Excellent Family Resort, Clean Apartments

Sean H on Jan 05, 2026

We spent 7 days with out kids and 4 grandkids, aged 5 and under.  Very clean, lovely, friendly staff, can't say enough about the staff here, excellent. 2 room apartment [1 bedroom with 2 beds, 2 bathrooms, large living room, kitchen, deck]. Perfect kids' pool, just yards from the building Lovely beach a minute from the pool. Lots of pool and beach chairs available, no people hogging them all day. Very quiet during the daytime, low key music, no rowdy behaviour. 3 other associated hotels nearby that are part of the all-inclusive package.  Bars, restaurants within a few minutes walk. Excellent taco place next door.  Safe area to walk around. Would recommend the bed and breakfast package, not the all-inclusive because: 1. Breakfast omelettes very good, never any big lines. But outside of breakfast, small [boring]menu for other meals and if you order anything outside the small all-inclusive menu, there is extra cost. 2: The fridge is not stocked with beer, unusual for all-inclusive. 3. We noticed people with their own Styrofoam cheap coolers with beer around the pool, no issues from the staff. Even though we had all-inclusive, we ended up buying beer nearby, and bringing in outside food to our apartments [perfect for the kids] or eating in nearby restaurants.  Not super-fancy,  still perfect for families and/or older folks.

Overlooked gem!

tessieleed on Jan 03, 2026

Though not a grand reception area like its neighbors Ocean Palace or Pueblo Bonito MZT, we liked many things about the simpler Luna. First, it is not huge. It is very clean. Staff friendly and accommodating. We did not do all-inclusive, only breakfast, and it was quite good. Never a line. Most important for families, it is on the area of MZT beach that is the best. Waves not too big, great for kids. Ample chaise at pool and enough at palapas. Everyone working hard to keep it all top-notch, from the Gardner to the pool cleaner. Pool cleaner never finished til around 10:00, so we just did the ocean first! I liked that no one could drive in without going through security. TV and remote worked. Bed linens new. When I could not get one light to work, they sent the facilities man within ten minutes. No complaints!

It was an absolute pleasure and wonderful experience staying at Luna Palace Mazatlan. Raymundo in activities and Ricardo were always keeping us entertained. We will be looking forward to staying here again ??

The perfect getaway for sun and beach

Anne-Marie R on Dec 13, 2025

Luna Palace was exactly what I needed. We got a great off season deal and were very satisfied with the value. Located a bit further north meant you don't get the crazy crush of tourists, so its quiet and so peaceful. The beach was perfect for lounging and jumping in the sea to cool off. The pool was lovely too, and meticulously clean with too many chemicals. The breakfast buffet was lovely and had a lot of Mexican choices as well as standard American type things. Highly recommend the chilequilles (the green was lovely and flavorful without being spicy) and sweet corn tamales. The fresh fruit was especially delicious. We ordered off the limited restaurant menu for lunch a dinner a couple times and it was well prepared. The room was large and kept clean. The kitchenette had minimal tools but we managed :) we ate out mostly so the super dull knife was merely amusing ;) During our 10 day stay, we used the local busses and went to the Mercado several times (avoid Wednesday cruise ship day!) for shopping and amazing restaurants, we went to the aquarium (holy moly! Could have spent two full days there at least!) And the local grocery store for bottled water and snacks, easy peasy, the front desk staff told us which busses to take. I'd like to give a special shout out to the staff who were so gracious and patient as we tried to use our clumsy Spanish. Most spoke English and Google translate took care of the rest. Nelly at the front desk, Anna Sophia and Jose Raul at the restaurant stood out but everyone was lovely. Lastly I saw a review that said there wasn't hot water... just a heads up, the faucet in our shower was backwards from what we are used to, so the nice maintenance guy came up and showed us how to get screaming hot water in the shower and didnt laugh at us hardly at all :) All in all, hope to make a stay at Luna Palace a regular pilgrimage. I can't recommend it highly enough.

A great place to stay

Nirmala S (Langley, Canada) on Apr 25, 2025

My husband and I love exploring Mazatlan This was our first time staying at the Luna Palace and we greatly enjoyed our 9 days stay here Breakfast was included in our package and because April is low tourist season, breakfast was made to order from a menu and everything was fresh and tasty. The room was clean, remodeled and included a kitchenette with a full size fridge; the beds were very comfortable.also. The grounds and the pool were well maintained The beach was lovely and peaceful, not too many Mariachi bands playing this far up the beach. There’s a bus stop very close to the resort and for 13 pesos a bus ride, we were able to comfortably travel and sightsee. Feliciano, the gentleman who works at the front entrance was very helpful with answering any questions we had especially on which buses to take. The staff in general were all very friendly and we were always greeted with smiles by the breakfast staff. This is definitely a resort I will stay at again.
