A Solid C Resort

klpopp (Sacramento, California) on Dec 15, 2025

For an all-inclusive there’s really not a lot to do there. The activities directors appeared to be doing a good job with kids, but adult activities were limited. They do have some water sports equipment, paddleboards, kayaks and such, so I guess one could do more. One of the reasons we chose this resort is that they have Palapas instead of umbrellas on the beach and around the pool. What we didn’t know was that the were a bit smaller than they should have been. Much of our day of doing as little as possible involved repositioning our loungers as the sun moved. Larger palapas are better palapas! Our room was okay, we had a large suite with a nice balcony facing the bay and a cool little tub out there. Nearly everyday I would have to track down housekeeping for a variety of supplies, like new towels, coffee capsules, toilet paper. The place is getting pretty rundown, decks disintegrating, palapas disappearing into the sand, just generally getting old and needing some refurbishing and TLC. The buffet was terrible. Hot food was warm, cold food was warm. Other guests ignored admonishments to use tongs and such, both in the buffet and the snack bar. Everything I ate at the snack bar left me wishing I hadn’t. We ate the majority of our meals at Mole and Tacos, where the food and service were excellent. The other reason we chose this resort was because of its proximity to the marina, where Victor’s Tacuba restaurant is. We went there for dinner, bypassing our all-inclusive meal.

Misrepresentation

jk0rba (Beaumont, Canada) on Dec 14, 2025

They advertise 3 restaurants listed, but neglect to mention that you need to pay extra to “upgrade” for the 3rd restaurant and premium alcohol, they offer it at check in for an extra $40 US per day. Long lines for the lobby bar and buffet, bathroom taps are old and hard to turn on and off, brown water when you first turn on the shower. The staff at the buffet and pool area were amazing though! Rate we paid was too much for the quality we received.

Beautiful sunsets and surroundings

joyce s on Dec 13, 2025

This hotel is in the Marina area. Very authentic Mexican decor in the lobby and surrounding area. Spacious and breezy. Service was excellent and friendly throughout. Smiles everywhere. Our room was spacious with a king sized bed. The linens and towels were designer and luxurious. Housekeeping does a thorough job and even made little bows on our toilet paper. We had a lovely view of the ocean and coastline from our balcony. Note that there are only two restaurants plus a buffet for three meals. Mole and Taco and Fish house require reservations. We found both enjoyable but because of sunsets we ate more delicious meals at Fish House by the beach. Rubin is a great server and conversationalist. The bartenders are expert servers as well. They make the rounds on the beach and palapa areas many times. We had no problem securing a palapa around 9-9:30 daily. There is an upper level where locals cannot sell to you that had a perfect view of the ocean. Or you can be below. This is not a beach for long walks as it is blocked after 3 hotels. My only negative is there is no expresso or cappuccino coffee bar in the morning. There is percolator coffee in front of the buffet restaurant. Miguel is the manager and will be most helpful for all your needs. Lines can be long because you are shown to your table-a practice that seems nice but holds up the line. Guest services are readily available for and help or questions. Alberto Sandoval will go above and beyond to serve your needs. My last negative is the music at the pool. We were there to rest and recover from life. Music that is too loud with a heavy bass is very annoying. Lowering the volume would have been nice. Although it is quite zen when first turned on, it seems to blast as the day goes on. I did send management an email months before my arrival to ask for the type of room I wanted as it was our 49th anniversary. They did deliver. All in all it was still an enjoyable week.

You will be a returning guest !

Diane M (Hamilton, Canada) on Dec 09, 2025

A quaint hotel with all the amenities. Smaller in size which means everything is easy to access. Very clean and well kept . Rooms are spacious in the tower which are newly renovated . Staff are friendly and very attentive . Upgrading to an ocean view is worth it. Views are stunning . Food is fantastic! Such a great variety. Would have been nice to have more than 2 ala cart restaurants but the buffet was always enjoyable The Malecon and the marina are fun places to visit . The most authentic people , food and sites . We will be back PV
