Great Ka’anapali Outrigger Vacation

rickf823 (Fort Collins, Colorado) on Jan 17, 2026

7 days into our 10 day vacation at the Ka’anapali Outrigger Resort and couldn’t be more pleased. We got a great deal thru Costco that included airfare and rental car as well as free parking and no resort fees. The room is modern, well appointed and immaculately maintained by our host,May, who could not be more personable . Housekeeping staff are the hardest working and least appreciated team members in the hospitality industry. May is the epitome of someone who takes pride in her work and goes the extra mile to provide excellent service to the resort guests. She embodies the aloha spirit in a sincere genuine manner. Another resort team member who has been a pleasure to interact with is Ko’i, who shares his Hawaiian culture with guests to give them(us) a greater appreciation of the traditions, language, and music of the islands so that we can enjoy our time here in a way that enriches our experience, and also allows us to show respect to these beautiful islands and people. The resort is steps from one of the best beaches in the world and minutes (walking) from Whalers Village, where great shopping and restaurants can be found. Maui Brewing is on site at the the resort as well. The Outrigger is perfect for couples, families, and honeymooners. Against, mahalo nui to May and Ko’i and everyone at the Ka’anapali Outrigger!

Mahalo Outrigger

DorothyJ439 (Fort Myers Beach, Florida) on Jan 14, 2026

Outrigger delightful. Beautiful property. Staff very pleasant. MJ did a great job taking care of my room ensuring everything was clean and in order. The location is great, many amenities, though I wish they had a fitness area.

Great hotel and beach access.

Tasha G on Jan 14, 2026

Great hotel and beach access. Renting daily beach chairs/cabanas was easy. There are two different options for breakfast, the buffet or regular menu at Maui Brewing co. This property doesn’t have the greatest pool area, however we were told renovations will be happening on the pool and surrounding area.(including slide) One downside to the location on the beach was the constant coming and going of boats for all the tours. They literally dock right in front of this hotel off and on all day. There were long lines and crowds of people lining up on beach for tours. Housekeeping was great. Our housekeeper was MJ. She did a lovely job with the daily cleaning of our room for 7 days! Always smiling and setting the tone for a wonderful stay!

We will return

Julie L on Jan 14, 2026

Excellent experience. We just returned from a week at the Outrigger Ka'anapali Beach Resort. We had a perfect ocean view room and close to the beach. The beach is incredible. The housekeeping staff, especially Lorna was excellent and took care of us going above our expectations. We wish the hotel restaurants were open more days, but we knew they were short staff. I would highly recommend this hotel and we plan to return in the future.

Too Expensive for What You Get

AmrapDallas (Dallas, Texas) on Jan 14, 2026

This place is really too expensive for what you get. The total cost for one night including room, breakfast, resort fee and taxes was $864. This place is not worth $800 a night. The resort fee is a bit of a joke. They do offer some cultural and arts and crafts classes and provide one free beach towel per person, but anything related to the beach in terms of chairs and equipment come with an extra cost. $17 to use a beach chair for one day!! Their prices are competitive with the competition nearby, but this place should be the lowest cost option on the beach because the property is older. I'm paying $600 a night for room and you dare to charge me $25 a day for self parking! Staff was great, very friendly and provided good service. Breakfast food at the Maui Brewing Company was good and service was quick and friendly.
