Amazing staff

The resort itself wasn't the best. It definitely needed some upgrades. What was impressive was the staff. We ate most of our breakfasts at Market Cafe Rosana, Kenia, Mario, Gaspar, Elizabeth, Ricardo and Albertos, they are what brought us back. Also Medalia Secrets "Entertainer" Raul. Was great. He made our pool volleyball game, and pool bingo fun. I would come back for the staff alone ????
Not worth the cost

Overall, the experience was fairly poor - the food was the worst I've ever had in an all-inclusive. It's a fairly low bar at all-inclusive resorts to begin with but this Secrets Aura found a way to disappoint me. Reading past reviews - I thought some may had been over exaggerated or hyperbolic - definitely not the case. The room had stains on all fabric, the room was musty, and the AC made loud noises constantly. Our sink ended up leaking over our bathroom floor and others in our party had similar situations happen with their sink or tubs throughout our stay. The door did not seal and led to hearing everything happening outside our room in the hallway. We had booked the swim up - ocean view premier club room. The premier club option was a bit laughable, separate check-in location and premier bar and snacks - about the same you would expect at an airline lounge. The cold foods were just sitting out though and uncovered with flies in the building. The food at Oceana restaurant on resort was awful. Most food we had during our stay was either bland, stale, or overcooked. Multiple days we attempted but found going off resort led to better options defeating the purpose of the all-inclusive nature of the resort. The only restaurant I thought was just alright was Gohan on resort. It was fine, the food tasted alright, comparatively it was better than anything else the resort had to offer. The Market Cafe for breakfast buffet was fine. Similar issues though with cold foods sitting out uncovered with bugs around them. The hot foods seemed fine. The service and people working there were great, I have nothing bad to say about the customer service of the resort but the value just isn't there when there are far nicer places in Cancun/Cozumel to stay.

Very pleased with our stay, Shout out to Robert at the preferred bar, and Kenya at breakfast, they were superb!! Our room was beautiful and very clean, restocked everyday. All of the staff was very welcoming and pleasant, we could been better informed with information on the daily activities, but other than that we will def be back!!
Run down and smelly

If it was 2005, this would be a great hotel. Run down and smells of sewage. The food was lack luster, the service was awful, the hotel repeatedly closed restaurants. We had multiple meals that came on dirty dishes. The VIP experience at the beginning of the trip was interesting. If you say no to their $30k vacation club, get ready to experience pressure. 90 minutes will quickly turn into 180 minutes. Stay away from this place!!!!!
Not this hotel. No en este hotel

(English below) Muy muy muy muy mala experiencia. English: Really very really bad experience. The air conditioning system isn't properly installed, it's very old, and it's very noisy and vibrates a lot at any time of day, even in the early morning. Upon arrival, we asked for a room change due to a foul odor. They kindly moved us from this room, which had a jacuzzi, to a smaller one without a jacuzzi and no foul odor. There was no rate adjustment. The bathroom is moldy, the bathroom door is sagging, and the water temperature in the shower is intermittent. To top it all off, the poolside restaurant's exhaust fan runs all day and all night without a silencer. Be careful with the restaurants: recycled food, minimal variety, no seasoning...and the specialty restaurants are the same condition. At Gohan, I ordered ramen and they brought me a sliver of Maruchan noodle soup with vegetables that had already turned slightly black from not being fresh. The same thing happened at the French restaurant. Totally disappointing for the price. It's better to go to a modern hotel in Playa del Carmen.
