OMG...The worst holiday experience I ever had. Rude front disc staff from Melia, very dirty place , in particular the canteen and dining hall , bedroom with cockroaches everywhere, . Furthermore, Sunwings misleaded us by recommending a day trip to Havana , where the tour gide treated us very bad and we didn't see any attractive ace in Havana other than few shops owned by her family maybe with unaccepted prices. I have to admit that the witness and cleaning staff are supper nice. I regret to book this holiday with Sunwings and staying in this hotel.

Welcome to the hell , Finally I’m in my dream holiday country….Cuba.. Arrangement started few months ago including, many consultations with friends and family regarding the best selection for the right hotel and holiday operator. Since I m in Canada they recommended Sunwings holiday operator as one of Cuba specialist . I booked the most expensive hotel option and prepared myself for the paradise in Varadero . Everything was accepted until we reached the hotel (which considered the best in the region) : Melia International Varadero Check in: waiting time was accepted (15 minutes) then you are with the front desk female staff, it’s very obvious that she had her professional training in Delta camp/Guantanamo Bay. very aggressive very good for misleading and professional cheating to give you the worst room from your booking category. As an example room 220 m from the lifts, leading to the hotel reception, or room facing another building and so on. In Cuba , the full board package is the only option to survive, as no decent restaurant, café, bar etc , so you should eat and drink in the hotel only. The open buffet is acceptable with fair variety of food , but without any test at all, also you have to accept sharing your meal with other Cockroaches, living permanently in the dining hall. Please see the attachments. We complained to the waitress and she took and immediate action and smashed few cockroaches around her , using a service tray beside her. Now the worst part of the holiday so far….ONE DAY TRIP TO HAVANA. This trip was recommended by Sunwings staff , as not fair to visit Cuba without seeing the capital ??/ We booked the day trip through Sunwings with tour company called Transgaviota and paid 100 $ each ,we take the bus at 8 30 AM , the tour guide lady was waiting for us, exactly the same like when you will go to the Army/military service in the first day…..OMG no merci…very aggressive lady with outstanding military training background her name: Elidia and its seems that her company gave her instruction to complete the military discipline for the group in one day. The main purpose for me was to buy cigars from the official recognized government shop. The above tour guide take the group only toa small cigar shop seems to be for her or her friends , where the prices are 3 times more than any duty free shop in the earth and despite the request from the group members she refused to take us to the official shops , furthermore she blackmailed us if we will go there she will leave us in Havana to return and we have to return back by taxi to our hotel (2 hours driving). The coffeeshop she forced us to use charging 5 dollars for 250 ml water…as an example…so you can imagine the commission she will get … Ref: Transgaviota Bus no: 2836 Finally I would like to give a short statement about Havana …..Totally destroyed city and out of the world. This was the worst holiday experience I ever had…. Special advise for the room: DONT TRY TO LOOK UNDER YOUR BED... Sunwings and Melia …and Elidia…shame on you.

My wedding was in Melia Inteternacional. We had amazing night, amazing party and amazing trip. Lil ( coordinator) did a great job. Totally the hotel is brand new and clean and staff are so kind and sociable. We enjoyed it so much and highly recommend it.

Staff was rude especially Mary at check in. Guest relations dept dont care about complaints. They just have the you are cuba now deal with it attitude.

An incredible experience and the best vacations that I and my partner have had in our life The hotel is very beautiful and large we were very impressed with the beauty and cleanliness of the room All the hotel workers are very good especially in the animation part and the gaze dancer with mirita we had a nice relationship. The shows are very beautiful. We loved the variety and quality of the dancers, especially those on Saturday. We look forward to returning very soon and reliving this wonderful opportunity
