We love OCT! The resort is lovely. The rooms are clean with plenty of room to spread out, and the beach is as good as Mother Nature (and the cleaning crew)allows it to be. But it is the staff that keeps us returning. From Brandon, our go-to guy to Luis at the towel hut, Angel, Eduardo, and Ydefonso at the Premium Lounge and of course, Ricardo, our drink specialist. We will return!!
Good for early risers who wish to guarantee a sun bed.

The resort was clean and well maintained. Overall the staff were friendly and helpful, apart from the pool staff who did not enforce the sun lounger policy. This meant the loungers were not abundant enough to cater for the amount of people on the resort. Most loungers had towels placed on them from the early hours of the morning but were not actually occupied for hours on end. This included the adults only pool. The food overall was not of a standard expected in a 5* resort. The buffet restaurant was very repetitive and at best average. However, I would recommend the Sensei Japanese restaurant, if you actually manage to book it through the app at 10am. I would not return to this resort nor recommend it.
Great 5th visit with friends/family

Another great visit to this resort and every year they are doing different things. Always trying to improve. Elizabeth was our butler this year and she was great. Every time we ran into her it was like seeing an old friend ?? Thanks for being so helpful Reynaldo & henri at the lobby bar Thanks guys for being so happy always it was contagious ?? Love the peanut butter tequila Eduardo at privilege lounge for breakfast, mimosa man ?? Always kept us topped up and lots of playful banter Jesus at the privilege lounge was always so friendly and a great bartender. Tequila tasting was fun Everyone of the staff at the resort was great to us as usual. The staff is unbeatable ?? The only thing I would like to see different as a 5th time visitor is, steak always cooked amazing, but no real flavour. Would love to taste a steak that had been marinated or at least something for added flavour. Just a suggestion Other than that, always a pleasure to spend time at ocean coral Thanks guys, work on that steak ?? We will see you again, early 2027 if all goes well. Our daughter and in laws will be joining us this time, we convinced them to join us at this wonderful piece of heaven See you next year OCT ??????
Average stay at OCT!

Just back from a 5-night stay in two Privilege rooms at (OCT), booked through a member so we got automatic Privilege access. We’ve visited Mexico’s Riviera Maya area about 20 times, trying many resorts but this was our first time at OCT. Check-In & First Impressions: Privilege check-in was fast and smooth. Only one of our rooms was ready right away, but the host gave us a quick rundown of the resort. He politely pitched the breakfast timeshare presentation—we’ve done that song and dance before and passed. No pressure, which was appreciated. Our Privilege room (7304) felt pretty standard—nothing wow-worthy. Comfortable king bed (I requested a firmer pillow and our butler delivered quickly), great A/C, a ceiling fan, and a handy steamer for clothes. Amenities included robes, slippers, single sink bathroom with separate tub and shower, plus daily restocked mini-fridge (beer, water, juices, chips, and mini bottles of whiskey/tequila/rum). The bathroom needed attention—the shower grout looked overdue for a deep clean (or replacement), and there was an occasional odor. Not a deal-breaker, but noticeable. The Big Downside: Nighttime music from events/parties blasted well past midnight most nights. If you’re a light sleeper, bring earplugs (I was prepared and glad I was!). This alone would make me hesitate to return if quiet nights matter to you. Food & Dining Highlights: We tried the indoor Italian, Mexican, French, Privilege, and El Beso restaurants, plus the buffet a few times. • Standouts: Privilege’s special lobster dinner was excellent—huge thanks to Angel and Yazmin for making it memorable! • Breakfast/lunch recommendation: Skip the main buffet for lunch and head to the Bistro (available only if you’re Privilege or El Beso guests). The gazpacho and roast beef sandwich were delicious! • Buffet was average—good for variety, but not our favorite. Drinks & Pool Life: Drinks were good! We’re beer lovers and loved the lager with lime. Pro tip: Bring insulated cups—they’re essential for keeping drinks cold. Pool days were spent at the El Beso pool (adults-only vibe) and the lively party pool. The chair game is intense—people stake out spots by 7:30 AM. Bring clips or bands to reserve your chairs! Shoutouts to Gustavo (pool bar—great drinks) and Andrea (El Beso Bistro chef), whose fresh guacamole class produced the best guac I’ve ever tasted—perfect spice and texture. The Entertainment team was great. My daughter and I participated in several games and she even won bingo. She asked for me to shoutout Jorge, Gail, and Jonathan for being fantastic! Beach & Wildlife: The beach had heavy sargassum early in the week, but cleared up nicely by the end. It’s small—just room for a volleyball net and palapas—so we didn’t spend much time there until our last day. By the final days, it looked gorgeous. Big bonus: The resort wildlife! We loved spotting raccoons, agoutis, cats, and especially the curious coatis wandering around. Entertainment & Final Thoughts: We only caught the American Idol show—fun, but get there early and use the QR code to sign up for songs (and please don’t hog the mic like one person who signed up for four while others got none!). Photos: I loved that this resort had photographers set up at night for pics before dinner. At other resorts, we had to make an appointment for family pics. This was not the case here and it into too 10 minutes. We did family shots a few different nights and ended up purchasing 10 photos ($140). Overall, we enjoyed our stay—great deal via the member booking, solid food/drinks, friendly staff, and fun wildlife. That said, we still prefer Dreams, Valentin, or Royalton for a more relaxing vibe (especially with the noise and chair hustle). Would we return to OCT? Maybe for another good deal, but it’s not our top choice.
Great!
