to cancel. I emailed the resort with no response. I called the Hilton main number and after 20 minutes, the representative could not get anyone to answer the phone. Then our call was disconnected. On a second attempt to call, I finally spoke with a very unhelpful woman at the front desk. So, I messaged the resort through Expedia. I finally got a response and was supposed to speak with an assistant manager who never called. After our arrival, I was connected with a chef who basically made me the same meal each day. I was grateful for something that felt safe, but it definitely was not a fun eating experience for the week. Service: There were a few staff members who stood out because they worked hard and provided excellent service: Adnon (server), Kaan (bartender) and Yusef (chef). Otherwise most of the staff seemed miserable. Service at the bars was generally slow as there was usually only one bartender. Prepare to wait in line! Property: Beautiful property with great potential. Due to understaffing, the property wasn’t as clean as it could have been. Guests were smoking wherever they wanted because no one told them otherwise. Towels were sometimes available at the beach and pool, but often ran out. The Rif pool was too deep to stand in, so people stayed near the stairs. There was no drink service at the pool or beach, so if you wanted a drink you had to stand in line at the bar. The room was fine, but it was almost impossible to get washcloths. Apparently they were out for several days. The Splenda packets in the room were often old and crunchy. Cleanliness: Cigarette butts were all over the beach, dirty glasses were sitting all over the property and the bars looked and smelled filthy. Dishes were often piled high in the sinks at the bar. Only once did we see a bartender using the dishwasher. If I had to guess, glasses were likely rinsed and reused, but we did not observe this. A dirty diaper was left sitting all day by the pool along with a bottle of cigarette butts. Used towels were rarely picked up. We watched someone break a glass right by the poolside. It was swept up, but I didn’t feel confident that it didn’t get in the pool. Kids’ toys were left all over around the pool. The most appalling observation of all: I watched a staff member “washing” silverware in two pitchers of water. One pitcher was filled with filthy water that she pulled dirty silverware from and then dipped it into another pitcher of water. She then wiped each item with a towel and placed it into a “clean” silverware holder to be used for the restaurants!! No sanitizing! Food/Restaurants: Due to my condition (Celiac), I don’t feel that I can fairly critique the food. My husband wasn’t impressed with the food at the buffet. Service at the restaurants was overall horrible. Our first meal at Harbor, I saw my steak sitting ready (next to a gluten containing meal), along with other orders that were sitting at the counter for over 20 minutes. Reservations were very difficult to get. We watched people with reservations lined up for long periods of time just to be seated. Four restaurants (Harbor, Sofra, Maya and the buffet) are all under the same roof. Odd setup. Entertainment: What entertainment? There really wasn’t anything. One day we heard some music playing softly at the pool and beach bar. The music we did hear sounded like something you’d hear in an elevator, not an island resort. We went to listen to the beach singer one night who stopped with no warning after a very brief light sprinkle of rain that lasted 30 seconds. Another night we went to the other side for the entertainment that never happened. No sign or announcement. The pool had no entertainment at all. We thought we were on the adults only side of the resort, but there were kids on both sides. We saw a lot of people playing cards or board games for entertainment. If you want to have fun, your best chance is walking into town or paying for food/drinks at the property next door (Mondi). Our best day was getting off the property by renting a car! I don’t see this place changing anytime soon. If you are planning to visit Curaçao, I recommend reading all the reviews before making any decisions. It’s a beautiful island, but definitely didn’t feel as welcoming as Jamaica after our experience at The Rif. Automated AI generated responses to reviews isn’t going to solve the problems. Refunds and/or credits to other properties is really the only way to make it right. Hilton should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this property!
So much potential .. Falls short..

Current climate in the U. S had our friend group seeking a last minute reset with our friends consisting of couples. Curaçao was chosen for our 5 day stay. So much potential… beautiful resort spacious / grounds. Food was delicious and drinks were well( when instructed how to ) made with top shelf. Great live nightly entertainment. ( I love live music) With all this said …. There is zero concierge service. Service is an afterthought at this resort. You will never hear “ how may I assist you or may I offer u something to drink? Would you like more towels? “ the culture of this resort is very different than that I am accustomed to. The people/staff are very friendly when APPROACHED. They will not engage you with good mornings or greetings. HOWEVER they are not rude and very polite when YOU speak to them. There is minimal staffing which lead to extremely long wait times at the bars or for dinning. Hours posted for bars / coffee shops , restaurants were grossly inconsistent. There were very few key team members that could teach others on customer service a young woman name “ Shiru “ at the BBQ restaurant had an affable warm kind disposition and great sense of humor. I honestly am unable to recollect anyone else. The island itself doesn’t have a lot to offer with the exception of spectacular beaches. If you are looking to not be bothered to unwind and left to your own devices then I would recommend this location. As for myself would I return ? Because of our group we had a great time amongst ourselves. Currently I am intent on not visiting a place more than once unless necessary.. there isn’t anything about this country that is cause for exception. As for this resort I am hopeful that as tourism grows perhaps they will overcome their identity crisis and become aware that they are in the hospitality business. The property has all the potential.
A honeymoon we will never forget

The RIF is a beautiful hotel. The lobby at night lights up and is very relaxing. Our room was big and our bed was as comfortable as can be. The Mondi coffee shop was first class with coffee from all over the world. Reservations for specialty restaurants are made from 10am-4pm for the next day. If you make them early( I recommend on line) you will have no problem. Cathy and I went to the seafood restaurant, which was on the water and Carella was our server. She was wonderful, kind and very attentive to our every need. I would rate her a 10 out of 10. The buffet was amazing and we could have just went to it every day. There are not a lot of pigeons around the buffet like people posted. The bars at the RIF served top shelf liquor. The Corendon did not. The RIF had a very small patch of beach so we went to the Corendon side, near the end, where you did not need water shoes. You can rent snorkel equipment at the Corendon and do your snorkeling at the hotel. You will enjoy it. The staff was great all week. There was always enough chairs at the pool and/or beach. I would highly recommend using Omer for getting professional pictures done. He is kind and great at his craft. We loved the pictures he took. The RIF is quiet and laid back at night and the Corendon usually has things going on most evenings. You have a 15 min walk to the Queen Emma Bridge as you go into the Capitol. Go to the Rift Fort mall. You will love it. The Rif was everything we expected. A great hotel…great food and great service!
