Stay at 1, Play at 5 - Guests of Moon Palace the Grand Cancun have access to the services and amenities of select sister resorts including Beach Palace, Moon Palace Cancun, Playacar Palace and Sun Palace.

Don't waste your time and money

Where do I even begin? My experience at Moon Palace was beyond disappointing. The staff seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than providing any sort of service. One of the “guest relation” personnel (Edgar) even argued with my wife and called her a liar! I am the last person to write a review, but I had to ensure everyone was aware. This place is a money grab; resort credit seems fantastic but not worth the headache. Transportation is trash. You want to enjoy a vacation, but you have to break your wallet. Our room was double booked the first night, and people walked in on us while we were sleeping. They were as embarrassed as we were. But we were able to get it figured out. Then, after we went to dinner, our room keys (wristbands) did not work for our rooms anymore. We have two children, 11 and 3 years old. We were stranded outside until 3 AM because the cart service stopped running. After all the stress and frustration from the company, they attacked my wife as if she were the antagonist. Instead of owning up to their shortcomings and making the guest happy, they call her a liar. This place is a money trap; if you want to visit a city that is 15 minutes away, it costs you $178 USD one-way, mind you.

We went with another family - 5 adults and 3 kids. We have been to several all inclusive in the Caribbean and this was by far the best. The Grande was spectacular in every way!! DO NOT let negative reviews scare you away - I really don't know how you can't have a good time at this resort. There was such a variety of things to do - so much that we didn't even book any excursions when there for 7 days. Between the pool options, entertainment at the family pool, tournaments, two different game rooms for the tweens AND nightly entertainment at the Grand Theater we were simply never bored. Our family LOVED the Karaoke lounge (which was open for kids/teens from 6pm - 9pm) - it was so much fun! You were also able to go to the other Palace resorts if you stay at the Grand which was a nice bonus to do one day. The food was very good at almost all the restaurants. I was not a fan of not being able to book restaurants before our trip and was leery about that but we luckily went on a week where the resort was not at full capacity so did not have a problem. There was one night we weren't able to book a restaurant for a party of our size so we ate at Tavola which did not require reservations (and the food was really good). I would recommend Le Chateau which was a great experience, Habibi, and Jade. Los Tacos was excellent for lunch as well. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone and will be coming back for more!
