One of the WORST resorts I've Stayed in.
Dennis S on Jan 10, 2026
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESORT. This is a 2 STAR RESORT, if that. The food is very basic. If you don't reserve you dinner plans either before or immediately when you get there, you either WON'T get a reservation or you'll be eating at 9pm. We ate at the french restaurant and they didn't even have escargot. It took at least 20 minutes between courses. The Italian ran out of mozzarella sticks. Having lunch at the beach they were always out of something. when ordering you may as well ask what Don't you have. If you have physical issues this is NOT the place. They don't even have hand railings when trying to get to the beach going down a few steps or most of the resort where there are steps. The restrooms by the beach only had 1 toilet opened although they have 2. The have buggy carts to take you around but somehow not everyone has a step stool to get aboard the buggy and then they lost them altogether. This is a SEGREGATED resort. At the Diamond pool area one side is for the diamond club the other for the cockroaches. And guess what all the beach, chairs with any shade are on the diamond club side. And the WORST of it all was they DOUBLE BILLED ME! Now I have to fight with them to have my credit card adjusted. TAKE MY ADVISE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESORT!!
Not a five-star hotel (but a five-star location).

The Royalton Resort Grenada markets itself as a “five-star” property, but what we experienced was barely three-star service at best, and that’s being generous. The problems started immediately with check-in, which took over four hours. Reception repeatedly told us our room would be “ready soon,” a claim they recycled for the entire four-hour wait. Not once did they offer transparency, alternatives, compensation, or even a sincere apology. We were left sitting in the lounge area the entire time, essentially forgotten, while being actively misled. For a resort that charges premium prices, this level of disorganization and disregard is unacceptable. When we finally reached our room, it was clear that “five-star” was just a marketing label. Amenities like soap, hair dryer, and shampoo were missing, the sofa bed was broken, and bathroom outlets did not function: basic issues that should never go unresolved in a luxury resort. These are not minor inconveniences; they are fundamental failures of maintenance and quality control. The dining experience was equally disappointing. Every restaurant, every night, had multiple menu items unavailable, regardless of whether we were the first or last seating. This was a consistent pattern, not bad luck. Even worse, the New Year’s Eve set menu did not match what was advertised, with dishes either altered or entirely absent. For a special-occasion menu at a luxury resort, this is both misleading and unprofessional. Adding insult to injury, the meals generally took at least two and half to three hours to complete because the food came out at a snail’s pace. Despite paying extra for Diamond Club Suite and privileges, customer service remained average at best. There was never any sense of exceptional care, anticipation of needs, or recovery when things went wrong. Paying more simply meant paying more---nothing else. This resort is wildly overpriced for what it delivers. The gap between expectation and reality is enormous, and the lack of accountability or effort to make things right only made the experience worse. A five-star resort should excel in service, reliability, and attention to detail. This one fails on all three. I would not recommend this resort to anyone, especially those expecting luxury, competence, or even basic hospitality standards. Save your money and your vacation time; this property does not come close to justifying either.
Celebrate your birthday in Grenada!

