ABSOLUTE DISGRACE: No Hot Water, Mold, and Inedible Food – Management is Ignoring Us!

We are currently staying at the Grand Bavaro Princess, and it has been a nightmare. We are paying $313 per night, but the service and facilities are below the standard of a cheap hostel. Despite multiple complaints and emails, management is completely ignoring us. The Nightmare Details: No Hot Water: Due to "exploded pipes" that won't be fixed for a month, there is no hot water, only lukewarm. It is impossible to take a proper shower, and my wife cannot wash her hair. For a resort of this price, this is a basic health and comfort violation. Inedible Food & Restaurant Trap: The buffet meat is terrible—tough, salty, and has a strange taste. When we tried to go to a premium restaurant, we were told everything must be booked 24 hours in advance. This means we are trapped eating inedible food at the buffet. On our first night, they "did us a favor" by letting us into a premium restaurant that served nothing but dough-based dishes. Health Hazard: Our first room smelled strongly of mold. It took a long time and a lot of fighting with guest services just to get moved to a different room. Zero Management: There is no real management here. We have waited over 24 hours for a response to our complaints, and nobody has reached out. The supervisors have no authority, and the "guest service" line is constantly filled with angry guests. Final Verdict: This hotel only cares about your money, not your experience. Do yourself a favor and stay at any other resort in Punta Cana. This place is an embarrassment to the hospitality industry. DO NOT STAY HERE.
Beautiful Resort-Upgrade to Platinum Service to Receive Best Service and Amenities.

The resort is beautiful, however placement of the sewage treatment plant beside the main buffet is a planning error. Eating when the breeze is in the wrong direction is a challenge. Staff attitudes range from sullen apathy to extremely friendly. (Please, please, please stop clucking at the breakfast buffet, Chicken Man coffee server. You are not amusing.) Pickleball courts are fine, but paddles are broken and unusable. Activities are repetitive and uninspiring. Special restaurants are mediocre, the buffet is the best option. The Caprese salad at the pizza restaurant can only be described as “vile”-the green stuff was definitely not pesto. The Tartufo restaurant offers a Tartufo dessert that is not authentic, no gelato was involved, (please visit Italy, or at least reference Wikipedia.) Free internet is provided but spotty. The pool area and beach are nicely maintained and the rooms are spacious and well appointed, though in need of repair. The air conditioner vent blows directly on the bed so that extra blankets are required. If this is a 4 star resort it would apply only to the upgraded Platinum area.

Positive: Clean; Comfortable (the mattress was one of the best I ever had, lot of hot water in the shower); Excellent food (buffet + restaurant) : quality and choice; Wide beach, few seaweed (taken out regularly); Wide quiet pool; Friendly personnel. Negative: The spa is way too expensive, the sellers are a bit too clingy; Lot of balenese beds, very expensive and always inoccupied. Other: There was very few people on the first week (January the 7th to the 14th). It seems all Punta Cana was this way.
