Initially, I was a little worried when we arrived. Some of the resort could use updating and the food is just okay. However, remembering what I paid for this trip, I realized what really mattered was enjoying the sun and sand, and time with friends. We went as a group of 8, most of us couples. I HIGHLY suggest opting into the Preferred status, as it allows you access to way more restaurants at neighboring resorts. I’ll start with the negatives: - Our first room was not great. There was sewer smell coming through the bathroom sink (inadequate p-trap), mold on the accordion pipe under the sink, and mold behind the bed that resulted in my husband’s allergies flaring up. We were moved to a different room that was much better. - Rooms are generally quite cold! The mini-split ACs and the humidity make it difficult to find a happy/medium with temperatures. But it was nice to have a remote to control the temperature from the bed! - Washcloths and bath mats were not frequently replaced. - Food was inconsistent - certain dishes and restaurants were fantastic, while some dishes and restaurants were not. (Seafood selection was a little lacking; New York Strip with red wine sauce at Oceana was a slab of beef with gravy on it; my friend said the Filet Mignon at Windows was great, though!) The positives- - The staff is phenomenal! I know that the lobby staff deals with complains all day, every day. But let me tell you, they handle it with grace. Pablo and Monserat were especially helpful for getting our room changed when we were dissatisfied with the cleanliness. - Arbey is in charge of entertainment at the resort, and he does such a good job with getting people to participate in volleyball and other activities! He’s also just a super fun guy. He made our week so much more fun than we could have ever expected! - Cristian and Angel were excellent pool bartenders, and very patient with my loud friends! - The gal in the coffee shop was so sweet! - Jonathan, the bartender at the Preferred Club, was very attentive and nice! - The beach, while very rocky, had great snorkeling. Additionally, we were never without chairs (in January!). I can’t say the same for the pool, but that’s okay. - The beach was also very clean! Never saw a bit of trash. (I can’t say that for American beaches!) - There’s only 1 water slide that actually works at the manatee pool, but it was so fun! We went down it many times! - The restaurant options were vast, as long as you were “preferred.” There were options for the pickier eaters in the group, and for the more adventurous eaters. (Highly suggest the sushi at Gohay, and rack of lamb at Bordeaux, and caramelized pear pizza at the Dreams resort pizzeria) - I’ll mention the staff again. They were so friendly, polite, and accommodating. Each person made me feel like they were genuinely happy to help me! All in all, an amazing trip with friends, to a place I would recommend to someone traveling on a budget! Cozumel is a beautiful island and I hope to be back someday! P.S. highly suggest checking out the Doña Chely restaurant right outside the resort. (Just head out of the gates, take a left, and it will be on your right. Walking distance.) We went twice and it was amazing.

I used to love going to this resort because the service was wonderful. Just not enough employees, and zero activities. Vicky at the pool bar is wonderful though!! But she was running her butt off to keep up. The staff is still wonderful, but the no activities and food made my decision to not come back.

This is not a 5 star but more a 2.0. It is old and poorly maintain. The quality of the food is below average, the preferred club supplement is not worth the money. There are 7 restaurants and everyday 2-3 are close. It is a nice location and i would recommend it if it was the price of a 2 star

The staff is amazing and all go above and beyond to make it a great stay. this is a quieter resort and not if looking for lots of activities. Resort itself is maintained with greenery but is at the point of updating. Showers always hot water and great! Restaurants all have amazing views! We spent 5 nights after spending 4 in Cancun and was a nice relaxing end to vacation.

The service was amazing, however the food was below average, the water in our room was barely warm and the entire resort needs a complete overhaul. Caulk and silicone don't fix everything. Again the staff is amazing, but everything else was a disappointment.
