A beautiful resort! Conveniently located just steps from the main tourist district and the ferry service to Cozumel. Fun evening entertainment, friendly and efficient staff. Beautiful pools and plenty of seating for sun or shade. The food was delicious! (This was just the included food items. We felt no need to upgrade from the main menus offered.) Our room was spacious (garden view), our bed and pillows provided the best comfort I’ve experienced at a hotel, and there is even a hammock on the balcony. Housekeeping kept our room tidy and the fridge and snacks stocked daily. The only drawback was the beach. The ocean floor was rocky and difficult to wade in without stepping on large rocks that are difficult to see and avoid. As a result, we spent little time in the water. Also, the beach is rather narrow and congested, so we never felt compelled to take any long strolls down the beach (which I usually do daily on a beach vacation)

We stayed at the Hilton in Playa Del Carmen for two weeks in April and had ourselves a very nice time. This was not our first time staying at the Hilton. In fact we started coming here back when this hotel was The Royal. The location is perfect if you are a scuba diver as there are many good scuba shops in the area. Also, you are just a couple of minutes walk from Fifth Avenue which has the shops and nightlife we enjoy. So for us, it gets top marks for location. The hotel atmosphere is whatever you want. If you enjoy lively music and a foam party then the main pool is for you. If you prefer a quiet location where you can enjoy reading a book then there's another location with a pool for that. We tended to enjoy the swim up bar and the lively music but on occasion we'd go for the tranquil area. They also have cabanas on the beach which are perfect for relaxing with a cool drink. The rooms are very comfortable and somewhat spacious. They are clean and serviced daily “Thanks Patricia for doing a great job”. The balconies have chairs and hammocks and are great for morning coffee and reading the news. The big elephant in the room is the two person bathtub. I don't think they are used very often and I think the space taken up by them could be put to better use. The food has always been good and in many cases very good. We always have dinner at the a la carte restaurants and our breakfast at the buffet. Reservations are easy to make and if you forget you will still probably get a table. Thank you to Rubin, Danial, and Jorge for making our dinning experiences so memorable. Also, I did want to mention a couple of things regarding the menus. Unfortunately, they haven't changed since our last visit and I was hoping they would be different on this trip. It certainly didn't ruin anything for us and I actually tried a few things that I normally wouldn't have ordered. Two things that I would like to see change back to how they were in the past are 1. The rack of lamb on the dinner menu at no additional cost and 2. Smoked salmon at the breakfast buffet “I think it's only available at the a la carte breakfast now”. I'm sure all businesses are looking for ways to keep costs down but these are two of my favorites unfortunately. I sincerely think the real jewel of this Hotel is the service that is provided by the staff. They are mostly all very professional and seem genuinely happy to assist you. Most of the staff speak English well which is very helpful to me as I am not fluent in Spanish. You don't see this kind of dedication everywhere and I think it's one of the main reasons why we continue to return. As for value, I can only speak for myself. Everyone has different ideas about what contributes to good value. I think this resort offers good value on the things that I enjoy and I will likely return again in the future.

Loved this resort! The food was AMAZING. Entertainment was phenomenal. Job was so kind and fun on the entertainment team. Resort was clean and pretty! The beach is open to the public so it gets crowded but it’s a fun atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

This was our 3rd stay at the Hilton Playa Del Carmen and again we were met with exceptional service as always. From the moment we arrived and Rojelio kindly brought or bags to our room to the moment we left, the staff there are AMAZING!! Samantha assisted us on Palm Sunday when we were looking for a nearby church, and subsequently checked in multiple times over the course of our stay to ensure our needs were met. Ezekiel was our go-to bartender at the swim-up bar and was fun, friendly and our drinks were made to perfection!! Yuri, was our housekeeper, and while we didn’t see her, our room was in pristine condition each morning when we got back from the gym. We only went to one of the fitness classes at the pool but Hilario’s energy and humor made the bike class fun and a great workout! While this is only a few of the staff who made our trip special, it’s the staff and the service at the Hilton that make it a place to go back! The grounds and the beach are spotless and that is thanks to the staff. Anything you could want in a restaurant they are quick to accommodate your needs as well. The location of this resort is the other reason we absolutely love it!! Just steps away from 5th Ave and you can enjoy the activity of downtown day and night. We walk to local brewery, Chela de playa, and have enjoyed many day and evening trips out thanks to the amazing location of this resort. Can’t wait to come back next year!!

My fiancé and I stayed at this Hilton the first week of April. We loved our stay. It was quiet and relaxing. We opted for Chef’s Plate one evening where we had a delicious gourmet dinner. Omar and René made the experience amazing and the sommelier, Rigoberto, made a wonderful wine recommendation. It was perfect match with our food. Lunch at Pelican by the beach was always good and Ruben took good care of us. Housekeeping was top notch. Overall the resort is very clean. You are steps away from 5th avenue in Playa del Carmen and a short walk to the Ferry to Cozumel. There is plenty to do off the resort and we felt safe.
