December 2025 Stay at the Meliá

It was an amazing hotel. The staff are amazing! David at the reception desk was amazing and so was the waiter Arian! The food is good, the beaches are beautiful, and the hotel is clean and fun. The pools and bars are also amazing. Good for families or couples, and lots to do for all ages.

I spent a week with my friends at the Hotel?Meliá?Internacional in Varadero, Cuba, and it was unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the sunny beaches and clear blue water welcomed us. The hotel’s rooms were clean and comfortable, with a view of the ocean that made every morning feel like a postcard. We ate delicious local food at the on-site restaurant and spent afternoons swimming and playing beach volleyball. The highlight was the warm welcome from our receptionists, Susan and Alicia they greeted us with smiles, helped us with our luggage, and gave us great tips about hidden spots in Varadero. Their friendly service made us feel at home right away. Thank you, Susan and Alicia, for making our stay so special. We’ll definitely come back next year and we plan to invite others to share this amazing experience too in our next trip together.

Excellent location, beach and service, this is the best of the hotels I have visited in Varadero. The service is very good, and in the level adults only the service is luxurious. We had a beautiful experience, they prepared a beautiful anniversary surprise for us. The concierges and the reception girls are very friendly. All employees always smiling
Staff mostly are not friendly

Not about the food but about the service. Even though the food can easily be improved by just cooking it differently. Not everything has to be done with Pork and beans. Coffee and tea can still be served after 11 in restaurants. I just returned from a four-day trip, and honestly, I am shocked by the way most of the staff treated us. Many of them were very rude. This may be because I am a visible minority and do not fit the typical Canadian profile. For example, the lady at the LEVEL reception was very rude and made me come back three times to request a late checkout. Each time, she told me she could not confirm it until the day of checkout because the room might be booked. On the day of checkout, I returned and was told that the room was indeed booked, but that I could stay for an additional two hours for an extra $60. She just kept me come back and beg for 3 days. I paid for the so-called LEVEL service, yet all I received was one hour of spa access and an ocean-view room. Coffee machine does not work in the room and no one wants to fix it. The so-called concierge, ~Juan, gave me the impression that I would not have to worry about anything because he would take care of everything for me. However, as soon as I paid him the tip, he never bothered to come back. The waiters at the front were mostly unfriendly and rude. Overall, I felt that many of the workers behaved like government employees—unwilling to be helpful, yet eager to receive tips. I still paid the tips everywhere in hope that the next time they see me they would change only in vain. The only friendly staff are some of the RUMBA restaurant and the cleaning lady for the 7th floor.
