Big resort, had a really good time. Transportation around was handy because of busses. Good food. Would highly recommend

Large sprawling resort - lots of wildlife - great pool - nice beach - efficient bars - terrible system for booking restaurants - room a bit tired

Very large hotel with good facilities and beautiful grounds. A number of restaurants but not easy to book on the App and if more than one room there was a queue to book at the Concierge desk. Food was great with wide choice in the buffet. Preferred the outdoor one for breakfast and lunch as setting much nicer. Beach and sea were a real disappointment as a lot of seaweed which felt the hotel could have cleared. Most staff very friendly but not the warmest of welcomes on arrival.

We didn’t know what to expect not having been to the Caribbean before but we were pleasantly surprised! There was a niggle or two but overall it was a really lovely relaxed stay. We booked the deluxe garden view room but were disappointed with this aspect as the room was tired and needed a refurb. I had read about this though so it wasn’t a surprise. If we come here again we now know to upgrade. The staff were all great. Friendly and helpful. The grounds are extensive and you have the option to take a buggy but sometimes they aren’t available and there can be quite a wait. The buffet (La Hacienda) was really good. I had read reviews that it wasn’t great and you should dine in the à la cartes but we ate in the buffet all except one night and the à la cartes are hard to book. We dined in Portofino. The food was great but I would say it wasn’t hot. Also the restaurant was only half full so the fact you have to book so early is a bit of a con. We saw the same with the other à la Carte’s. They were only half full so don’t understand what you can’t get a table? The hotel entertainment, for us, was 100%. It’s clear the team work really hard to put on the amazing shows in the evening. All staff - bar, waiters, cleaners, bellboys, chefs, groundsmen, maintenance, reception, concierge are friendly and helpful. We felt very safe here which is a real positive. It was only the room that let it down. Would I recommend? Yes definitely but go for a better room.

Everything about this resort was excellent. I loved the look and beautiful grounds. My room was clean and spacious. The pool was great and the beach was nice with swimmable water when it wasn’t very windy. The best part of this resort for me was the nightly entertainment. As a solo traveler, they do a great job with a variety of nightly entertainment in a centrally location at the resort that does a really good job of getting guest together. The sports bar was great, and so was Churchills, the cocktail bar. Food in Mexico I always find just ok, but The à la cart restaurants were good. The majority of the pool was too deep for me to stand, which I found strange, so I was forced to purchase an expensive floaty so I could enjoy the pool more. I highly recommend this resort!
