We loved the Grand Palladium!

Aboat911 (Schererville, Indiana) on Apr 27, 2024

Loved the resort and had a wonderful stay for a destination wedding !! My wife and I were only here a few days and we did get a reservation at the Dorado steakhouse. Our server Francisco, was an exceptionally kind to us and our steaks were perfect. Bringing them to our table, he made sure that they were done correctly and the taste was to our satisfaction!! We would definitely return to the Grand Palladium, hopefully able to stay longer.

Excellent service

Francisco was the best waiter I’ve ever met. Very through and hospitable. He is at the El Dorado steakhouse and they are lucky to have him.

Paradise

Jennilou28 on Apr 27, 2024

Wow, what an amazing place this is. Absolute paradise, from arriving at the lobby, which each have their own unique statement piece, to the sheer size of the pools, eatery options and beach setting this is just a lovely place to retreat to for a holiday. We were lucky enough to stay in the colonial but use the full 4 hotels on the complex (including adult only) as an upgrade. Monse on concierge was so helpful in booking our restaurants and we never struggled to get a table, just be flexible with time and organised with booking in advance. The buffet restaurants are nice, clean and offer a great range of choices plus show cooking, the a la carte options are really nice. We loved the teppenyaki, thanks to Efrain for making the show cooking so entertaining. The Thai restaurant was delicious. La Boheme in the TRS was an insanely tasty 4 courses but our favourite was the Helios, breakfast, lunch and evening meal was always top standard, fresh and such a nice environment. Jessica and Anahi were great hostesses, always attentive, whilst Manuel and Edwin remembered we loved our pot of English tea and never let us go longer than 5 minutes without a top up of drinks. Jose the evening waiter at Helios was such a nice man, hardworking and gave us a perfect anniversary evening. The sports centre at this hotel is incredible. The football pitches, tennis courts, Padel court and beach volleyball are top standard set ups and the availability is so easy. Shout-out to Gael there who kept the set up and hiring of equipment going and was always willing to join in with you. Finally the POP team. Across all the hotels they work so hard to entertain you day and night but special shout-out to the TRS pop team who encouraged us to join in pilates, yoga, bartending, aqua aerobics, casino night and so much more. Edgar, Emi and Monse were so lovely but special thanks to Mafa who was so beautiful inside and out, brought so much energy to the hotel and was such a friendly face to see throughout the holiday. The evening entertainment was non stop, from discos to rock shows there was something for everyone to enjoy. The flamingos outside the lobby, all the other nature and animals round the complex, the cenote, swimming pools, rooms, restaurants.. everything made this a memorable holiday and we can't wait to be able to come back.

The buffet

Nostor Quinones was so so nice and welcoming. The food was pretty good and there are many selections. He made sure we all had water in our cups. Well mannered and respectful.

Horrible Vacation

Mariela D on Apr 24, 2024

Last week I was with my family at the Grand Palladium resort in Mexico. For 12 years, we have been going to various resorts in the Riviera Maya, and for the first time, we are so disappointed with this resort. I'll start with the awful food in the restaurants. I won't even mention that the food is tasteless and lacks any variety. It's terribly annoying to always wait in line to enter the buffet three times a day, especially considering that there were non-operational restaurants. I can't say the food was okay in the à la carte restaurants either, although it was slightly better, especially in the Argentine à la carte La Paisana. We waited two hours for our order, and when the food arrived, it was barely edible. Moving on to the pool, which is very deep and can't be used normally. The beach is very small with insufficient lounge chairs. The room was also in poor condition; the sofa was torn, and obviously, the dust hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Ants were walking around the sink and toilet in the evening. My son even refused to use the toilet in the evening. They charged us an environmental tax. Carlos, the staff member at the reception when we checked in, informed us about it, and my husband paid it. When we were leaving, the same Carlos told us we had to pay it again. My husband explained that we had already paid, but Carlos insisted that we hadn't. We paid the tax again. After leaving, we received emails stating that we had paid twice. One email was dated April 12th, and the other was dated April 19th, the day we left the resort. Not only did they ruin our vacation, but the staff also lied. In our opinion, the main problem stems from the management. We do not recommend anyone to spend their money on this resort. It's not worth it. A copy of my review will be sent to the headquarters in Spain.
