Absolutely amazing stay at Ziva Cap Cana

I simply can’t say enough good things about my stay at the Ziva Cap Cana. My sisters and I went for a girls getaway before the busy holiday season starts. The staff is absolutely amazing. The resort is gorgeous, and the food is delicious. You would never know that this is a family resort. While they were plenty of kids, it was absolutely enjoyable for adults. The Hyatt Ziva/Zilara is my absolute favorite all inclusive chain highly recommend for anyone looking for a getaway to a tropical location. I would like to call out a few of the amazing staff members including Elvin, Elise at the Navigator, Julio at Noodle and Thread and Oxnard for the painting on the beach. My sister’s and I are already planning a return trip to the Ziva Cap Cana. This is a great location for families or adult travelers. Go, you won’t be disappointed!
Sleepy, tranquil, quiet place

Hyatt Ziva is a nice small/medium size sleepy resort. Very easy to get around, clean, and quiet. This resort is perfect for families with young kids. Definitely lacking if you have teenagers. The Teen Club is overrun with children under the age of 10 and their parents. I can see why teens wouldn’t want to hangout there. The staff really stepped up and played volleyball, basketball, ping pong and soccer daily with my athletic teens. Nelson, Elvin and Amado really made my kids’ vacation enjoyable. The waterpark was fun. The water sports were lackluster. It’s irritating that people would sign out the hobie cats, SUP and the kayaks and not use them during their allotted time. Which meant no one else could use them either. The hotel should invest in snorkelling equipment, zip line, rock climbing wall, and beach swings like the neighbouring resorts. The Kids Club was clean and had a lot of fun daily activities. The staff were inviting and attentive. My youngest really enjoyed participating in indoor and outdoor activities and the resorts nightly movie night. Rooms were clean, and towels were changed twice daily. Housekeeping came twice daily once for a general clean and then nightly for turn down services. They did a fantastic job throughout our 11 days stay. My only complaint is the hotel needs more housekeepers. Housekeeping came by daily between noon and 6pm, 6pm is too late, which meant turn down service was provided at around 9 or 10pm. The rooms were spacious and we really enjoyed the balcony. Even with low or high occupancy the hotel, pools or the beach never felt crowded. We never had to wait to be seated at any restaurants. Our family eats dinner early, so that might be the key to zero wait time. The food was a solid 7/10, which is amazing for an AI. I do have high expectations when it comes to food and drinks. We were never disappointed by the food, the only exception was the sports bar. We ate multiple times at Brando’s, Waves, Prontoz and Noddles and thread. We also enjoyed Tempest, Journeys, Navigator and the evening bbq on the beach. Don’t sleep on El Mercado, especially for breakfast. Their made to order stations were a pleasant surprise. We really enjoyed the Juan Carlos at the Crepe station and the staff at the Omelette and Eggs Benedict station. Alfredo went over and above to provide such extraordinary service. We enjoyed sitting in his section multiple times. The drinks were good, especially at the One Eyed Cat, Timbers and the Club bar. Make sure you attend the Guest Bartending daily at Timbers. Jesus, the head bartender, makes exceptional drinks. He has his own menu, and makes drinks according to your flavour profile (sweet, sour, fruity, bitter, spicy, etc…). His drinks were second to none. Santa and Amanda provided great poolside service. The staff at the coffee shop were warm, friendly and patient. It was always busy and buzzing with kids. My kids loved the coffee shop. If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet, tranquil vacation the Hyatt Ziva is a safe choice. The attentive staff is the best part of this resort.
Favorite all-inclusive in the Caribbean!

This family-fun destination also feels like a wellness retreat! The coffee bar is amazing, the water aerobics with Jose was so much fun (20 minutes; I wish it were longer!) and yoga on the beach with Angie was so serene. The water slides kept our kids busy for hours. The resort is about a 15 minute drive from the airport which was nice. We've visited twice and we will be back! Thank you for everything.

Great Trip

Overall very nice. Food is decent for an all inclusive. Lots of activities. Nice pools. Very gracious staff. Elvin offered some great entertainmen; he kept the guests very involved. They even pay attention to smells, which is a nice, elegant touch. Club bar was netter than the regular pool bar. The building we stayed in is starting to show its age a bit.
