Little Gem.

Connector825496 (Leduc, Canada) on Jun 27, 2024

We loved this gem of a resort. Our stay was 28 days. We were on the 8th floor, and loved the view. The staff were all amazing and very helpful. Everything was very clean. We’d love to book this resort again in January 2025 for 28 days again, but were told that they would be closed for major renovations. We’re having a hard time to find something that’s comparable.

Fun visit

Alistair N on Jun 14, 2024

My wife and I had a very nice time at the hotel. We met Santiago running activities by the pool. He was very nice and friendly and took us on a kayak tour to the close island reserve. Luna palace is a great place to stay in mazatlan. Take the bus or Pulmonia to the golden zone, it is close. The people at the front desk were very nice and helped us book the observatory and a boat tour.

Pleasant Stay

bulldoug85745 (Tucson, Arizona) on Jun 11, 2024

The newly remodeled rooms are very comfortable. For a 1BR unit it was nice to have to bathrooms w shower, two large, wall mounted TV's that included CNN and Fox News in English and a large refrigerator. Great views from the decks. Only problem was the loud noise on Monday night as they were celebrating 50 Year Anniversary of Oceano Hotel. It went on from 6or7 to Midnight. The sound was horribly loud and vibrations shook the wall hangings in the room. I rated Sleep Quality as poor due to the preceding comment. All the other nights were good and the bed was comfortable and surroundings quiet.

Very nice views of the ocean and nice pool BUT SUPER LOUD AT NIGHT WITH BANDS PLAYING FOR HOURS!

Marginal M on May 31, 2024

BANDS ARE TOO LOUD AND PLAY FOR HOURS OUTSIDE BALCONY Right on the beach, this place has amazing views of the sunset and the beach is well-maintained. There are nice straw tents to sit under and beach lounge chairs for hotel guests. The beach was pretty clean and the pool areas were also well-maintained. Overall we were very happy with our stay, BUT despite being quiet our first two nights, on the third night a band playing marching band drums, horns, and guitars played from 4 pm to 9 pm right outside our balcony. I was taking a siesta at mid-day and couldn’t go back to sleep because it was SO LOUD! The receptionist told me the band only had a permit to play until 8 pm but they definitely played past that time. Oceano Palace seems much busier and has more activities but we specifically chose Luna because it seemed to be a quieter hotel. Big problem is on Friday night the noise is intolerable. If you stay here don’t get a room facing the beach or bring the best ear plugs you can buy!

Quiet, well-kept property, comfortable bed

vlaurend (Los Angeles, California) on Apr 10, 2024

We stayed at the Luna Palace for 3 nights to see the April 8, 2024 eclipse, having moved our reservation from the Star Palace to the Luna Palace just a week before our April 6 arrival, thanks to a few rooms suddenly opening up at the Luna. There were a few things about our room that disappointed us but we're giving it 5 stars anyway, as we were happy to have gotten a room there and would probably have been able to request a different room under normal circumstances. The room we were assigned was #1003, which was on the ground floor facing the pool. This was a handicapped accessible room, which might have been why it wasn't released until a week before the big influx of guests. The good: Beautiful big apartment with a comfortable king bed, 2 full bathrooms and 2 foam sofas in the living room that people could also have comfortably slept on. A full-sized refrigerator & freezer, a drip coffee maker (we brought our own filters and ground coffee), a microwave and a stovetop with two induction burners. It was very convenient to exit our room, take a right and exit right out to the pool area. The heated pool was very nicely kept, with a couple of slides for the kids and immature adults like us. The property was surprisingly quiet at night, with the bandas on the beach only making noise during the day. The bad: Zero privacy, since our patio and bedroom window were right next to the pool area and our only options were to have our black-out curtains open and have everyone see us in our room or to have them closed and have the room completely dark with no view. We had really been looking forward to the ocean view promised in the room description but the ground floor rooms aren't high enough to get an ocean view; you just see the pool. The weirdest thing about our stay was that there was a sign in the kitchen saying guests would incur a 60 peso fee if we didn't wash our own dishes, but they provided no dish detergent, dish sponge/cloth or paper towels for us to wash them with! So we just washed them with hot water and a washcloth from the bathroom, all the while hoping the maid hadn't just left us the "clean" dishes from the previous guests who had also had no dish detergent to use. There did not seem to be a dinner restaurant open on the property when we were there, but there were fortunately some decent restaurants down the beach (we went to La Costa Marinera for a sunset dinner) and the Austin BBQ place across the street was very good, too.
