Beautiful Resort

Allison P on Jan 09, 2026

My best friend and I just stayed at the Hyatt Ziva Cancún last week and we loved our stay! It was both of our first experience at an all inclusive resort so we didn’t know what to expect. We are two young women traveling and felt very safe and comfortable at all times. From the minute we walked into the resort we felt welcomed and were greeted by kind and enthusiastic staff. My friend has a severe coconut allergy and we were constantly reassured that any food and drink items served would be coconut free! The resort is very clean, beautiful and has lots of space to walk around and explore! There are multiple large pools with a swim-up bar, pool volleyball, and two hot tubs. One side of the resort has a smaller private beach with a shorter shoreline and you are able to rent cabanas for a very private beach area and an area with lots of chairs where anyone can access. On the other side of the resort is a LARGE beach area that people from other resorts in the area have access to. We enjoyed the large beach for the late morning/early afternoon one of the days. It wasn’t terribly busy and we had no issues finding a spot to lay in the sand without feeling crowded. The water is bright blue and crystal clear with white sand! The next day we rented a beach cabana and had an awesome server named Delfino! He was very attentive and kind! We chatted for a bit and it was nice connecting with him. Delfino was one of the many resort employees that always had a positive attitude and were extremely helpful. In the beach cabana area, there are about 4 cabanas side by side with privacy drapes/wooden slitted wall to enclose your cabana. They provided as many lounger chairs as needed which you can lay right on the shoreline! This area was very peaceful and relaxing because it’s just you and the few others who rented the cabanas, with your own little beach area! With the cabana we were provided lunch, a 5 minute face and neck massage (it was amazing), a snack and endless drinks! We were able to easily schedule a boat excursion at the resort and had the best time. We did the afternoon boat ride to Isla Mujeres and caught the most beautiful sunset at the island! The food at the resort was 7/10. I kind of expected that though for an All-Inclusive. On the other hand the breakfast buffet was very good! There was a HUGE variety of food with an intercontinental set up. The fresh juice bar had many juices that were delicious. Danny was our server each morning and was awesome! The best restaurant is right on the beach and called Habaneros. The fish tacos were so good and branched out to try the tuna tostada and loved it! My one “problem” with the resort is the dolphin inclosure but that’s because it makes me sad that they live there. They do seem to be cared for well though. Overall we loved our stay at Hyatt Ziva Cancún and would come back!

Poor Communication Spoils a Premium Experience

Navigate20254227346 on Jan 07, 2026

You might wonder why I am giving one star while everything else is five starts , let me explain As a Google Local Guide (Top 1%) who spends 200+ nights a year in high-end hotels and resorts globally, I have a very clear set of expectations for luxury service. Hyatt’s core value is to "care for people so they can be their best," yet my stay began with a stressful confrontation. Despite receiving 10+ pre-arrival emails—all of which I read—the resort failed to mention a mandatory dress code for dining. After a 4-hour flight and international travel, I was denied entry to a restaurant because I was not wearing a collared shirt (which I do not pack for a "relaxing" holiday). Unfortunately, my experience here started with a significant and avoidable frustration. I am a frequent guest at Michelin-starred restaurants and, in my professional life, I wear suits or collared shirts year-round. When I go on holiday, I look forward to relaxing. Despite receiving a high volume of pre-arrival emails from the resort—all of which I read—nowhere was it mentioned that certain restaurants required a collared shirt. After a 4-hour flight and the stress of international travel, being told I couldn't eat at a facility I’ve paid for because of a "hidden" dress code is unacceptable. The Issue: • Lack of Transparency: If a resort sends 10+ marketing and logistics emails, the dress code should be clearly stated in at least one of them. • Service Failure: At a $1,200 per night reality, the burden of "knowing the rules" should not be on the guest; it is the resort’s responsibility to inform. I travel the world and understand the "collared shirt" standard in fine dining, but in a resort environment, communication is key to a premium experience. To be blindsided by this upon arrival is poor management. I hope the leadership team reviews their automated guest communications to ensure future travelers aren't met with this unnecessary stress.

One of The Best Hotels In Cancun!

Michael D on Jan 07, 2026

We recently spent 10 days at Hyatt Ziva Cancun with our family of four, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. From morning through evening, the level of service and attention to detail from the staff was exceptional and consistently impressive. The food was outstanding—well above typical all-inclusive standards. The resort’s beaches are among the best in Cancun, particularly the northeast bay, which offers calm, wave-free water that is ideal for children. The abundance of private cabanas throughout the property eliminated the need to reserve pool chairs early, adding to the overall relaxation. The double-decker cabanas with evening fire features were a standout touch, providing a memorable way to enjoy the beach after sunset. Overall, our stay was truly exceptional, and we would not hesitate to return. The DoBush Family
