Father Son Trip

Jesse F (Victoria, Canada) on Dec 13, 2025

Recently got back from our 3rd stay at Hyatt Ziva Cancun. This time was special as it was just myself and my 4 year old son. He has been to this resort a few times before and, while it has gotten a bit ridiculous in price, it really is the perfect family resort. The location with the multiple beaches and especially the calm North beach make it ideal for smaller children. My son spent HOURS on the beach and in the ocean with his bucket and shovels just letting his imagination lead him. Getting to watch him enjoy that as a parent is what it is all about. We stayed in the Club Tower and had requested a room ending in 01 and they delivered. We were given room 1501 which was awesome. Such beautiful views. We also did a Cabana each of the days we were there. It is another expense but having the home base to be able to keep our stuff, order food directly there, and have shade when needed just made my trip so much easier as a solo parent. Henvrik, Jaime, and Santos from the Cabana staff took care of us and it was so appreciated. Food was consistently good and the morning buffet option for breakfast had endless options. We enjoyed our dinners at Lorenzos and the teppanyaki at Moongate, as well as room service a few nights. Thank you for the great stay and for allowing me to make some memories of a life time with my son.

Lovely hotel, wonderful location

anneK1070DZ (Brentwood, United Kingdom) on Dec 10, 2025

Just come back from 8 nights at Hyatt Ziva Cancun with my teenage daughter. This is a lovely hotel with a fantastic location surrounded by sea, wonderful views. Spotlessly clean, the staff are really friendly and helpful too, nothing is too much trouble. We never had any problems getting a sunbed either (which is unusual on holiday!), there’s so much choice of areas to sunbathe that there was always spare sunbeds available all day, they are also really comfy and soft too. You can rent cabanas too but they’re a bit pricey. Mixed reviews for food, the plus side is you don’t need to make any reservations for dinner(just the 2 of us), we enjoyed the steak restaurant, the Asian and the Italian (although one night dinner was a small portion and tepid!). The buffet is ok for breakfast but very mediocre for evening meal. They also do special nights, Saturday was a Mexican night but the food was not great. We never got to try the American diner, coffee shop or Mexican on the beach so can’t comment on those. We stayed in room 2109 which overlooks the dolphins (they are lovely to watch from the balcony). The room was clean but smelt a bit damp and was a bit tired with a stain on the sofa bed, a mark on the table and the bath taps wouldn’t turn on plus rust near them. The 2 other showers were very good though, so we didn’t complain. Overall we had a great holiday and I would recommend this hotel. If you can afford to upgrade your room to a swim up I’m guessing that it would be worthy of it’s 5 stars
