NOT worth it, will NOT return.

Lori R on Nov 30, 2024

NO Room Service and cost more than other Bahia areas. NO place on beach to get food or drink between 6:30-10 AM ( bar opens). Ambar has a beach restaurant and a coffee shop. Aquamarine you can't even get a coffee out of machine until 7. And it's long way to beach with trolly cars never appearing or always full. They allow any color band to occupy roped off beach including that I've seen multiple families with children in the supposed aquamarine adults only area of beach, but yet they will move people from in front of privileged area even if they are way down near water. There is only 2 bars and 1 closes at 6 poolside. The mosquitoes are bad day and night.

Privilege club membership not as promised and as it was

Martin F on Nov 24, 2024

We went in Punta Cana for the 3rd time with privilege club membership week, and the services and inclusions that we used to have are still cut. We got a broken power outlet, that was not fixed during our stay (10 days). Inclusions like having ocean view, or pool side view are never available, even if we requested it 4 months before. We asked special attention as we were celebrating our 20e wedding anniversary, and the request was ignored. Even worse, we bring a friends couple on our membership privilege weeks, and they receive more gifts than us. Nothing was done to fix the situation. Very disappointed.

Early Nov trop

Terry W (Ottawa, Canada) on Nov 23, 2024

Aquamarine is an adult only resort which makes it excellent for people who want relax without having children around. The rooms are very comfortable with sofa chairs and table beside a very good 4 poster bed . Pool has both active and quiet areas to satisfy everyone's desire. The beach is easy to get to and has beautiful white sand where you can walk for miles and warm blue ocean water. We stayed for 14 nights and at dinner in 13 a la cart restaurants. The food was exciting and excellent. I will say the buffet food was usually cold. They should heat it up a bit. Our concierge Miguel was friendly and did an excellent job of looking after us and ensuring we had the room we requested and providing any assistance we needed and answering any questions we had. Despite having quite a bit of rain on this trip we completely enjoyed our time at Aquamarine and plan to return next year

Perfect break away 10/10

Victoria K on Nov 23, 2024

Ignore any negative reviews, we have travelled a lot and this hotel you get what you pay for, no it’s not luxury but the food, rooms, drinks are amazing. Favourite restaurants are M.E.A.T and the Italian call Portofino, there are 15 restaurant’s to choose from not including the sports bar and buffets, they’ll be something for everyone. Drinks are great and Smerlin at the pool bar made the most fantastic cocktails & kept my hubby topper up in beer! We got involved with lots of the day time entertainment , from the pool parties to aqua aerobics, Luis & Richard where the stand out stars ?? We will definitely return - 10/10

Nice vac but noticed changes

Paula B on Nov 22, 2024

This was our 4th visit to Bahia Grand Aqua Marine. We noticed changes this visit which results in our 4 star rating. First things first…West Jet lost my checked bag. A very helpful employee @ the airport, Jose Valdez, assisted me while there. He provided me with his contact info, and told me what to do once I got to the hotel. The staff at the concierge desk told me to come see the West Jet rep @ 8am the next morning. Found out the hard way that the West Jet rep does not come to our hotel ever. After waiting hours I happened to ask the A/C rep who was in the lobby where I could find the West Jet people? He instructed me to go to the Bavaro to see the Nexus rep. I felt like the concierge desk staff were always passing the buck. That was frustrating! Once at Bavaro I found Delvin (Nexus) who knew exactly what I needed to do to report my missing bag. I now know the procedure. The bag arrived at the hotel through the night. We messaged the hotel well in advance to request a 2nd floor room – got it after hackling with the check in desk but not before a lot of time was wasted. My bracelet didn’t work to open the door so another trip back to the check in desk. Also at check in we questioned why we were not getting a repeat guest bracelet. We had blue last visit and qualified for silver this time. This went on deaf ears with all involved. We went back one week in to inquire again. Just as we expected, we were eligible for the silver. They are missing one of our trips in the history and even though we found the reservation in their system, we couldn’t add it to our account. We most likely qualified for gold but oh well not the end of the world. I liked it better when Gladys was at the desk in the main lobby. For all previous visits, I bragged about the Buffet. Not this time, I found it less appealing with fewer opts and nothing seemed to keep hot in the warmers. Just my opinion. You will never go hungry -just less choices. For us the highlight of the buffet lunch was the beautiful table prepared for us by Yulisa Mejia and her team of ladies. I don’t have all of the names but Deneiry also holds a very special place in our hearts. Thank you for going the extra mile. We can see that you work very hard and we appreciate each and every one of you. We noticed the man boss leaning very hard on his staff. More than once we witnessed him calling out staff. A more tasteful approach would be to pull the staff aside privately. I am sure he would gain more respect from his staff this way. His name fails me at the moment, but he knows who he is. The a la carte’s were hit and miss. We felt rushed and part of an assembly line. Get you in and get you out. They offer a welcome drink – lots of times the drink came when you were part way through your dinner. The Asian restaurant was really nice. I commented to Luis that his customer service was over and above. He gets the best wait staff award. Limbo was our absolute favourite and their bar is amazing. Thank you to Willie, Ydel, Immanuel, Franklin and Aquilino. It was so entertaining to see them in action. The drinks were lovely – always with a special garnish. These guys were all so great. Another favourite was Hindu Thali. Huge shout out to the Supervisor, Aida Joseperez. She is so great at her job. She prepared a special table/ dinner for us. We can’t thank her enough – its because of staff like her that we keep returning to this hotel. Of course, you can’t go wrong with the Sports Bar – Try their chicken wings and mozza sticks. We stuck poolside and need to acknowledge and thank Lici Lisaimy and Juan. Lici is amazing at her job, and Juan is the entertainment. One minute he’s beside you – next minute he’s across the pool with a tray of drinks coming back. Incredible friendly and welcoming entertainment staff, as well. We haven’t written a review in a long time, however, we wanted to give a shout out to the above special people and say thank you for a wonderful vac. The little negativities will soon be forgotten but the relationships and bonds made with staff will last a lifetime. Until next time….
