The beach is everything!

Stayed at this resort for 10 days just after new year. Had a fab 10 days. The beach is everything!! Accommodation: stayed in premium room, block closest to the beach. Very clean and comfortable. We did get the sewage smell in the bathroom every now and then but disappeared quickly, and there is a musty kind of smell in the room (wardrobe mainly) but that’s just to be expected in a forest, and didn’t distract from the comfort and enjoyment overall. Food: very good breakfast and lunch in La Palapa and Sorento restaurants. The welcome team at La Palapa were fantastic, Catalonia should be really proud of Quetzabel and Angeles, fantastic talent - you should really look after these team members, they add something really special to the service for your guests. We ate at all of the restaurants at least twice and enjoyed them all. Mamma Mia and Tao Cat were our fave’s, and The Grill was probably our least fave but wasn’t bad. Shout out to Juan and Tanner, great service from both. Beach and pool: the beach is everything at this resort, stunning! The pool was great, a little cold at times but didn’t stop us from enjoying it. The entertainment team work really hard and the bar and servers were all really polite. Being from the UK we don’t tend to tip at an all inclusive resort unless the service is really exceptional. However, due to the majority of the guests being from North America, and there tends to be more of a general tipping culture, we did feel a bit of pressure to tip bar staff and servers. Shout out to Monica at the pool for keeping us ‘hydrated’! Gym: open from 6am which really suited me and my early morning workouts. The gym equipment was in good condition and a good variety of machine and free weights. Very clear and water and hand towels available. Overall, we would highly recommend this resort and would defo return in the future.
3 stars and not 5

I traveled with my boyfriend and a couple and we arrived midnight at the hotel. Upon arrival, the room 3016 bloc 3 had a strong smell of mold and humidity. We had a Junior Suite in a 5-star hotel and were shocked by the condition of the room. It was already 1:30 AM, we went to the front desk to request a room change due to the smell, especially since I have asthma. They moved us to a higher floor in the same building to a privilege room ( no charge for one night but if ever we wanted to stay more we would have to pay , but didn’t stay because the odor was worse. Exhausted by 2:30 AM, we asked for another room and were moved to room 6113 in block 6, which they assured us was better. Unfortunately, it was the same issue. We gave up and stayed there. I woke up with a sore throat and a nosebleed, and everything, including the sheets, was damp. The next morning, we fought to get a proper room and were finally moved to building #2, room 2202 in the Privilege section, which was newer and impeccable. How ever a smell from the drain in the bathroom was strong but we put a wet towel to block the odour and closed the door and it was okay. ** Room Service - Food: Vegetable soup was okay; the rest was inedible. Club sandwiches were the only decent option. ** Snack Bar: Surprisingly, it had the best-tasting food. ** Buffet (Breakfast & Lunch): Disappointing, lacked flavor, more like 3-star quality. We both got sick during the last two days. ** Activities Representative in the lobby: Pressured us to buy an activity despite the rain forecast. He insisted on good weather and refused to show us the forecast on his phone. Eventually, he admitted it would rain. ** Italian Restaurant: Chicken was rubbery and likely frozen for months. Lasagna tasted old and was inedible. Shrimp Alfredo was not fresh. ** Additional Issues: Several staff in white shirts roamed around the pool, misleading guests. One offered my boyfriend four free entries to an exclusive breakfast with no upsell, plus two 25-minute massages. Before going to the breaks fast , we had register our names in an office. Then another man asked us which plan we wanted to buy… we mentioned them that we wanted just the breakfast as promised by his employee but the man said it was not possible which frustrated us due to the lack of transparency and dishonesty. SUCH of waste of time! I still had a good stay overall , The beach is amazing !
Jungle Paradise

The hotel offers an incredible experience with its amazing food, attentive staff, and a stunning beach. The unique jungle vibe, complete with coaties and other wildlife, adds a magical touch to the stay. However, the rooms can feel a bit humid and have a slight musty smell due to the surrounding jungle. Bringing a dehumidifier could help mitigate this issue. Overall, it’s a fantastic destination for those seeking nature and relaxation!

Atmosphere was chill. ?? Service was all around great! Tao cat restaurant was our favorite restaurant. The Mexican party was soooo much fun. ?? A big shout out to all the employees at beloved for the great service - Alix was so welcoming and Gabriel made our first night at the resort very special. ?? We are planning for our next stay.

My wife and I I stayed for 8 nights in early January 2025, with a group of 15 friends. The good: - The beach is amazing. One of the best we have ever stayed. Seats are always available, water is clear, and the ground is clean. I give it 9 out of 10. - Restaurants are also great but they are only available for dinner. It is easy to setup dinner reservations. Food is delicious and service is fantastic. I give the dinner restaurants an 8 out of 10. The OK: - Rooms are just OK. Lower floors are incredibly damp and have to be avoided. There are no elevators, so if you are on upper floors you get plenty of exercise. The problem is that it is an older property and you smell sewage in the bathroom. Floor drains are the main culprit. I give the rooms a 6 out of 10. - Buffet breakfast and lunch has little diversity. It has only couple items changing on daily basis, so easy to get tired of food there after couple days. I give it also 6 out of 10. The bad: - Room service food is horrendous. Almost inedible. To be avoided at all cost. I give it zero out of ten. - Food safety gets a fail too. I got sick with horrible diarrhea on day 5 of my stay. So did half of my group. We had no other food but what we ate at the resort. I suggest to avoid raw food, such as salsa and salads.
