Stayed at this resort for 10 days. CHECK IN: Very pleasant welcome. All smiles and a genuine desire to be treated as an honoured guest. Room was large, well appointed and very clean. Bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. Telephone not working. HOUSEKEEPING: Kept room very clean, however every day was an adventure as to how many towels we would actually get. When we checked in we had two bath towels, two face towels and two hand towels, along with the one on the floor in front of the shower. We never received the same combination since. Most days all we received were two bath towels. GROUNDS: Extremely well kept and very clean, including the beach areas. Loungers were nice and thick mattress type and there were more than enough for all guests, regardless of what time you went to the beach. The swimming area is protected from the ocean waves by a stone wall, that would stop the waves, allowing enough water to come through so that you don't have still water. Perfect for non swimmers, like my self and my wife, who love to spend as much time in the water as possible. The beach bar was right there, as were clean functioning toilets. The large pools were fantastic too. FOOD: The main restaurant (buffet) was well laid out. The variety was amazing and the quality was very good. A little slow, at times, in replenishing items that had run out, so if you did not go early you might have to wait or do without an item. Interesting that you would serve yourself, not only the food but also your drinks including wine and beer. There was really no dependence on staff for anything. We went to 4 ala cart restaurants. The Italian (total disaster), the Seafood Tavern (very good), the Turkish (very good) and the BBQ (good). Common theme at all 4 is the slow service. This is mainly because of being short staffed.. NIGHTLY ENTERTAINMENT: Mostly music themed bands. I have seen better at other resorts. OVERALL: This is a great vacation spot, however expectations are raised as this is a "Hilton" hotel. Actually it is owned by a Turkish businessman (Correndon), who also owns an airline (Correndon Airlines based in the Netherlands) It is part of the Curio Collection of Hilton, whatever that means. Even though everyone at this resort works hard to elevate the experience to a five star resort, it is not there yet. The majority of the staff are exceptionally pleasant and very kind. They truly care and try their best to help with any issues. The resort has a very Turkish/European feel to it, with many traditional Turkish food items including Turkish Coffee, which I enjoyed every day. Like most islands in this part of the world, everyone has a laid back approach to life. This is mostly a good thing, however sometimes it works against resorts such as this one. One evening the entire hotel was without cold water and no toilets were working. This continued through the night. At 2 am I went down to reception and found the Night Manager who was very pleasant. He informed me that they could not get a hold of the technician from the company that was supplying the water to the resort. Long story short, the technician had his phone shut off. They finally got a hold of him around 7 am and he "agreed" to come in a little earlier than his 8 am shift. Within 20 minutes from his arrival the water was back running. This would not happen in the United States, Canada or Europe CONCLUSION: When you blend the perfect weather (12 months the same), pristine waters, warm friendly people, great resort despite some problems, would I go back. IN A HEARTBEAT.
