One of the Worst Experiences Imaginable

Meander809165 (West Texas) on Jun 11, 2024

Possibly one of the worst experiences imaginable. Wife's 70th birthday celebration, with she and I paying for four family groups, with a total of 16 people, and spending thousands of dollars The dated hotel is undergoing remodeling after 35 years, with jackhammers starting at 6:45 am six days a week including Saturday. No price consideration or offset is given to guests for the terrible atmosphere and noise. The check-in staff is surly, unfriendly, and borderline incompetent. My wife spent an hour the prior day confirming reservations, billing information, etc., all to no avail as the check-in folks had none of the correct information. The concierge and bellman were friendly, as were the restaurant folks (even though the restaurant has been closed and reopened in one of the conference rooms that has zero personality). The pool is very nice, except that on Saturdays, the hotel opens it up to the Scottsdale community and there were hundreds of people there, most of whom were not staying at the hotel nor guests at the hotel. My son-in-law had his sunglasses stolen, but was able to apprehend the thief before he left the premises. Nightmare situation, in summary. Stay away from this place!

HOT ROOM

Katie P on Jun 07, 2024

When we checked in our room was hot, 85 degrees. We assumed it was because the curtains were left open so we shut them and turned the AC down on the thermostat and went to the pool. When we came back out to grab our son’s pool float an hour later we noticed the temp only decreased by half a degree. We went to the front desk at 5pm to let them know our AC was not working and they told us they would send up an engineer. By 6pm, while waiting with our infant son in a miserably hot room for an engineer who was not coming, we decided we needed to switch rooms- not only our comfort but for the safety of our baby. We went to the front desk to request a different room and they said that they were fully booked and that all they can do is offer us a fan. I was shocked that this was the scripted protocol for this situation. We proceeded to our room with 2 fans. We all took cold showers hoping for some relief. It is now midnight as I type this laying in this hot room. Our son has woken up multiple times crying drenched in sweat. We did not come prepared to camp this trip. This is absolutely unacceptable and dangerous. We cannot continue 2 more nights like this. IT MUST BE RESOLVED ASAP.

I would recommend people book appointment for the spa early and spend lots of time by the pool or play pickleball.

Great Family Resort

adamcG8035VM (Omaha, Nebraska) on Jun 03, 2024

We had children ages 9, 11 and 14 and everyone had a great time. There is a significant level of construction, and before you book I would confirm what is in progress so your expectations are correct. The pool area is fantastic, but we could hear a lot a jackhammering during the day.

Great for families

Out kids loved the pool. We loved that the kid friendly environment didn’t sacrifice the quality of hotel.
