When we got close to our trip I kept reading 2 very different reviews 5 stars all was perfect and 1 or 2 and worst ever and everything was closed. I am leaving 10/10/26 and here is what is happening. Secrets is older that is no surprise, we stayed in Preferred swim out and rest of our party stayed at Preferred regular building. Our room was a waste of money, our swim out went to a really nice pool, but no swim up bar. The preferred pool is nice, but older and swim up bar. You have to walk down beach to get there or walk through the back of hotel. Not an issue, but you should know. The beach restaurant and bar is under construction and not finishing any time soon. The restaurants are on rotation so not always open. Currently hotel is super slow so getting in was not an issue. The hotel is trying to step up, a lot of waiters get drinks and food. They also set up a beach make shift grill so hamburgers and hot dogs are available. Our room is old, but clean and bed is comfortable. Preferred rooms are nice and re done. Next door is Dreams and all is brand new. Super nice and restaurants are on rotation as well. Use the pool concierge or app to make reservations. Beach was great, but after one storm lots of sea grass and they are cleaning it up now. The ocean is great, but walking out is rocky so be prepared to walk slow or wear shoes. We opted for walk slow, but feet did get cut a few times. We dove and used Dive House and Salty Expeditions and all was awesome. I would stay again but wait 2 years for all to be redone This is our 3rd time here, so we will return but want to wait for construction to be done. There is construction going on but they are fine. My advise do to stay in swim up room, its just OK and the hall outside is like a freeways all night with carts and people and it will be loud, believe me. Just stay in another section of hotel. Everyone here is awesome and service is as great as can be. Food is OK, but it was good enough. Drinks are great and bartenders are awesome. Use Dreams, you will not be disappointed.

My wife and I went for our Honeymoon last year, stayed in a swim out room. The room was huge, clean and nicely decorated. The one and only issue we had was that the jetted tub took forever to fill up. Other than that, our visit was great, and the staff was amazing! Snorkeling on the beach was phenomenal, saw puffers, lionfish, rays, and many other fish. Take tour own snorkeling gear, it will be worth it! Can't wait to visit again! Beware of the UVC presentation, just say NO!

We accidentally left a valuable item in our room when we discovered that the next day unpacking we reached out at least 10 times and received zero assistance.

I have stayed at this chain numerous times including Secrets Aura in the past but will never book with this particular chain again. We were in 4 different rooms during our stay. 1st room we did not get what we booked, the second, when the air conditioner fan came on it smelled like sewer and the third, the shower door came off the top hinge and was falling in on me while getting out of the shower. Even though the door was made of safety glass, there were still shards of glass everywhere. The food was terrible. There was 1 good restaurant, the Pizzaria at Dreams.

Our room was dated. Different issues with no hot water, elevator broke down a day. Restaurants were not always open. We had excursions that cost extra but no inclusive activities. Food portions at reservation restaurants were very small.
