Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Resort has the best location and value for your money. Our host Lyn was wonderful and friendly as were all of the other employees.

Centrally located on the beach.quick walk to whalers village and island vintage coffee die coffee each morning. Pool is a smaller older pool but it is close to the beach so easy to switch back and forth between the pool and beach during the day. The pool snack bar has the same menu as Maui brewing and less crowded to order. Also appreciate that the pool bar provides root beer and beer in cans rather than cups is easier to keep cold. Pool bar staff also very friendly. You can also get drinks from a Togo stand at Maui brewing but slower service as they are also servicing the restaurant. My kids enjoyed several activities at the cultural center. Don’t miss the going away ceremony. Hotel is older but well maintained. Large balconies. Sink area is in the shower/toilet area so hard for multiple people to get ready at same time. Shower had multiple shower heads which is nice. I like the rfid wrist bands for opening room door that are waterproof. They also open the parking gate and can do so at a distance whiteout needing to roll down the window. Towel cards are provided for getting towels from the beach activity hut. Wish you could just use your wristband as proof rather than the cards as stressfull to worry about carrying end retrieving towel cards.

We really enjoyed staying at the OUTRIGGER Ka'anapali on our recent trip to Maui. The location was central for Ka'anapali. We loved having the beach walk to get to other areas like Black Rock and Whaler's Village. That atmosphere was very welcoming and laid back. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff were courteous and friendly. We loved having Maui Brewing Company on-site for not only food and drinks but also live music that we could hear from our room if we wanted. The departure ceremony was a nice touch that made us feel more connected to the location.

Disappointing to say the least. Although all the blame can’t be put on Outrigger there lack of accountability is shameful. MAUI BREWING staff is ultimately to blame. To make a long story short a bartender by the name of Alfonzo I believe was hitting on a married women and neglecting all other customers. When my wife and I asked for service we’re told to wait; so we did. Just to find out that wait was so long the dinner menu was done and we could not order food. Which made us upset, obviously but what’s most unprofessional was Alfonzo and the women he was not married to continued to curse and make a scene leading to has being forced to goto the front desk where little was done. What followed just kept getting worse Maui Brewing company’s manager on duty, Eric Seamack, blindly defended this behavior. So I simply asked them to pull the cameras because there cameras actually have volume as well to defend my case but no Outrigger claimed they have no control of the Brewery and this actually happens quite often said the Outrigger staff. The Eric Seamack watched as my wife cried and did nothing as his staff continued to curse and the strangers wife said sorry and not to tell her HUSBAND THAT WAS ALSO STAYING THERE but he was asleep. Luckily all the viewing customs including a local bar owner said we were correct and in the right but that did not fix the actual problem. They tried to say we drank too much but that was our first drink and that was recorded and we just returned from ‘Road to Hana’ so they were simply reaching to pass blame (cameras don’t lie). Not to incriminate the bar owner that owned a bar just a few doors down but just to prove how right we were brought us to his bar and we ate and drank together as he explained Maui Bar Staff gives all the people of Hawaii a bad name whilst comping our entire bill with him even so he didn’t have to make such a nice gesture. But as things seemed to be getting settled in the days to come I reached out to Outrigger 5 calls and one response later I found out Outrigger itself refunded us approximately $200 with nothing at all done from or to the Maui Brewing staff. All in all it was a terrible experience and I recommend nobody visit either places. As the destination is stunning the location is far from. If Outrigger can’t control there own property or even stand up for there guests with camera footage to back then shame on them and ALL CUSTOMERS SHOULD TALE THERE MONEY ELSEWHERE; some place that respects their guests. (Side note we were on the first leg of our honeymoon and this was the only bad experience of our entire trip luckily but also very very unfortunate) The Maui Brewery owner Marcus has shown to be just as neglectful as his staff as he was supposed to follow up with me but to no surprise to me he did not. STAY AWAY FROM Maui Brewing it is a stain on the beautiful island of Maui and should be avoided at all costs. People need to stand up in solidarity against these kind of bullying places. Please stand with me to close places such as Maui Brewing Company to stop them from a continual abuse of tourists. Do better Outrigger. Your guests deserve it.
