The hotel overall is great, the food is lovely, staff are friendly, helpful and so hard working. We upgraded to privileged, you get a few perks like 10% off in shops and 24hr room service and the rooms are better. Maria Bel’en and Masibel were outstanding in welcoming to buffets, always a big smile ?? Halloween was fantastic, so much thought went into decorating and food, they thought of everything. Will definitely come back.

+ the resort itself is nice + the layout, plenty of space + variety of food + premium Jr suite is spacious +clean +staff is quick to respond when issue -food is just meh, could be more flavourful -soundproofing is lacking especially on the ground floor -housekeeping is loud in the morning -shower is tiny -no place to hang dry clothes in the room -ran out of beach towels daily Party of 7, 4 rooms. Many staff members’ English or French was lacking. 2 rooms had toilets that malfunctioned. Maintenance was quick to come fix them.
BEWARE A POOR 3*AT MOST ANIMAL LOVERS BEWARE

Beware this resort lacks quality of any kind. From food to cheap alcohol. Calling themselves eco now and I am all for helping the environment, but this is cost cutting plane and simple. so changed from plastic bottles for water in the rooms to glass, however this doesn'teffect soda which is still plastic, but no where to refill water once beach and pool bar closed. Also glass in these areas is dangerous and no working air con!! To many things wrong with our room, beware we booked a preferred suite with Tui, but these don't exist when you arrive they offer a privilege option which is different!! Final straw for me, there was a very tiny white and black dog, very vulnerable as had pups recently. Everyday at the beach this little dog would crawl under a sunbed and just sleep, never interfered with anyone, was getting lots of cuddles because it was so cute. On this particular morning the dog approached us we stroked it and it followed us across the beach, at this point 2 beach guards jumped out at us and asked for our help to capture the dog, as it was not well and needed to go to the vets. Being concerned for this animals welfare we agreed to help and placed a make shift lead around it's neck. The guards then pounced on this poor defenseless dog and I can still hear it's screams in my ears, a sound I will never forget, they must have really hurt it, they were laughing. I asked another member of staff where the dog was being taken and was told they had been instructed by management to remove dogs and it would be dumped some way from the resort. I was heartbroken and couldn't believe I was complicit in this stinking act. I made a complaint to the Management who then started to treat me as an imbecile and said she had been taken to a village inland to be reunited with her pups. Despicable liars!!! For all I know this poor defenseless dog may already be dead and maybe her pups to. So if your asked for help it won't be fir a genuine reason We will never return or recommend the Catalonia group, not to be trusted.

Family holiday

Have been coming to Domrep for 15 years and many times to the Catalonia and also the Royal side when im not with children. This year i introduced 2 families to this resort who have never visited and they both loved it! Stayed in privilege and was delighted to see the bar open to 11pm as it is cooler to sit there than main bar. Staff as always nicest people everyday. Shout out to pure bar ladies who kept our glssses filled all day. Also jessica in swim up who has a constant smile while managing to serve 3 customers at a time! Hector in lobby bar, made us feel special, santa, noel and jordy in beach restaurant. These people and others make this resort. Some feedback for you, 3 times had to call reception as either towels or fridge not replenished, was sorted immediately but should not have to ask, 3 of the 6 rooms didn’t have hairdryer, 2 didn’t have iron so felt this was a bit hit and miss. Buffet restaurant felt understaffed and far too hot, spent most nights in a la cartes. Both buffets seem to not have enough plates and swim up bar constantly running out of glasses. Maybe extra busy as adult side one closed so maybe use their glasses and staff that are not being used there. No towels left in room as privilege and no late check out, again was part of the benefits. Again none of this spoilt my holiday but started to see the cracks in what was a great service. Upset that no mango in restaurants and paella, this used to be available daily, also no mojitos for 3 days, Booking restaurants was easy and never had an issue, key cards on wrist band excellent idea, I was there during the hurricane in 2022 and so happy to see the place is back to its former glory. Well done to you all.
