unprofessional managers opened your doors without knocking

The lady at desk Bianca wang is very flirty and unprofessional upon checking in. I was getting impatient how fake and chatty she was , she shared that she used to be a housekeeping manager recently got promoted as a director at the desk by having an affair with her bosses. I told her that excuse me why am I hearing this ? she laughed, she then realized that I just wanted to get checked in right away after a long flight. Seriously, I don't want this lady to serve me again! Honestly, it seems like those managers at the desk and other departments became managers by associations and politics not due to their ability. Politics! Is this the professional services they are offering from Fairmont hotel Vancouver? Next day, during my stay the housekeeper who cleaned my room in the morning very nice. However in the afternoon while working in my room someone just opened my door without knocking ...there was a gentle man with suits&tie opened my door asking me how was my stay. Seriously ? I was terrified and said who are you? He told me that he is a housekeeping manager named Mahmoud Hassan just checking how was my stay? I told him that don't care what your position is and why are you opening my door without knocking ? He was still shocked that I was inside my room and apologized that he was about to check the status of the room. I couldn't believe what I was heard, He just apologized again insincerely and walked away. What a terrible stay and waste of money. I am writing this review to express how unpleasant of the stay had during my business trip in hotel Vancouver.

Good hotel but miss the ambience the hotel had 25 years ago!

We stayed two nights here had were given a lovely corner room looking out over the Art Gallery. The bathroom is small but well equiped with lovely toiletries. Very Comfortable bed and pillows. Blankets were supplied when we asked for some (the comforter is too hot in summer). WE stayed here about 25 years ago and the lobby area has changed - lots of shops and a modern style restaurant. We missed the charm and character that the old hotel had on our last visit. Some changes shouldn't be made when you had such a beautiful old hotel.

Nice hotel.

Very well located and nice hotel. I enjoyed the lobby and bar. The room met the Fairmont expectation of a luxury line. The bed and bedding was comfortable. The washroom amenities and products were nice. We would definitely return if we were in Vancouver again.

Great location, fantastic staff

Fantastic staff and great historic hotel. The staff were really helpful when it came to rescuing our delayed luggage from the airline and keeping us updated. The only downside was the lack of air con and warm room. We had to have the window in the room open at night, which meant that we got the noise of the city. All in all, great location and would definitely stop again.

Supremely Comfortable and Excellent Location

The best part of the Hotel was the Excellent Location with major streets and Malls very accesible . The lobby is a very refreshing place . The Room and Bed was very Nice and comfortable . Overall a very enjoyable experience Would Highly recommend .
