We’ve just returned from a most enjoyable trip to Varadero, Cuba. From the moment you step off the bus you’re greeted by receptive and helpful reception staff. If you’re fortunate the chose the Level, you’ll have the outstanding and flawless service of people like Julio, Adrian, Eb, just to mention a few. Rooms are clean, tidy, comfortable and with gorgeous view of the ocean. Hospitality staff are polite, attentive and accommodating. Yamilla always had our room clean, tidy and stocked with toiletries. Food and drinks quality are quite good and though limited in choice you’ll never be dissatisfied. Eating at the Al la Carte is a treat. The Japanese is worthy of mention. Food is delicious and service entertaining and friendly. Ingrid at the Japanese, Greter and Angelica at the Level buffet went above and beyond to make dining there a treat. The main buffet is a welcomed place with acceptable food. Alicia and Penelope are inviting and make dining a memorable moment. At the Red bar you’ll meet Eylin who mixes a mean drink will have you coming back for more. If you enjoy sea bathing then the Varadero beach there is prestige and water crystal clean. Cuba can be welcomingly hot causing many trip to the pool bar for refreshing drinks served by Raul. Entertainment is flavoured with eclectic variety but always sprinkled with Cuban flavour. Malia International Resort is truly a gem reflecting the warmth of Cuban culture in a well manicured and immaculately maintained setting that’s conveniently located, welcoming, tastefully designed and a place to soak in the best of Cuba. If you enjoy genuine unabashed hospitality of a people whose sincerity is infectious, then Malia International Varadero is your destination.

We just got back from this resort in Varadero Cuba and want to let everyone know, although you get the first impression, beautiful and modern hotel, theres more to it then just that. Lets start by saying some of the staff don't care about how you feel and what you say, they will serve you and ask for a tip. How do you tip someone when you are disgusted eating dinner and a cockroach just walks on your table. Gross!! You go to the Burger place and there's no burgers just pork sandwiches and some kind of chicken and it sure doesn't look like chicken either with fries!! Had 2 episodes with them because i wanted just fries and they wont give to you unless you have the sandwich to go with it. They are not using real Eggs for breakfast, its powder and water mixed. If your going still, do yourself a favour go to dollar store and bring the plastic large cups as they are using baby cups for all drinks. This is certainly not a 5 star hotel. Lets continue, go to the beach and the umbrellas are all ripped and they fall over at times, almost hit my son as the wind blows them quickly away. Met a lady with her daughter and daughters 2 friends, they were there to celebrate their graduation gift given to them. They went on a Catamoran and comming back someone stoled the moms suitcase which had everyones passport and monies in that luggage ! She couldnt put in safe as it wasnt working properly and this is when they decide to do what they did. ( inside job thats for sure) poor lady had nothing and all Canadians were donating to this family to get temporary passports to come home. Do yourself a favour, no one deserves this as we work hard for our money and no one should ever have to go through this!!!!!!! THIS IS HONESTLY GODS TRUTH AND THERE WILL PROBABLY ME MANY MORE IF WE DON'T LET EVERYONE KNOW!!!

Love this hotel, the best one in all of Cuba. The rooms feel like you are in Mexico, and the location is great. Amazing entertainment, especially Félix. He was always filled with so much energy and was bilingual and many languages. He made our stay even better!

Had an unforgettable time at this resort. The staff were outstanding — especially at the Red Lobby Bar, where the service and vibe were top-notch. The food, hospitality, and overall service were consistently amazing. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Varadero! Special shout out to the staff. Kandy, Yaima, Palma, Sumi, Yadiel, Yandry, Damian, Jessica, and Michel??

Pros 20 minutes from airport great rooms,fantastic beach ,weather was awesome on our week, snack bar ( lia ) all the staff from cooks to servers all terrific grounds immaculate ,entertainment very good,pools awesome ,our maid 8th floor 8039 was the best she took care of a lot of things and we tipped her well for her kindness. CONS food was not up to par we paid 5 grand and at least was expecting a little bit more from this hotel but alas no. NO REAL EGGS TO CRACK JUST LIQUID SO ALWAYS OMELETTE , POTATOES VERY SLIM I ONLY SAW HASH BROWNS IN THE MORNING HAD TO WATCH FOR WHAT WE TOOK AS IT WAS A CRAP SHOOT. WE TALKED TO OTHERS FROM A 3 STAR RESORT AND PAYED MUCH LESS WITHOUT FOOD ISSUES.We have been to Cuba over 20 times and we know the food issues to be expected but why this hotel not producing what other cheaper hotel can deliver??? Melia unfortunately we will not be back to your hotel as you need to step up your food as it seams that its not a supply issue.
