Fantastic stay

Dianna R on Jul 19, 2024

We had a fantastic stay at Melia Puerto Vallarta as a family of 9 with 3 young children. Customer service was amazing by all the staff, especially Yolo and Guadalupe from the front desk. They checked in with us throughout our trip to ensure our stay was going great. The rooms were clean and everything worked great in them. The garden view has a view to a beautiful fountain so you are not looking at just bushes. The pool was clean and it was huge so it never felt crowded. The food was great at the restaurants, especially mole restaurant. The only thing that could improve would be to have AC at the restaurants as it gets pretty warm in there and also to the reservation system for the a la carte restaurant as you had to use a coupon to book for the next day so we never got a chance to try it. The buffet was good enough though and the food changed enough that we never got sick of it, especially the marlin ceviche. Thank you Melia and the lovely staff, we look forward to coming back again soon!

Meliá trip 2024

Hannah G (Fortuna, California) on Jul 07, 2024

We went to visit Puerto Vallarta with family and chose Meliá for the ratings and location. It was only 10 minutes from the airport. We were a large group and were there for 7 days and 6 nights. The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the buffet style and food options. Our kids enjoyed the infinity pool and we were right one the beach. There were plenty of activities to keep your family entertained all day. The service was incredible and we enjoyed our visit. We will most definitely visit again. Guadalupe was the manager who checked in with us towards the end of the trip. I appreciated how she took the time to ask us about our visit and take into consideration our opinions and what they can improve.

Our Experience at Melia PVR

Darren B (Smithville, Missouri) on Jul 06, 2024

We booked this as a spur of the moment trip over 4th of July week. I, like others had some concerns based upon the other TA reviews prior to arriving. But factoring in the Melia brand, our “premium room status” and frankly the cost, we thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did. Yes, the resort is showing its age in some instances but I feel the staff worked tirelessly to keep things clean and in working order. I gave this a review a “5” because the staff. From arrival to departure we felt taken care of appreciated. Keep in mind this is not a 5 star resort nor are you paying for a 5 star resort. The food and drinks Mole - dinner was ok. I ordered the mahi mahi and it wasn’t good. We ate breakfast there 2 days and it was good. The buffet - we enjoyed the buffet for breakfast and dinners as the variety changed nightly and there was always something that was appealing to eat. Didn’t make it to the Fish House. The food was good - you are at an all inclusive - set your expectations accordingly. As for the drinks, with our “premium room category” we had access to premium liquor. Usually we’d ask for it and all the bartender needed was our room number to account for it. The room Our room was quiet, clean, the a/c worked very well and the fridge was stocked daily. I do not like the tub/shower combination but this is a product of the properties age. The water was always hot when needed. The highlight of our stay was the swim up bar. Shout out to Jose who suggested the mango Margarita on the rocks. He works so hard and maintained his friendly attitude no matter how busy it was. I’ll also have to give mention to Cesar, pool side waiter who always had a smile and was always checking in on us! Lastly - Victor at the Bell Desk. From bringing our bags to the room to keeping us informed regarding the “cab prices”, he had such a great attitude and was genuinely helpful. My only wish is that when the property is rehabbed, Melia includes an Adults Only section in the pool. We’ll definitely be back due to the staff, the location and the price.

LGBTQ Couples' Experience at Melia Puerto Vallarta in June 2024

Matthew C on Jun 14, 2024

Back home after a week spent at Melia Puerto Vallarta. Truthfully, we would have been happy to come home by day 4. Sadly, this was not a resort for us. It was off-season for Canadian & American travelers. While the resort itself was decently busy, it was tough to meet other North American travelers. Puerto Vallarta, as a city, has a lot to offer. We are first time travelers to PV and discovered a lot of terrific restaurants, culture and sights off the resort. I would caution folks to really research Puerto Vallarta ahead of time and decide what kind of traveler you are and what you are looking for. The resort itself is in major need of a facelift. A lot of the accommodations are extremely dated. The one saving grace for us at this resort was that the service staff really was incredible. I felt all of them went out of their way to be polite and attentive. Would not stay at this resort again. But I also realize that PV is not exactly an "all-inclusive" destination. If you are an LGBT traveler, I strongly recommend avoiding any resorts close to the airport. If you really want to enjoy your vacation, stay in or around Zona Romantica. We were there just about every day.
