Won’t be returning

Cake4k3 on Jul 18, 2024

Not welcomed, suitcases just removed from coach and bellboys standing around avoiding eye contact. After a shamus travel and small children it wasn’t the start we expected. It got worse. If you are melanated, watch your back. Overt rascism from staff. They don’t even try to hide it. Learn some Spanish. The cart drivers to the beach weee lovely. Not luxury but an average hotel. Not worth the price tag. Not all that glitters is gold- beneath the surface, it’s pretty basic. The castles are the pool bar, 2nd buffet restaurant and the kids club. So no, you aren’t getting a theme park/ experience, they are just shells. Mosquito mania My family and I got seriously unwell. Not sure if food or something in the room but read the recent news reports- especially if you are black/ Asian. Food was hit and miss even in a la carte. Tepanyaki was a great experience but basically fried rice and a protein. Rushed out, I literally turned my back to check my baby and my plate was removed and scraped in under 5 secs. Then they tried to demand a tip. A joke. Book in advance. We had to fight for our bookings together as in seperate rooms and the app crashed which is a known issue apparently. Room is fair but haggling for mini bar stock with young children is boring after day 2. Drink the “juices” at your risk, pure diabetes in a glass. Found the only decent bar whilst waiting for our coach transfer to leave and it was in reception.

Beautiful but boring

xlucyx5 (Tipton, United Kingdom) on Jul 17, 2024

Beautiful resort rooms could do with a little Decoration as walls are marked and stuff, however pools beach lobby’s restaurants are all lovely! Buffets are below average the food is Luke warm at best. Restaurants was lovely thali was our favourite! Service is poor around the lobby and pool to get drinks I had staff ignoring me and then laughing when I was stood up the bar I did report to management and they handled it. However there was one waitress that went above and beyond for us her name was Angelica she was fab nothing was too much trouble for her we had a laugh and joke with her aswell we missed her on her days off. Entertainment wasn’t English was all Spanish apart from Canadian day and Independence Day so this ruined it a bit for us. Overall we did hav a nice holiday but we wouldn’t return to this hotel.

Great for family

MARCUS C (Saint Louis, Missouri) on Jul 15, 2024

Great for family, not for couples. 2 water parks, mini golf, numerous pools with shallow water. Food is average to good at buffet, good to above average for kids selection. Ice cream and icees everywhere. Reservations are tough as all resorts. We did the Hiabachi and its not for small kids. Rooms are average, little old, but its less expensive, so not complaining. You need an extension cord with Multiple plugs without a ground plug. Everyone needs non slip water shoes for slippery marble decks

Bahia Principe Fantasia - A Must Go To Resort

Valarie W (New York City, New York) on Jul 14, 2024

The Bahia Principe Fantasia was a great trip! The people that work there are AMAZING. Martha, a representative was the BEST, she had such a kind spirit. Raefella did my massage and it was the beyond a satisfying experience. Christemel was great and Rosa from the Family Concierge Department was soooo friendly, she literally greeted me with a beautiful smile every day! The food was great also. Yes, it's buffet food (for the most part), but it was tasty, fresh and plentiful! The head chef over at the Lobby Restaurant (I think that was the name of the restaurant nearest to the front lobby) even came out one night during dinner service to check on how everything was going. He stopped over at our table, and we could tell he took such pride in the food he was preparing. The bartender over at the Lobby was also AMAZIN (I forgot his name, but he had the bald head and was very competent with making amazing drinks). Lastly, I would also say this resort is very clean, safe and family oriented. We traveled as a family of 9, which included 3 kids (3 years old, 12 years old and 16 years old). I would say my teens probably would have preferred another resort since there were a lot of kids around, however, I do think they enjoyed themselves as it's DR...and you can't go wrong! Who doesn't love palm trees, great pools, great food and wonderful people!!
