Overall good because of our butler Kelvin. A few things like room and housekeeping could be improved.

Mary Lou M on Apr 27, 2024

Too long of a wait in reception when first arrive. First room given (4222)was not acceptable. Was given a new room(3214) but wanted an upgrade. The reception woman did find us a room in the 3rd building but didn't get back to us so we lost it. Houskeeping did not give us any face clothes or bath mat our second day there nor did we receive water for our fridge. Talked to our butler Kelvin who was very helpful and the following day and the rest of our trip we received enough towels and water. There was no hockey games on the screen in the sports bar to watch. Apparently we were told the resort dropped that package last year. The food was good and staff friendly although do not speak English very well. We would consider coming back to the Majestic Club Elegance but woud want to good room with a view.

We’re Majestic-ers for life!

laurenfZ424QY on Apr 26, 2024

We can't say enough good about this resort! This was our 3rd time to Majestic Elegance, 4th time at a Majestic resort in Punta Cana. This year we did 10 days, the previous two trips have been for 2 week each. I believe this is one of the best sections of beach within a few KMs either direction that we've walked, extremely well maintained (all the grounds are, hats off to the grounds keepers in the green uniforms they work so hard all day!) We always do "Elegance Club" so we have access to the adults only areas, rarely do we have trouble finding loungers and shade, we beach in the AM and then hit the swim up in the PM generally. A little tougher perhaps in the afternoon, but typically we're in the pool the whole time more or less so we don't need shaded loungers. Food is pretty good overall, buffets are what you'd expect for resort food, the various cook to eat stations tend to be our go tos for our mains at breakfast and lunch and then we can always find something yummy for the sides. The sit down restaurants are all great, Sea and See is our least favourite at night, mostly because we aren't big seafood people. Rooms have just had a nice refresh, our AC was cold, our snacks and drinks refilled as needed and our rooms kept perfectly clean! Turn down service was hit and miss for us, we only had it a couple nights, but that doesn't bother us at all! Pillow selection was great and we always sleep well on the mattresses! Room layout is definitely aimed towards couples but I know there’s lots of tips and tricks for families and friends traveling together. STAFF: hands down the best part of this resort-don't get me wrong the resort is beautiful and well maintained, a great size, and all the other things we look for, but the staff are the stars of the show here for sure! They make this place shine! Figuratively and literally! Sea and See Buffet AM: we had breakfast every day with the lovely Mirurgia, and then Pedro in her days off, she had a table ready with two mimosas on it for us everyday as soon as she caught sight of us! Club Beach area by Pool C: these ladies always started our day off great! They are absolutely caring, funny, and intelligent women! Maxima, Angelina(missed getting a picture with her before her days off), Santa, and Marilania all took such fantastic care of us and are so fun to chat with while they work so hard! During our stay there were some guests in the area giving them a very hard time anytime someone accidentally crossed into the adults only area who wasn’t suppose to (very easy to do not marked very well especially if your just focused on looking for chairs/shade) and despite being constantly interrupted from their hard work servicing guests, they still handled these folks calmly and professionally. (We have always seen the staff deal with folks with the wrong bracelets in a timely manner during the course of their other work, taking orders cleaning up cups etc, but these people were actively policing the beach area and wanted them dealt with immediately and wouldn’t leave the staff alone till they were dealt with). Pool concierges: Joel Samual, and Walliam, these young men have outstanding language skills not to mention are kind and funny guys who take great care of everyone in their areas. If you tell these guys what you need or want they will do everything in their power to help you, no question. Both of them are hoping to become butlers in the future and they will without a doubt excel in this role, we can't wait for the day we return and they've achieved this goal! Adults only swim up bar: Ismael! This guy will turn your post afternoon nap into a full blown party and have you wondering how it's 6pm already! He's always singing and dancing as he works and makes sure everyone is having a great time no matter how busy the area is. He is quick and efficient at his job all while being so funny and personable! Evening restaurant staff is highlighted by Victor, this young man recognizes us every year and makes sure we are al well taken care of wherever we are eating at night! This year he was not just a supervisor but a sommelier! He is so kind and knowledgeable that he's no doubt doing amazing things with this role! Evening bar staff, we spend most evening pulled up to the lobby bar chatting with staff and other guests the 4 bartenders and walking service ladies always keep the evenings fun and enjoyable so matter if your seeking a quiet nightcap or getting ready to hit Coco’s disco! Manuel, Roberto, Miguel Angel, and Alexander were all amazing and kept the drinks flowing! If you didn’t know what to drink they would mix up something special for you in a flash! You will never sit with an empty glass in front of you with these guys around! Sandra is our favourite serving lady in this area as well! She’s is so kind and funny and always checks on us even if it’s just to say hi since we’re sitting up at the bar where she doesn’t do service! Bartenders: two bartenders we really enjoyed while they covered other days off were Yoneiri and Ronnie, they made fantastic drinks, and were a ton of fun! McJestic: Carlos and his tater tots have definitely saved us from some nasty hangovers over the last 4 trips! All the food is great and serviced up by an even greater guy! It's always a stop for us before heading to our room at the end of the evening, whatever time that may be! Butler: we had the outstanding Erickson once again! And once again we never wanted for anything during our stay, he checked on us daily, made our reservations, sent the daily schedule every morning, and made sure we were covered by another butler during his days off (Thanks Viktor!) my husband always loves their quick baseball chats and we know we're well taken care of with him! We hope we haven’t missed anyone because this staff if so outstanding whether we’ve seen them multiple years or for the first time! The staff always recognize us that have been there for our last trip(s) and it’s so nice to be treated that warmly by so many people! We can’t wait to see them all again next spring!

Lots to Eat & Drink

Ted G (Waterloo, Canada) on Apr 26, 2024

The beach and pools were fantastic in the adults only section. The food was generally good. The Japanese Restaurant was exceptional. The drinks were great. The beer could have been colder. Service was excellent. A+ to my "butler" Orlando. I would have preferred more A-C in the Restaurants, room and main lobby bar area. I was sweating all the time.

You may want to consider another resort if you like cats - or do not like cats

KimSaintJohn (Saint John, Canada) on Apr 26, 2024

During our stay at Majestic Elegance, a playful kitten at the resort unexpectedly attacked my leg, leading to a severe infection. Despite my caution around cats in other countries, these seemingly domesticated felines freely roamed the property, mingling with guests, including children. The lack of warning signs and the pervasive presence of the kittens made it easy to mistake them for harmless pets. The aftermath of the incident involved medical treatments (7 rabies shots, many prescriptions and tests), costly expenses, missed opportunities, and a disappointing response from the resort, which prioritized liability waivers over compassion. I urge the Majestic Resort chain to alert future travelers about the risks associated with these seemingly friendly kittens to prevent similar incidents. My experience serves as a cautionary tale to protect both adults and children from potential harm and even fatal infections. Also, many resorts in Bavaro do not have cats. We have stayed at nuerous - and so many great choices, including Dreams Onyx and Excellence.