My experience t the Royalton Grenada was not what aI expected it to be. Our room had lice in it. I would have missed it if I hadn't gone into the bathroom. I saw a little black specks in the sink in zoomed in on them with my camera. I then checked the bed zoomed in with camera and light. There were even lice crawling on the bed. I attempted to use the phone to call the front and desk. It didn't even work. So I had to walk all the way back to the front desk with my luggage in tow, because I refuse to leave my luggage in the room, only to be told by a front desk staff member that I would have to wait for an hour to allow someone can come in and clean the room. I explained that that is not acceptable and I would like to speak to a manager. There was no way that I would go back to that room. I waited fifty minutes for a manager to come, speak to me and it was actually a supervisor. Explain the situation and told her that I was not going back to that room. And she was able to give me a room a couple of doors down. I inspected the room to find that there were no lice. I really feel that because there were lice in the bathroom sink that someone was probably aware that they had them and shook them out of their head into the sink. My assumption was that possibly a cleaning staff may have had lice. The next problem what's that after four p m, there was no running water in the whole building. I realized that this was an issue daily. The water would be out sometimes for two hours or more and the funniest thing is when I call the front desks to report the problem. They seem to always act surprised. The second morning, I was there, the kitchen ran out of eggs at breakfast. I was attempting to get an omelet and the clicks stated that he needed to go and get more eggs. He was gone for quite some time. So I asked another kitchen staff member, if they were going to get any eggs and she stated, yes. So I along with other guests waited at the omelet station for more than thirty minutes before someone came out and stated that they were just completely out of eggs. My thoughts were if you knew you didn't have any eggs, why make us stand there and wait. On another day, I went to the buffet and decided to have a burger and chicken, both from the grill, when I sat down to eat it, I realized that the burger was extremely raw on the inside as well as the chicken. When I got up to return it to let the cook know that the meat was raw. I didn't have to say a thing because there were many patrons standing in front of him with plates of raw undercooked meat. My third day there, I noticed that my pouch that contained my towel bands was missing. I had left it sitting on top of the mini fridge. When I came back to grab it, it was gone. I searched the room from top to bottom before I addressed anyone about it. I saw the beverage guy outside of the room and ask him about it, he stated that when he restocked the fridge, he saw it sitting on top of the fridge. He even described it as a little black pouch. He stated the only person that would have gone into the room after him would have been the housekeeper. She was in a room where I was conversing with him and overheard the conversation and came out, and stated that she did not see a little black pouch. I stated that it could have been possibly mistaken, as trash and I described it thoroughly and told them what was in it. The beverage guy stated he last saw it on the refrigerator in the housekeeper stated she did not see it. I left it at that. I did not want to accuse anyone. The pouch could have been mistaken as a jewelry pouch. The talibans were only valued at $15. I really like using them because they keep my towels secured when sitting and by the pool or beach. They can easily be replaced, but it's just the principle. It could have been something more valuable. Another concern that I had it was the time it took to be served at the little restaurant by the pool. I've placed an order that took almost two hours to get. On another day, I was walking to my Room. The lawn staff where's working and from my understanding, they were spraying for insects. There was a huge cloud of smoke in which I thought was coming from the engine of the machine that they were using, but once the cloud of smoke wafered my direction, I realized it was actually pesticide. I don't understand why they would do that in the middle of the day while people are out walking around and no warning. My overall opinion of the resort itself for the price. It is so not worth it. I feel like I was ripped off. Some of the staff were true gems. A couple of them could have used a little more training in customer service and could have been a little bit more responsive to the concerns and needs of their customers. I was very disappointed, but I made the best of the time that I had there. I may return to Grenada, but I would not stay at the Royalton ever again nor recommend it to anyone.
Great beach and people but won’t be back

Travel to the Caribbean 1-2 a year. This was only my second time at a Royalton (Antigua and Grenada). Highlights: - Very close to the airport, which was nice. - Check-in was fairly quick and bags were brought to our room. - Beach off the resort was gorgeous and pools were clean. Always found a spot despite the reserve game being played. - Vast majority of the staff were very pleasant and helpful. - Put on a great New Year’s Eve event and a few of the night shows were great. - Taj (Indian à la carte). Cons: - Room wasn’t the cleanest upon check-in (hair in the bathroom), sand on the floor and stained sheets. Fridge wasn’t cold and phone didn’t work. - App u need to use to book à la cartes allowed bookings for nights when the restaurants were closed…only found out when showing up for reservation. - Food wasn’t great (awful at times) especially at the buffet and some of the à la cartes (French and Italian). - Had requested two beds (3 travellers). It was never provided. - Need to find other people to join you for excursions or else they don’t occur. - Hard to find seats at the night shows due to the significant reserved seating. The beach, pool and staff definitely made this trip but the value wasn’t great when comparing to other hotels. I won’t be back to a Royalton property.
