Mosquitoes ruined the trip
Christine M on Feb 16, 2025
The Grand isn’t as grand as it used to be. The workers are 90% great, the grounds maintained well and the food is good (for the most part) but the place is showing its age over the years. Bed wasn’t that comfortable, the beach is much smaller which forces you to get up before 8am if you want a lounge chair, same goes for the pool by the ocean. (That’s mother natures fault) but it makes the pools at the resort that much more crowded too! We trued to have fun! What ruined the trip was the mosquitoes! Get bit and you were still itchy and swollen days after, kept up at night, unable to sleep at times. Horrible, my legs looked like I had a skin disease along with many other people you would see around the resort!!! I brought and wore bug spray at night as recommended by others and they still got me. We had mosquitoes in our room and would kill 3-4 daily in there. My husband got bit too but not as severe but we probably won’t go back to that Bahia not so Grand

this is our 4th visit a probably last time in this hotel/resort. we love this place, but now we can compare changes. some of them are good/they separate families with kids frim adults, but some of the aren't the best-u aren't alowe to visit other hotels, only 3 out of 7. negatives- we arrived to the lobby for check in, a straight away they said, if we want better room $400 extra, someone kicked to our door a left.reported a nothing happened, yesterday 14.2 i came back to our room, and some make staff was inside of the room a on the phone. after my question what he doing in our room he left. if you buy any trip, how we did, staff will ask you automatically if you want buy canabis too!! not all staff speak English a be prepare to be bitten 1000 by moskitos . not hotel fault Positives- lovely beach, big resort , staff work hard to keep customers happy, girls at kids club are great Neutrals- entertainment team, food, alcohol,
The best time ever at the Bahía Príncipe Grande!

Just came home from the holiday of a lifetime at Bahía Príncipe Grande Punta Canta! Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved it, the grounds were absolutely stunning and the staff work so hard in keeping it looking immaculate. The rooms were spacious (we got upgraded for free) with comfy big beds and so much wardrobe space. Our maid Narcisa made sure we had a clean room with fresh towels everyday, even when we told her not to worry- she was excellent. The food was amazing, with different choices of cuisines at the buffet, the fruit and salad was fresh everyday. We ate at garden grill, Thali and Cappricios which was a lovely perk, food and staff were out of this world! One of biggest shout outs have to go to the entertainment staff, they work tirelessly every day and night, pool games, parties and shows! When staying here you need to go to the Dominican Fiesta at the Village on Thursday, it was superb and worth the $16 ticket. Also the white party on Monday- such good fun! The main entertainment lead spoke Spanish, English and French to ensure we are all catered for. I recommend La Isla pool if you like to watch All the day Time dancing, entertainment, games and shows, the other pools are more of a chill vibe. Outside of the hotel we did the nighttime buggies, an excursion to swim with sharks and stingrays and Coco Bongos night club- we recommend all 3 as they were such great fun. I can’t relate to any one that says they had a bad experience here, we had the best holiday ever and would recommend it to everyone and anyone.
Average Resort

Overall, we enjoyed our trip with friends & beautiful sunshine. Punta Cana is wonderful area to visit. The resort is showing its age. Could use many upgrades for sure. And I would assume they are working on this’. However, if you are visiting this resort & expecting luxury, you will not find it. It’s a large resort, the biggest one in Punta Cana. Everything I would rate as average. Food, drinks, rooms & entertainment, all very average. Overall, we had a wonderful trip, because we always choose to.
No Thank you!

I just came back from there. I loved the grounds of the whole resort. The beach is very crowded with chairs, but the water is a dream. The beach pool was fun with the animation team during the day. The other 2 pools are amore quiet, but still a fun vibe with great drinks. Shot out to the bartenders Kelvin, Yessenia, Raylin, Osorio, Carlos, and Robinson. The tram service around the resort was awesome as well. Very kind drivers and some were fun as well. The evening entertainment in the lobby was nice. Nothing crazy, just music and dancing, karaoke. We did Dominican night, $16pp ,which offered different types of Dominican foods, bar and cultural dance performances. The food and service at the buffet were terrible. The servers would look you dead in the eye and still ignore you. Noone brought us water or coffee to our table. The food was inedible and not appealing to look at. The lady at the omelette station had an atiitude bc she had to make an omelette. The guys on the opposite omelette station were more friendly and sweet. The snack bar at La Isla, that served burgers fries and dogs was even more disgusting As for the rest of the staff it was 50/50. Some would go out of their way to greet you, smile and make conversation While others walked right past you when you said hi. The room condition was poor. Mold.in the shower, cracks in the walls, balcony door did not lock. If it weren't for the buffet food and the servers, I would go back again because I did have a good time overall, but it's a no for me.
