Gorgeous beach & warm staff make this a gem

My wife, 8-month-old daughter, and I stayed at the Alexandra Resort in June 2025. We had a nice time and would recommend it to fellow travelers. The beach is beautiful: white sands and crystal blue waters. The staff at the Alexandra are quite amazing. Ange & Sudion (sp?) at the “Truck Stop”. Anne, Samantha, Aaliyah (sp?), & Gloria at the Asu. And then the Coconut Bar with Kaelin (sp?). All of these ladies took great care of us, and SHOWERED our baby girl with love and attention. The food was delicious; no complaints from us. The drinks were crisp and refreshing: I Soon Reach is now one of my favorite all-time light lagers. Our lodging was very nice (a deluxe one bedroom suite in building #1), and housekeeping kept it in top shape each day.
Beautiful resort, bluest waters and softest sand!

We went with our college age kids in June. Resort did not feel crowded at all, but still a lot of kids in this age group. The rooms were so large and spacious. The staff were so friendly & housekeeping came daily. Very clean amenities. So many different food options. The jerk chicken on the beach was some of the best I have ever had! Tons of things to do. Lots of activities but rarely a wait for use of equipment. There were some families with small children, but not a lot. Nighttime entertainment was great. They had a movie night, one night a steel drum band another night and various themed parties between the Alexandra resort and the blue Haven resort. If you have college age kids, I definitely recommend the Alexandra resort because there are more people on this property. We did not book any excursions in advance. & we booked them basically the same day or the day before. We went parasailing and snorkeling and booked it right from our beach chairs on the beach! Overall a great experience, lots of bang for your buck!
Decent start, but not as advertised.

Initial report after 1 of 5 nights, with updates to follow. Overall resort is fairly spartan. The resort grounds are not meticulously curated and designed, as a true luxury resort is accustomed to providing. No welcome drink upon arrival. 2 bedroom partial ocean view is clean and comfortable. AC works very well. Room very sparingly appointed. No knickknacks, wall art or other things customary of truly luxurious resorts. Result is a cavernous feel. No blankets for pull out couch, but the bed inside is very comfortable. Kitchen ample sized, with no handtowels, paper towels, 1 ice tray in fridge, 2 coffee cups (there are 5 of us), 4 beers and 6 total sodas of 3 varieties pre stocked. 6 water glasses. Common 1/2 bath with no hand towel and once again, no decor. Bar and dinner last night was great. Solid spirit and cocktail options. Food at casual spot was very good. Service was efficient and friendly. Overall impression is average. Rooms need to be far more appointed and stocked than what’s currently available.
Wonderful Family Vacation

The atmosphere was great. The staff was very friendly, food and drinks were delicious, and the beach was breathtaking. The activity coordinators did an amazing job making sure everyone had a fun time. Rhazzor, Cheeky, Barbie, and Cameron led most of the activities that my family participated in. Some activities were: soccer, volleyball, karaoke, Mardi Gras party, bingo, musical chairs, family feud, couple question game, and drinking games. My family had a wonderful time and felt very welcomed. A few things to improve on: To make sure Fish Deck doesn’t run out of their dishes for the later reservations. Add fans to Black Rock to help with the heat and smoke circulation. Add more swings/expand the beach bar.
Beach and ocean are extraordinary. The rest is so-so.

My wife and I stayed at the Alexandra Resort for the past few days and just got back on June 3, 2025. Here is my honest review. The beach and ocean here is what shines. The beach is clean. The sand is soft and not harsh as it is in other places. There are always beach chairs available no matter what time of day you arrive. The ocean is clear and clean. Truly the clearest water I have ever seen. No rocks or debris hinders you way into the ocean. There is a gentle slope when entering. The water is warm and refreshing, with very little waves. The resort is fairly modern and while not luxury, it is accommodating. Our room was relatively clean and well appointed with everything that you would need while on vacation. an added bonus that we did not know about is an included washer and dryer in the room, along with microwave, full size sink, and refrigerator. The food here is hit or miss. The breakfast had a lot of choices, but not many that were appetizing. We stuck mostly to omelets or bagels. Lunch was usually good if you stick to cheese burgers or pizza. Dinner was usually above average. The steak house restaurant is very good and we ate there twice. highly recommended. Drinks were not good. All of the alcohol tasted he same. Some drinks were absolutely gross. All of them were watered down. I am not a big drinker, but I expect to be able to taste some alcohol. Not here. Very disappointing. The activity staff tried very hard, but mostly missed the mark. They ran some games on the beach and after dinner but were not very engaging. Now for the bad stuff. The staff here needs motivation. Most of the time 1 employee is running around totally frazzled while 6 others walk aimlessly pretending to be engaged in some task. Some of the staff just seem to be lost and have no idea what they are doing or where they are. I watched one waitress at the breakfast restaurant clear a table for service, then set it, then clear it again, then move chairs away from it, then bring them back for no reason that I could fathom. While initially pleasant, staff seemed annoyed if you asked for anything. Service is slow in all of the restaurants. I mean super slow. Like, my ice would totally melt in my drink before I even got to order my food. Every room is supposed to cleaned daily. Beds made, towels removed and replaced with new ones, you know the routine. It would have been nice if we had that one day out of the 4 we stayed. Every single day we had to ask for new towels and for our dirty ones to be removed. Drinks in the refrigerator are supposed to be stocked every day. They were not. I needed a plunger one day so I called down to the front desk. I am still waiting for that plunger. Luckily I saw a housekeeper outside who lent me one. On our second night there the air conditioner broke. Maintenance came up, looked at it and asked us to wait 20 minutes for it to come back on. It never did so we had to move our room at 10PM. We were given the absurd option of waiting until the morning which we declined. When we got to the new room we found it was missing towels and a few other things that we asked for but never got. We had to wait for the morning. Overall, if you like the beach, this is a great place, but keep in mind that the staff is listless and annoyed by your presence at times.
