Perfect low key resort with great food and excellent team
chappers11uk (Dullingham, United Kingdom) on Dec 16, 2025
Just a perfect, low key resort with a great team, quality food and drink and on a beautful beach. We travelled in early December 2025 for our second stay at CSS and the hotel had only re-opened 4 days since Melissa. You could see damage to trees etc, but not to the spirit of the team. Its a 2 hour drive from either KIN or MBJ but its worth it, an oasis of friendly calm All the team were excellent, and more "human/natural" than in some other resorts, and I wish I could name them all, but a BIG shout to RICARDO and ASHLEY in the entertainment team and SANISHA in the pool bar for their positive fun without being intrusive, and KASH for a relaxing massage We are not normally ones for poolside entertainment but the team made it fun and respcted when we did not want to play...even though many of the quizes were USA biased :-) This is a much quieter resort than others, and exactly what we wanted We had no food that disappointed and some meals were exceptional, especailly at Casablanca Its a shame the app has stopped, as the web based comms are a bit patchy and they lost our dinner reservations - but all was fixed without drama We will be returning and wpuld have booked on site but the returning guest price was higher than the public price
A romantic Jamaican experience
Nachole D on Dec 11, 2025
Been to Jamaica a few times before and although this resort isn’t the most luxurious it is by far the most beautiful with the absolute best service. I unfortunately was injured at Dunn River Falls and lost 2 days of my trip, even saw the resort nurse. The staff here went ABOVE and beyond to make sure I had everything I need to be comfortable. They even lent me crutches for the rest of the week. Had shuttles ready for me and everything. Ricardo, a bell hop here even offered to take my husband to the pharmacy to get me ave bandages and more advil. Because we lost those two days and my injury we weren’t able to experience everything this resort has to offer. But definitely will be back to check it all out again soon. Special shout out to the entertainment here. The bonfire on the beach with acoustic jams made me cry almost. The people here treat you and eachother like family and it really is something you HAVE to experience. Couples, I am writing this review the night before check out with the upmost gratitude. I had been looking forward to this vacation for so long and when I was hurt we almost went home early but you went above and beyond for me, and I will NEVER forget it. Much love
AMAZING CARE OF GUESTS DURING CATEGORY 5 Hurricane MELLISA
Pamela B on Nov 08, 2025
We have been to this wonderful resort Couples San Souci many times but the ultimate test was their ability to make us feel as safe and secure as possible during this very SCARY Category 5 hurricane. The hotel under the leadership of Nadia Gibbs was exceptional in their planning and execution in taking care of us. This was a traumatic experience for MANY and Nadia and her team maintained a high level of visibility and individual communication with guests preceding during and after. Executive Chef Tyrone and team were outstanding even delivering food to our room the morning of the hurricane. A team member was assigned TO COVER ALL guests. The Staff was outstanding. Mr Buchanan, Alex (entertainment director and the best entertainment) Fayon,Stanley,Rascine,MsMarion, Janice Restaurant Manager and so many more. Thank You.
Good for what it is

I went on a trip with a group of friends. Unfortunately this is not a property that you should travel with friends with. Strictly recommended for couples, they don't have any double beds. The group wasn't happy but it was not the hotel fault. The hotel let us out of our reservation after a night. I think some people were having issues but personally I didn't have a problem with the hotel. The staff were cool, it was quiet. I wasn't crazy about the food but the hamburger from room service was amazing. All in all if it were me and my wife, I think it would've been a decent place.

We were highly recommended by past clientele . However , I’m afraid it didn’t live up to expectations. Our room which we paid a significant room upgrade wasn’t as described from our agent or the hotels website . Waiting Staff - some were extremely friendly , positive and wanted you to embrace their culture . Others were down right rude , ignorant and dismissive - no consistency. I must highlight the approach of your reception team, as ambassadors of this hotel chain they should be engaging and welcoming not rude , blasé and make you feel like you a being a chore and interruption of their day . Praise should be given to the highly skilled chefs and passion which is reflected in the delivery of well executed food in the restaurants, ( Casanova and Bellavista ) however the buffet restaurant offered very limited options and frequently ran out early on in the service . Spa team - in particular Ruth , was an experience I will never forget . Her knowledge is incredible and reflected in the services she offers . Water sports team - if you aren’t paying huge amounts to engage in other activities which aren’t included in the all inclusive plan they won’t speak to you . Gala / Themed nights are held twice a week . Despite what their website says no other restaurants and bars are open on these nights so you are all herded like sheep into a vast area and forced to eat a buffet which uncovered and attracting many insects / flies etc . House Keeping Team - again praise should be given to their due diligence ensuring everything is well stocked and clean . Finally , I would like to draw everyone’s attention to the non tipping policy they advocate on their website . This is in fact a false claim as every staff member we encountered either asked directly or expected a gratuity which became borderline embarrassing for us, as we often left the room with no money . Due to the age of the resort and location , many areas are outdated and in desperate need of repairs and refurbishment .Extremely poor lighting in the dark making it hard to navigate up and down the concrete stairs which in areas are crumbling severely . The vast gardens and foliage need to be maintained as when we were there , we noticed many branches snapping off and palm leaves crashing down . Based on what I’ve written above it is not a 5 star resort which they advertise it is more a generous 3 star plus .
