Best Experience Ever

The level of hospitality at the hotel was truly commendable. The customer service team was consistently professional and attentive, greeting guests warmly and maintaining a friendly, welcoming atmosphere throughout our stay. The quality of the cuisine was excellent, offering a delightful dining experience. One area for potential improvement would be increased pest control measures to reduce mosquito presence. Overall, our experience was excellent, and should I have the opportunity to travel and stay at a hotel in the future, I would confidently select and recommend the Hotel International Varadero.
Already Planning Our Next Trip Back to Cuba!

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit Cuba from January 16–23, 2026, staying at Melia Internacional Varadero, and let me tell you — Cuba is definitely a place I will visit again. The hotel staff were incredibly generous, welcoming, and helpful. They truly made it feel like a home away from home. I especially want to highlight Dayana, the concierge, who speaks English fluently and made everything so much easier for us. She was always willing to help with a bright smile and assisted us with anything we needed during our stay. Yes, the food isn’t the greatest, but the amazing staff really make up for it. The day after we arrived, they took us to the pier for a buffet dinner with entertainment throughout the night, which was a wonderful experience. The beach was absolutely beautiful and one of the highlights of our trip. Unfortunately, flights from Canada are currently suspended until November because of the fuel crisis in Cuba, but as soon as everything gets back to normal, I’ll definitely be booking my next flight to return and enjoy the beautiful island and its amazing people once again.

Modern hotel, nice beach, good staff the SPA therapists are 5 stars. We really enjoyed our vacations.

I understand the country's situation and the difficult conditions—specifically, the lack of available resources. However, the customer is not to blame for this; after all, when paying for their stay, they do not receive a discount to compensate for unrendered services or for the scarcity of food and supplies. Moreover, the experience differs significantly between the high season and the low season. All too often, the reality falls short of what one would expect from a five-star establishment—and certainly from a chain like Meliá.

Whenever I get the chance to go back to Varadero I will sure go to Melia Intetmational Varadero. I highly recommend.
