Johan was the best bartender at the plaza bar! He was so friendly and was very easy to understand and talk to! He always made our drink very fast and well! He was my favorite bartender to come to at the resort! He was the best at always making me and my family laugh while still taking his job serious! Overall a great worker!

My wife and I just returned from Majestic Colonial in Punta Cana. We had a great time and found our visit to be relaxing as we really enjoyed the grounds, the pools, the beach and the service. This was our first time visiting the Majestic brand (as well as Punta Cana) and overall we were very pleased with our selection. If I could, I would give 4.5 stars. Why? -Beautiful grounds, well maintained, paradisiacal, and relaxing. We really enjoyed walking and relaxing on the grounds -Pools- clean, ample, and fun -Beach- clean, well cared for and maintained daily, comfortable chairs, bali beds and nearby bars. Minimal seaweed. Waves are mild, but on a bad day can be a bit more moderate. -Service- we found the service to be pleasant and attentive. We were more often than not welcomed with a smile and a "como esta". The service was consistent whether at the bar, the poolside, the room attendant, the butler, or at a restaurant. We very much appreciated the assistance and help of Cesar, our butler. -Room- ample space, nice amenities, fridge refilled everyday, nice balcony, kept clean on the daily. We did feel the toilet closet was a little tight and found the power would automatically switch off in the morning when I left for the gym and my wife stayed in bed. -People- seemed that the guests were all there for a good, relaxing time. No frat parties. No large college or retiree groups. Pretty good smattering of couples, families, extended families, kids and even wedding groups. The grounds are ample enough that I never felt too many people or crowded. -Adults only or "Club"- very nice amenities including direct (VIP) check in, personal butler tour of the property, butler throughout the stay, VIP club with snacks/drinks, private pool/beach areas and bars. We felt the added cost was worth it. Reasons I did NOT give it 5 stars. Why? -Entertainment- now I am not saying the entertainment was bad, I am just saying it was NOT 5 star. The evening shows were hit or miss - karaoke, circus and Michael Jackson were fun, but not engaging. The other shows were less engaging and more forgettable. During the day, there were some, but limited activities. I think if my adult children were with us they would have been a bit more bored, as they don't tend to "relax" quite as much as we do on the beach and find happiness in just listening to the waves and feeling the sun -Food- again, not that the food is bad, but it is NOT 5 star. I do appreciate the complexity of trying to make food for so many different opinions and palates, but overall, we found the execution of most dishes to be bland. The beef was predominately chewy, and the seafood overcooked. We did not have a bad meal, but we also did not have a 5 star meal. I would say food was 3 stars at best. We did try all the restaurants and buffets. For breakfast we found the variety and freshness best at the main buffet. Lunch- we typically had snacks from the VIP club (yum) or the beach buffet. Dinner- I think we liked Le Gourmet best. Overall, we would return again and very much liked our experience. Purchasing our package through Delta vacations, online, I found the pricing to be very competitive with other nearby properties, and found out as we visited with guests of other properties while out on excursions that many were NOT as pleased with their experiences with nearby resorts. We hope to return and try another property!

This is our second visit to this resort and it did not disappoint. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our week in paradise. Our butler for the week, Juan de Leon was amazing. He handled our every need efficiently and with a smile on his face. You should request Juan for your butler when booking. You won’t be disappointed. The beachside amenities are fantastic as well. Wander and Zoyda kept the drinks flowing while entertaining us by singing along to the island music. We had a good meal at several of the resort’s restaurants, but we especially enjoyed breakfast and dinner at le Gourmet. Elfidio made everyone feel welcome and our servers Alex, Junior, Reyita, and Loremy were friendly and attentive. I can’t say enough good things about this resort and our fantastic week there. This is a great resort at a reasonable price.

We booked the colonial club jacuzzi suite and ended up getting ocean front top floor. The patio is massive and private! We also have a large double balcony on the side. The room is so large, very well set up and had a scale, iron board, steamer, a regular coffee machine and a pod coffee machine for espresso. Fully stocked mini fridge and we were given 2 bottles of our choice of liquor. The bed is comfy. Check in was a breeze for us, we arrived at 8:30 at night but I overheard someone else say their check in took 3 hours. I don’t know how they got so unlucky. We’ve had a couple issues but the resort management and staff have been extremely well at responding immediately and making efforts to accommodate and assist! Careful what you eat, if it looks questionable, or is late late in the evening, avoid seafood, make sure your burger is cooked all the way through. Hubby ate some questionable lobster the first night we arrived (it was late at night) and then the next day ate a delicious bbq burger but it was pink inside and that night and the following two days had very violent tummy issues. That was definitely a first for us on our travels. (I didn’t eat the same things and I didn’t get sick so we don’t believe it was viral, definitely think it was food related). So we’ve been very cautious ever since, if you find something questionable, don’t risk it. Another couple we met, the hubby had the same issue for 2 days (also ate the lobster the day before we arrived). Otherwise, the resort is beautiful, stunning, the beach is lovely. Straight out from the wedding gazebo is a tiny reef ?? and we saw some fish and a sting Ray. We haven’t left the adult side. But there is always chairs and Bali beds usually available until about 9am, but always pool side chairs available throughout the day. The pool is not overcrowded and neither is the beach. Always find something good to eat. The buffet has been wonderful and the line ups for freshly cooked food are not that long. The crepe station has been my fav for a dessert after dinner. The resort is large, but well layed out. I think it’s worthwhile to upgrade to club if you are not travelling with any kiddos. Our butler Willnier is wonderful, very helpful, set up our reservations for dinner, always around to assist, and relay our issues to management. Friday night was the beach white party, it was a great time. The gym is awesome! Enrique I believe, he’s great and will make suggestions on adjustments when you are working out which I did appreciate. The gym is huge and very well equipped with high quality equipment. Overall we’ve had a great time.

Travelled as solo traveller during week of January 4 2025. Beautifully kept resort with fabulous beach front. Booked the colonial club side with butler and added perks. Resort accommodated request for room near beach - had top floor room with easy access to all amenities. My butler. Juan de Leon was attentive, checked in daily to make sure all was well and deal with any particular requests. As a solo traveller it’s always great to have a resource to deal with any issues. Food was generally good across the resort and service was good exceptional at LeGourmet a la carte restaurant. Overall a great experience and look forward to returning in the future.
