The servers and all the people who work at this establishment are very friendly and accommodating. Still working kinks out but overall a good experience.

This Resort, lacks service, require some TLC. The lack of restaurants is a problem as there is only two and a buffet. Entertainment is subpar requires more bartenders and servers around the pool. Pool area is decent. Beach is beautiful. Don't get me wrong. There are many wonderful people at this resort however they take the brunt as they do not get enough help. Martha at the buffet was absolutely a sweetheart, and Z can't remember his whole name was wonderful as our server at the pool as well as Luis. Guadalupe in the lobby bar was absolutely wonderful as well.

This is an old Barcelo hotel and they were infamous for deferred maintenance. This owner is not doing better. We had a suite on the 6th floor. Immediate problems: 1. The screen doors don't slide and won't stay on the tracks. They are unable to repair. 2. They tub drain doesn't close. 3. The phone doesn't work. 4. The deck floods. 5. There is a coffee maker, but no coffee. There are 2 elevators for the entire tower, but only one is working. Sort of. Going up it always stops at the 4th floor, even if it is not selected. Sometimes it will go partway up to your floor, then go back down. They publish that they have three restaurants--Asian, Mexican and Italian. The Asian restaurant is closed with no estimated close date. The other two open on alternate nights, so there is only one restaurant operating. There is a buffet, but the food quality is marginal. The bright spot is the staff, everyone was helpful.

Staff were friendly and helpful . Zarel Perez gave exceptional service . Room cleaning staff were great , rooms were clean . Italian restaurant was excellent. Lighthouse Bar had a great view of San Jose .Bar staff were good but extremely busy . Food at the buffet was good but not always hot and the staff were extremely busy , Grounds & landscaping were well maintained although the resort needs some minor upgrading . Some paint , 4 of 6 elevators out of service , Jacuzzi jets worked sometimes but these were minor inconveniences. My only real complaint is that the wi fi / internet was always down . Couldn't connect most of the time so it really needs upgrading . I enjoyed the resort and except for a few minor inconveniences it was a great 10 day holiday .

Nice place, Friendly Staff, Lack luster buffet and some restaurant closures. No decent coffee in the room. Starbucks coffee shop on site open limited hours and costs extra. You can get coffee at the restaurants from around 6:30 onwards. Bring your mug. You can always find something decent to eat at the buffet but not a huge selection. Go early for breakfast if you want Bacon. The rooms are comfortable. Beds and pillows are comfortable. Bring your own sham shampoo and soap. Amenities are subpar. Pools are lovely. Difficult to get any chairs at the infinity pool as people in big groups reserve them at 5:00 a.m. Large amazing Beach area. Could walk for miles chairs available but undertow is too strong for swimming. A bit frustrating to reserve the dinner restaurants. We tried Francescos it was pretty good and nice service.
