Planned vacation among friends who belong to a cultural studies group in Canada, everything has been very nice, the unique experience and people had always spoken to us but nothing like being able to get to know the true Cuban flavor and the kindness of its beautiful people. You can find many things in the hotel and its surroundings, beautiful beach and pools, Creole food and international cuisine, with very good kitchen staff. We leave our impression here and our gratitude to all the service and care staff for every day that made us feel like family. Hugs from everyone to Jeaison in the buffet restaurant for the attention and care given to our group, a service of excellence and quality. Grateful with lots of love and joy.

Vacations in Varadero with Bella Vista

In my humble opinion, the hotel is incredible, it is a wonderful building with splendid views. In reality there are some shortcomings but nothing out of this world you will be able to see in some of the photos we took. We loved the typical Cuban gala celebration. Our room was always clean thanks to the kindness of the service staff. As for the entertainment, I would have liked it to extend into nighttime hours. The Snack bar services, although they were not the best, the attention was always the best. I can say that the food theme was lacking some variety of products but nothing that affected the impression or enjoyment. The only thing I can highlight as negative about the buffet is the overwhelming heat in the space. The resort has a fantastic location and without a doubt the best beach you can visit in the world, blue and crystalline waters that make you think about life. We left a warm greeting to our waiter friend Jaison at the Buffet restaurant, which was without a doubt the best service I received in this facility. We will see each other again soon for the Christmas celebration and I hope that the small details that were pending will be answered upon my return. I love Varadero, we love Cuba and I love its people.

Only go if the price is cheap and must get prestige

I have always loved going to varadero. This trip has changed my mind. I felt like no one has given there real experience. So here is mine. I went with sunwing and online it said I would get a welcome drink, Robe,slippers and didn't receive any of it. The fridge only had water. I thought maybe some beers but no.There was no eggs,beef,coke/pop,lemon.iceThey were painting the room across from us and the smell of paint thinner was so strong I had to turn my ac off and open the windows which have no mesh screens. I was told no to worry and to open our door. Our door would not always lock and could be opened at any time. I was told to insert the card to lock my door which worked which was a first for me. The pool were not maintaining properly. They were always dirty and green on the side walls. Random people would come to our swim up and sit in our area. We even had our stuff on the chairs and they would move it. The entertainment in point of view did nothing to get people motivated. All around the resort had alot of employees just seem like they were there just there. Every other resort I would talk to many employees because they cared. There was not to many here. I got stuck in the elevator 2 times. One was for about an hour with around 15 people and some started to panic. From everyone there I had to reassure them as I told them I got stuck the previous day. That being said, the workers have no idea what to do in that situation. I had been told alot of people were getting stuck. Very dangerous as our elevator went all the way down past the lobby floor. With the elevator constantly being under service it is not a good place for someone who has mobility issues as we had. We had to eat downstairs because they could not do stairs.We had people come and clean there feet from the beach in the pool. I even saw one lady take her daughter to go pee in the pool and leave..And to add the cherry on top we saw a snake outside our swim up room. Had to call security to get it removed. They had no idea how to do it. I had to take charge and help them remove it.we made the best out it.There was never toilet paper in main lobby washroom. Snack bar was very slow as they were under staffed. Almost waited 1 hour for a meal.I strongly recommend getting in touch with these 3 people as they were the only few people who tried to make us feel welcome. They will bend over backwards to make your day. Lizzette from the buffet was great. She needs a rise. Ernesto from the beach always got me some drinks for me and my family and would always help me out. I also saw him in the lobby for a bit as he said he was filling for someone and he was helping out. Last but not thr least the whole staff in the 11 floor they were the best. Overall management needs to step up and take some accountability. The employees can only do so much.

HORRIBLE! Other “good or great” reviews are fake.

I don’t even know where to start. I went to this resort in March 2018 when it was still opening up. It was a very, very nice resort at the time. However, we went a group of 20 people from August 22 to August 29. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at! I don’t know how a resort could erode so quickly. The food is atrocious. I have been to Cuba many times and it’s never been this bad. All we ate was rice and beans. I brought a pack of wraps (thank God I did) and all I ate for breakfast, lunch and dinner was ham, cheese, papaya and guava. They had no eggs (only powdered eggs). No juice, no milk, etc. It was either water or beer. The chicken had the funkiest texture and smell. The fish was decent at best. The hotel is falling apart. In our room we only had hot or extremely hot water. The door locks didn’t work on the majority of the other rooms in our group. In my brother’s room the toilet wasn’t working and had poop in it for DAYS. He asked them to fix it and it wasn’t fixed for DAYS. They finally moved him after SEVERAL DAYS. The safe wasn’t working in most room. They didn’t have beach towels most of the days we were there. We got there on Thursday and there were no towels. Friday at 9:00am I was waiting and managed to get 5 towels. We used 2 towels Friday and saved 3 towels for Saturday because the guy told us that there may not be towels on Saturday. We had to RATION towels. Oh ya, I had to leave a $150.00 USD deposit for the towels. In our rooms there were only 2 big towels for 4 people. No face towels, no hand towels. I have been to Cuba at least 15 times and this is the worst experience I have ever had anywhere not just in Cuba. I don’t know how Cuba is still afloat. I could go on but there’s no reason. I have nothing to gain from telling others to go or not to go to Cuba. However, you’ll be wasting your money if you go to Cuba. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else. It’s unfortunate because I love the Cuban people but I refuse to take my hard earned money and spend it on a vacation that is terrible. I will NEVER go back unless there is a drastic change for the better. The majority of decent to great reviews on trip advisor are either fake or bots.

The Worst experience in my life - Dirty hotel

The Worst experience in my life! Dirty Hotel, I am not a picky eater, and I usually don't give bad reviews but this place does not earn 1 star. They serve the same food almost every day, what they serve for lunch is what they’ll serve for dinner. NO INTERNET ONCE YOU ARE OUT OF YOUR DIRTY/Nasty// Filty/ SMELLY ROOM. THE SHEETS ON THE BEDS ARE FROM 1819, old and stained. I put a DONNOT DISTURB SIGN on my door, I came back the housekeeper went into my room and left me a note. The elevator was stuck for over an hour with 15 people including children inside of it with NO AC. No one cares about guesses, No customer service, one guy at the front desk was extremely rude, with a non-caring attitude Absolutely zero star!! The only good thing was the beach. BUT DO NOT pay extra money for rooms with ocean views, it's not really an ocean view. The pool was dirty, I wanted a drink they had no ice, no coke to make a Long Island iced tea. I was there for 7 days not once they had beach towels available. Dirty Rooms Dirty Bathroom Dirty shower Mold everywhere I got sick on my 3 days there. The activities, Drinks, and SERVICES there are socks.
