The snorkeling is great!

Adventure25624168145 on May 15, 2025

Overall this hotel is average. The rooms were cleaned each day. However, you did not receive wash cloths daily. If you want fresh wash cloths every day, tip housekeeping generously. We found most staff to be very friendly and helpful. Of course you run across a few that are not. I did see a few eye rolls and didn't care for one of the hostess's comments but all in all most were very nice. The beach was great! You can snorkel right in front of the hotel. No need to go on an excursion to do that. We did do an island tour and it was great! Get out and see all the wonderful sights and people. The food was average. I can't say I got anything at this hotel that I couldn't wait to have again. The buffet was okay but not great. We always found something to eat. You won't go hungry. But if you are expecting chef prepared food, this is not your place. Our biggest complaint was they ran out of beer every day! If you are a beer drinker, you may want to bring some with you or go buy some. Every kind of mix drink we liked, they were out of daily as well. The first day we got Bailey's in our coffee, the rest of the 7 days, they were out. They were out of flavoring every day in the coffee shop. The girls there were nice and attentive. It wasn't their fault the hotel did not supply them with what they needed. It is the small things that annoy people. And what I mean by that is we weren't super satisfied, but by no means did that ruin our vacation. If you are expecting top notch service and food, this is definitely not your place. If you can just roll with it, and not expect alot, then you will be fine here. There were plenty of beach chairs and towels. They never ran out of towels as we had read in some reviews. It is a very short drive to the hotel. Get a taxi. Don't pay for transportation through your travel agent. We paid $49 through Apple and it only costs $12 if you get a taxi. It is literally minutes from the airport to your hotel. There are alot of stairs, so if you have mobility issues, you may want to look at other places. They did not pick up our luggage when we left so you have stairs to take luggage up and down. The phone in our room was not working so we could not call the front desk. However, when we reported it, they did come the next day to fix it. The resort is very laid back. If you are looking to relax and are not in a rush, this place is awesome. The nightly entertainment was lacking, and all bars close at 11 so there isn't any night life if you are younger and want to keep the party going. There is also no sports bar that stays open 24 hours like most all inclusive hotels. They have a pool table in the photos but we could not find one and even when we asked staff, they were not aware of any.

Beware SGU Parents!

Jenn C on May 15, 2025

BEWARE SGU Parents! I called prior to arriving about our student visiting. Was told day pass $120/day. Came to find out that "Day Pass" is 11am-5pm and $130. If they want to eat dinner with you it's $170 for the "Night pass" from 6p-11p. That's $300 for the day. Cheaper to add to reservation. We did not have a positive experience across the board. Too much to type. It's really a shame. The resort is beautiful. So much potential.

Overall stay disappointing - Take action on your customer's feedback

Emma P on May 15, 2025

Good points - lovely sea view from our room, pool by the Italian was quiet and a good size for a proper swim, the beach at the same end was quieter and no sign of seaweed which we have experienced before in the Caribbean. The room & bed were comfortable. Quick drive from the airport, literally 5 mins. Gym was well equipped. Pretty lagoon with plenty of wildlife & grounds were well maintained. Good service received by Shenelle in the buffet restaurant and Samson who kept us supplied with drinks on the beach. Lovely beach bar restaurant at the end of the complex a short walk along the beach "The Aquarium" super food and the view of the beach is stunning, privately owned. Bad points - After reading the other reviews the only thing i can suggest is that there is a difference between the service received in Diamond club as there is to just your normal service, we did not upgrade. Some of the staff as above were lovely and helpful, others were not interested and there was an unpleasant vibe which made you feel uncomfortable at times. We have never experienced this before in the Caribbean. Buffet breakfast was laughable in the end. We were always there for 7am, try getting a bread knife and butter at the bread station was a chore every day, they even lost it on one occasion. I am not exaggerating it took at least 15/20 minutes everyday for them to go and get some which made a mockery of going for an early breakfast. They were more interested in taking photos of there bread merchandise. Food was hit and miss in the buffet, most of the food was luke warm unless you went to a station where it was cooked for you. A la carte was good in the Indian and Italian on some days but others not so good, there was no consistency in the French bistro. Swim up bar which is advertised, is not a swim up bar. We sat on the seats in the pool waiting to be served and was told we had to get out of the pool to order, so not sure whether this is something that is no longer managed. Other bars were understaffed, waiting to be served on occasions was painful. Bar staff seemed to be the most unhappy out of the complex. Selection of drinks were not always available, Bacardi, Sauvignon Blanc and even sparkling water. Mini bar in room, did not have beers. We asked at reception, and was told it wasn’t included in the room. The leaflet they give you on arrival, clearly states beer which we mentioned to them. We eventually got some delivered to the room, but it was never topped up. We constantly had to ask, which was a theme in this resort if you requested anything. Spa. I booked a massage which wasn’t cheap, they took me to a relaxation room and said someone would be with me shortly. After waiting 25 minutes and becoming very agitated, hardly relaxing wondering whether anyone would ever come, a masseur arrived saying that someone would be coming shortly, and we would still get our time allowance we had paid for. Well, I waited for another 5 minutes and decided enough was enough, I was hardly in the mood for a massage and had arranged with my husband to meet for lunch. All in all, an overall experience I would not want to repeat, all the negatives could be resolved so easily. It is just the attention to detail and the customer service. We know there is a slower pace in the Caribbean which we normally enjoy, but Grenada is on a whole new level. This was meant to be a very special holiday which wasn’t cheap for our 20th Wedding Anniversary which is why I felt compelled to write this review. We did complain on several occasions whilst we were away, but nothing changed, so we just gave up in the end. Whilst the guest relations did call us to see whether everything was ok, we stopped taking the calls as it was just a pointless exercise. Hotel please do not respond to this review – we will share your comments with the teams concerned and look to improve the service. Take action and make this a great resort, we would definitely not return, and we love the Caribbean. Last point for UK travellers – it is not the same English electrical plug we use, and I can’t advise what you need as I can’t find anything on the web to advise, maybe contact the hotel.

Unforgettable Stay with Exceptional Butler Service

Pashinee J on May 13, 2025

I had a fantastic stay at Royalton Grenada! The resort exceeded my expectations in every way, i stayed at the diamond club section, i arrived early in the morning and had a seamless check in and even got an early check in to my room. It was a a beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, and a relaxing atmosphere. Room was always kept clean and restocked on a daily basis. All staff at the resort was so pleasant and always tell you good morning/ evening when crossed paths. What made it even better was their top notch butlers Isiah, brad and quaver. These guys made my stay so memorable they were attentive, professional, one step ahead of me, they went above and beyond and this truly elevated the entire experience. They know good customer service and made me feel special, they were extraordinary! Highly recommend!
