Don’t waste your time or money

dominiquerivens (Upper Marlboro, Maryland) on Jun 15, 2024

Man I don’t like to talk bad about things personally. But my experience at Live Aqua Beach Resort Punta Cana has been less then desirable. For the money I paid. I been here since Saturday. Had my room changed cause it was trash. They upgraded me and that room had blood on the sheets. The room service tried to steal my personal drinking glass. The food is so so at best. The liquor is definitely watered down. The staff friendliness is hit or miss. Like overall I seen high marks on this place before I booked so I was hyped But now I can’t wait leave. It’s a definite no for me and my coins

Vegan experience/food guide at Live Aqua

Regan B on Jun 15, 2024

I'm vegan and my non-vegan boyfriend and I chose Live Aqua for our 4-night all-inclusive trip because it specifically quoted vegan options under their accommodations to dietary restrictions. Overall, my experience with the food was really great and I definitely did not go hungry! Almost all of the staff were very helpful, accommodating and made my experience so special. I felt like a bit of a celebrity at times because by the second day, some of the staff would recognize me and always made sure I was well taken care of and well fed! Because they don't give access to menu options until you check in, I thought I'd create a bit of a guide here for the options I found, some key highlights and tips: Breakfast/Lunch: Liberi Buffet: For the main food hall we were greeted by the Manager, Rosa, on our first morning by chance, and she gave me a tour of all the options. Most of thee were pretty straight forward (i.e. fruits, veggies, bread, juices, smoothies, salad, some rice and bean dishes). Pretty much every self-serve options is also labelled with tags that indicate if a dish contains dairy/meat if it wasn't already obvious. They also have several non-dairy milk options for coffee and smoothies (almond, soy and something called "oat water" that I did not try but is basically unblended oat milk) Rosa also asked what time I would be up for breakfast the next day and had the chef prepare me a special potato soup which was delicious! We went here for lunch one day as well and the pizza chef made me a custom pizza with no cheese. I wanted pesto and learned it has cheese in it, but he made me a special batch that didn't! Cool Fever Cafe: has non-dairy milk options, a dairy -free strawberry sorbet and ice pops (these were the only vegan dessert options on the whole resort I believe). The barista here also remembered that I like vanilla in my iced latte which was a nice touch! Room Service menu: We ordered breakfast to the room one morning- The International Breakfast is fully vegan if you ask to sub for a non-dairy milk (the butter for toast comes on the side). We also asked for some avocado on the side for the toast and it was very fresh! Miraflores Cevicheria: The chips with pico de gallo and guac were delicious (they have this available at the breakfast/lunch buffet as well) and the Veggie Ceviche made with cauliflower was one of the biggest food highlights for me! I also got the mushroom tacos which were pretty tasty. they also had Veggie empanadas which I wish I had tried! Huzur Mediterranean: They have a couscous taboule dish that was decent for a light snack but not my fave! Compton St Pub (open for lunch and dinner): We ate here on our last day before heading the airport and I got the Veggie Burger with fries- comes with a classic soy protein patty) - they gave some grilled veggies on the side as well! Dinner: Sospiro Italian: The vegan Mushroom Lasagna made with pasta, eggplant and other veggies was the dinner highlight for me (we ate here twice and I got it both times). They also have a Moroccan salad for an appetizer which was decent, but they also have a appetizer buffet set up each night with an assortment of bread, flavour-infused oils, sauces and veggies so the second time I opted to make myself some bruschetta-style bites to start Sieshin Asian: We decided to ask to speak to the chef here as outside of being vegan, I also don't like bell peppers and all listed vegan option contained them. Chef Francis was AMAZING (we ended up seeing him around at other the other restaurants too) and made me a rice/ veggie Teriyaki stir fry for a main and veggie sushi rolls with cucumber, carrot, and avocado (I believe it typically comes with a spicy mayo sauce but he removed it and I drizzled some teriyaki that they provide for the table instead). The rice for the rolls was bit overcooked but otherwise really yummy! Chez Rose French: This was the only place we did not try because the menu didn't have any listed vegan options and some other guests told us it wasn't their favourite. Final Tips: Overall, pretty much every menu has options that you don't need any modifications to be made vegan and even specifically say 'vegan' in the name/descrition. When trying to branch out from these options or trying to make modifications to menu items in general, servers informed us that most of the dishes are batch made in advance, make it pretty hard to omit ingredients. If you ask to speak to the chef directly, this is where you can usually get something custom and special made :) Make sure you are clear and ask the right questions (i.e. No cheese, No egg, no dairy or "leche" etc). Obviously there is a language barrier with some staff than others, but every single person I spoke too really took the time to understand my requests and be transparent with what accommodations could be made. Do not feel defeated and afraid to ask because I was pleasantly surprised on many occasions with how much they were able to do! Hope this helps shed some light and give peace of mind to my fellow vegans who want re-assurance that this resort in fact is very accommodating to us! Happy travels!

