A GREAT FAMILY VACATION IN GRENADA
BWaterbaby (Winnipeg, Canada) on Apr 17, 2026
This resort is only a five minute drive from the airport, taxi service cost $30. US. We spent two glorious weeks at the Royalton Grenada, Diamond Club, ground floor, beach front, Bldg 16 after an upgrade from Bldg 14 due to too many stairs for us 80 plus seniors which was extra $$$. We loved the laid back atmosphere, the cleanliness of the whole resort and all the staff were very helpful, accommodating and greeted you on passing by. We utilized the buggy service a lot and the drivers were prompt and courteous at all times. We enjoyed the buffet, Taj, Ma Maison, Grazie, Nibbles and the Caffe Lounge. The bartenders were all top notch and we experienced many different drinks during our 2 week stay. Our Butler Albrad went above and beyond to accommodate us and get us dinner reservations, loungers and even served us drinks. The pools were all clean and refreshing with the beach and ocean only a few steps away although we did not get into the ocean due to red flags. We travelled with two teenagers who were disappointed that the nightly activities closed down at 11pm. We did not get to watch the nightly entertainment as it was held inside at The Lobby Bar which was always too full and hot so we spent a lot of our time at the Martini Mix Bar outside courtyard. We would definitely return to this resort and recommend it to all visiting the wonderful island of Grenada.
Disappointing Stay: Not the Marriott Standard
Michele S (Trinidad) on Apr 17, 2026
As a Marriott Bonvoy member, I expected a certain level of service and quality that the Royalton Grenada simply failed to deliver. While the hotel is a significant local employer, the brand standards are severely lacking. Room Issues & Safety Hazards We checked in early, which was handled smoothly, but the experience went downhill once we entered our Junior Suite. Malfunctioning Amenities: The fold-out bed was broken, and the jacuzzi jets did not work. Severe Neglect: Our patio was flooded and covered in a thick layer of green moss. This is a major safety hazard; my elderly father nearly suffered a serious fall because the area was so slick. Medical Emergencies & Poor Response On our second day, my aunt slipped on the dangerously slick tiles near the Diamond Club pool. Inadequate Care: The onsite nurse provided only basic gauze and cream. Lack of Follow-up: Despite her toe turning blue and swelling significantly, there was zero follow-up from staff. Delayed Service: I requested a room consultation at 9:00 AM the following morning; the nurse didn't arrive until 4:00 PM. Dining & Service Discrepancies Food Quality: The buffet was clean, but the food was subpar—meats were consistently dry and there was very little variety. Reservations: The Taj Indian restaurant lost our reservation, forcing us to reschedule for another night. Room Service: We ordered breakfast for 6:00 AM to accommodate a 7:00 AM checkout for our flight. The food never arrived. Service Bias: We noticed a clear disparity in poolside service, where certain demographics were prioritized while we were forced to leave the pool to get our own drinks. Staffing: While the staff at Nibbles were rude and dismissive, it is clear the local team is overworked. However, Joanna the bartender was a complete standout—her professionalism and kindness made our stay tolerable. Final Verdict This property requires urgent attention to maintenance, safety protocols, and staff training. For the price and the Marriott name, we left feeling utterly disappointed.
Room for improvement...

Stayed 7nts over over Easter week. Hotel was busy for a couple of days due to the Carifta event taking place. Staff were very friendly, although the service was hit or miss depending on who was working (but Madonna & Joanna were great!). The views were amazing from the Grazie Restaurant. Sunsets beautiful as resort is west facing. Had a beachfront walkout room (Diamond Club). Found we did not use the patio as the amount of litter trapped between the bushes was a turn off. While the gardeners did a great job on the gardens, they completely missed raking up the garbage along building 15 and 16, as well as the whole beach area. Looks beautiful from afar, but not up close. Did not utilize our butler, but did use the Diamond Club lobby for coffee every morning and the Grazie restaurant for breakfast. The restaurants were sub par (Taj seemed to be a bit better), and the buffet was very sparse as far as variety. Lots of loungers, maybe due to lower occupancy during the end of our week. The shows were just ok, the Kool Jazz Band was really good. They should be a regular part of the entertainment. The drum show was very entertaining. Pools were too small in the Diamond Club area especially. More variety for dining would be better. There should be a cement or wooden walkway between the pool area and Nibbles snack bar in place instead of sand. Diamond club beach area needs some refreshing, not well kept. The beachfront walkout rooms could do better with a patio where the loungers are. More foot wash stations should be available when coming from the beach. Overall our experience was good, but there is a lot of room for improvement. As a travel advisor, these small improvements would make this property stand out. The transfer back to airport was quick, but the 2.5hr line to go through security was not ideal in the heat. Anyone thinking that you have enough time when five flights are going out at the same time should rethink their scheduled transfer.
Superb value family location on beach.

Our family of four visited for a family wedding and stayed at the Royalton. We all thought it a superb value and fantastically located hotel. The beach is directly adjoining and the pool areas are overlooking the beach and sea. Huge range of lovely food and drinks, too much for us to try in just 1 week. Blocks 13 & 14 offer the best sea views. 'Check in' could have been quicker and seemed a bit disjointed but overall an unforgettable holiday of which we would love to go back.
Pretty good visit

We are here right now. April 16. I’d say resort is around 30% full. Things go better with fewer people I would imagine. They have a great property . Beach is nice
