Worse Place Ever

Roxylag (Oceanside, California) on Mar 15, 2022

Disgusted with the staff at front lobby, the roaches, smell of mold and the filth of this place. After calling the main lobby so many times they decided to listen to us and replace the door knobs on both sliding doors, complaint about the smell of mold and the leak on the entire kitchen, they blamed us, stating we had left doors open, something that we never would do because of risk of having our placed robbed. They finally determined that there was indeed a leak by this time we were in the unit 3 days and had unpacked all items and purchased groceries, not to mentioned have a minor and one infant. Management did not care when we first pointed this out!! Left 3 days prior, WE WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HORRIBLE DUMP.

Another GREAT Experience, Room, and Amenities

kcirbodmot (Chandler, Arizona) on Mar 13, 2022

We had a 1 BR reservation and were assigned to Room 3001, on the west end of the resort directly overlooking the beach. Paola and Dennise at the front desk were always friendly, gracious, and accommodating. Every day, we looked forward to interacting with Jesus, the bellman, who made us feel right at home. Angelica Guevara, the concierge (over at sister resort Oceano Palace) helped us with every detail in setting up our tour of the historic and charming Observatorio Mazatlan. Nein and Michael at the restaurant were attentive, helpful, polite, and courteous. I only regret that I did not get the name of the cheerful short-order cook who prepared our omelettes when we took advantage of the breakfast buffet. The room itself was VERY spacious and well-appointed; the mattress on the king-size bed was firm enough for me but soft enough for my wife (which is rare). The location of the resort is as good as it gets in Mazatlan, and we have been traveling there and staying at various resorts for the last 25 years. Their secure on-site parking was a deciding factor for us, and we were very pleased to be able to stay there for the second time in the last 5 years. There is some ongoing remodeling of the entire first floor units, but all the noise was during normal business hours, when we normally were out and about anyway. We peeked into a couple of those rooms, and it looks as though they will turn out to rival the remodeled rooms next door at Pueblo Bonito.

Beautiful 1 Bdrm with 2 balconies, pool & beach

Getaway661645 on Jan 06, 2022

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at the Luna Palace in early December. Comfortable king bed. Full size fridge and the 2 burner hotplate worked well. Pool was warm with lots of loungers and palapas on the beach, and the beach is FANTASTIC. The duelling Banda groups are competing further down the beach (thankfully) . Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. We liked La Mazatleca for breakfast and seafood, Los Zarapes for Sunday Dinner Specials. Also La Katrina, right across the street for Hora Feliz and live music. Bus stop right out front to take you to Historico Centro and Plaza Machado. This hotel is nice and quiet, so if you don't care for the mega all-inclusive vacation industrial complex, then you'll really enjoy the Luna. Paula at the front desk was great, very friendly and helpful. Antonia our housekeeper, always did a beautiful job of cleaning our suite. Thank you both. The only comment I'd like to bring to the attention of the hotel is about their pool bar Hora Feliz from 5 - 6pm. I think it's too late, (especially with sunset at 5:20pm) and was usually poorly attended. Most people are coming back from a day out or preparing to start dinner or getting ready to go out for dinner. We liked another hotel's Happy Hour from 1 - 2 pm. We enjoyed a few drinks and usually ordered lunch or snacks. The Luna's pool bar was very quiet over lunch time and rarely did we see anyone ordering food. We're booked to come back for next winter and hope the hotel introduces a lunch Hora Feliz, we'll stick around spend some pesos.

Easy beach access

bucketlist1970 (San Diego, California) on Jan 04, 2022

We stayed at Luna Palace, Mazatlan, as a couple for a week in Dec. 2021, via a timeshare exchange. The Good: Its a small, beachfront hotel and all rooms face the ocean, very easy to access the beach. The pool is heated and pleasant. Many rooms have a kitchenette, ours had a full size fridge, microwave, toaster, utensils, plates.bowls.cups and 2 burners. Very easy to go across the street to convenience store. The staff is helpful and professional., we were not asked to attend a presentation which was great. The Bad: A few clubs have opened across the street and there was very loud club music from approx. 9 pm to 2:30 am every night. Closed window and earplugs were not enough. Like most hotels, there is a reduction in services b/c of covid (activities, restaurant). The facility is showing some age.