40th bday group vaca

laurytexas on Jun 15, 2024

I will expand on my experience during the trip. We are currently at the hotel. We arrived a Friday late afternoon. CHECK-IN: Day 1 check-in process easy BUT we were given a room that was going under minor maintenance and wasn’t ready by check-in time. When we walked in, the worker was in there. Luckily the bell boy was with us and phoned the front desk. It took a few minutes for them to figure it out but we eventually got a room and they did upgrade us for the inconvenience. BEACH AND POOOL: We arrived around 5pm and decided to go the Sport Pun to grab some food. We had been traveling since 5am and no lunch. By the time we were done eating and changed (we are a group of 11 people), we headed to the beach around 6:45pm. As soon as we got in the water the lifeguard announced the beach was closed. It was 7pm and still day light. We literally got wet and we were summoned to get out. Really? We headed to the pool and of course they were closed as well. POOLS AND BEACH CLOSE AT 7PM. For being an Adults only resort I think this is ridiculous. No night swimming? FOOD: Sports bar- everything was good. Habachi- it was ok MUSIC: Live music on the terrace by the restaurant was a nice touch. They played around 8pm, took a break during the show, and played again around 10pm. ROOMS: Room floors don’t appear to be the cleanest. Safe- no working Espresso coffee maker (pods) making luck warm coffee. AC- cold, no problem Bed- good, no problem Shower- 2 rain showers, awesome Day 2- unfortunate that we have to listen construction noise considering it is the weekend. It seems they are expanding the hotel and building a few more rows of room blocks. I’m surprised they do not stop construction on the weekends to allow a more relaxing experience.

Marriage anniversary /Best vacation ??

Companion11987794313 (New York City, New York) on Jun 13, 2024

We were at live aqua for our marriage anniversary. The resort is absolutely beautiful, very tranquil and relaxing. Everyone we’ve encountered on our stay was the absolute sweetest people. First and foremost most can’t say enough about Luis Miguel whom went above and beyond to make us feel as comfortable as he possibly could. He made sure we had proper transportation everywhere knowing I was pregnant. He also took time and decorated our room beautifully on our anniversary. Can’t say enough good things about him. Even on his day off he reached out to make sure we were good or if we needed something. The most professional and overall good human you would meet.(Hi Luis from Joseph and Marina and we can’t thank you enough for everything you’ve done). The hostesses at the restaurant were nothing less than being amazing. Yuleisy and Diana did everything they could and more to make sure we were comfortable. Yuleisy had the chef make us special dishes that weren’t even on the menu. The ladies made sure everything I ate was both good for me and my baby. We just want to say thank you to everyone who helped us while we were on this amazing trip. And can’t wait for the family side to be done so we can come back with our baby. ??????

Relaxing W Amazing Staff but Better Food Needed

BxGirlatHeart (New York City, New York) on Jun 12, 2024

I would agree with most of the reviews and add the following: - staff and service is great. You honestly can’t beat it. They want to ensure guest are happy overall so anything they can do to accommodate the guest, they will. Always with a smile. I appreciate that. - the property is stunning, literally. The grounds are so well maintained and just lush and beautiful. We stayed in building 6 with swim up pool. It was like being in our own little oasis. Close to the beach, Molten brown toiletries, room cleaned well daily, btw the double rainfall shower AMAZING!!!!! - beach and water were great, never an issue getting a chair, we were in aqua club so we had beverage and food service on the beach. Worth it: enjoyed cabana each day without issue Areas of improvement Food: honestly they need an entire overall. The only place I would recommend is wonder pool for food. We tried each of the restaurants and it was so disappointing. The food lacked flavor and/or was drenched in sauces. The Buffet breakfast was good with many options. I kept it simple w an omelette most mornings. Room service food came cold for both breakfast and dinner. It was really unfortunate as if the food was even slightly better, I would she given the place 4 stars. It did impact the overall experience when you don’t find an enjoyable decent meal. Drinks: We had VIP access which is suppose to come w a premium bar, I would say they had good selection of some premium alcohol however their wine and champagne selection needs to be improved. Overall, if food improved we would come back but I would junk that’s a long shot.
