Haçienda is the best

We will leave a fuller review of the resort later, but Haçienda is far and away the best restaurant on the resort with flavourful food and really excellent service. The new F and B manager, Angel is doing great things at MIV. It’s a set menu, with adaptations for dietary requirements, but the food is great; it’s noticeable that all the other clients, given that this is a very international resort, are Spanish. Good work Melia.

Red bar

Red bar has amazing service and better alcohol than the blue bar they actually have all kinds of alcohol not like the blue bar they run out of everything .Josue and Dianelis are amazing very friendly and provide amazing service. If you want to spend some time at the bar come to the red bar.

The Best In Varadero

A really good experience on my vacation time at the Meliã International Varadero! I got their service called The Level, and could not do it better. Good room, good restaurants and an excellent staff. They were all very kindness and always ready to make you felling home. To all the waiters to the restaurant The Level Como en Casa (Briel, Angelica, David and Yaniel) thank you so much for your attention and services. I’ll be back soon :)

Exceptional Cuba all-inclusive trip

First of all I've been to Cuba over 30 times I'm well aware of the standards for Cuba. I'd heard many good things of this hotel so I came for the first time this week. Out of all my trips, definitely the best hotel I've ever been to. I booked the Level ocean view adult only section. The excellent : The fact that the level adults has its own building brings a luxury flavor to the experience. Personalized check-in, own a la carte restaurant Mosaico where we had excellent meals, always very quiet compared to the main section of the hotel. Beach towels changed everyday directly at the room, being able to book any a la carte restaurants each day, refreshed mini bar every day. Rooms are gorgeous. Double rainfall shower, accent led lighting, super confortable beds, huge room, spectacular view from the room during the day and breathtaking sunsets (see pictures) We went to the Mosaico 2 nights, delicious shrimp meal, we went to the Italian Casa Nostra twice, the pizza was excellent. Went to the Tex Mex, was ordinary. Went to the Meson de Don Qijote restaurant in front of the hotel, the lobster was ok, but the experience itself was ordinary but it has nothing to do with the internacional Hotel. The bars : red sky bar and blue sky bar, copies of each other but in different colors ?? live music every night, absolutely amazing experience every night. Very good musicians, amazing view of the hotel grounds and sunset. Capri Bar (The Level adults section). The highest point of the hotel, breathtaking view of the hotel and ocean, but absolutely nothing happening there.. No music, no nothing. So you don't tend to stick around there. Quiet pool at the level is great, no loud music and beautiful grounds. Beach is gorgeous in Varadero of course and you have a section reserved for the Level Adults. Proximity of downtown Varadero, 1 km from The Beatles bar and Calle 62, very cool evenings spent there. Suggestions for improvement: For the Level Adults, distribute a pamphlet to the guests at arrival to inform of what is included with the Level. It's such a different and unique experience than the rest of the hotel, they should take advantage to brag about it and it would add another personalized touch to the experience, and it would clarify what you got for this upgrade, it's not clear at the beginning Add music to the Capri bar, maybe music videos like in the snack bar, maybe a bit more colored lighting ? Right now there's nothing, the place is extremely boring but it could be the best place of the hotel. Blue and red bars : there is no music once the shows end. Maybe put Cuban music, even internacional music even if it's not loud? Such a beautiful place but becomes completely dead around 9h45. Add more palapas at the level adults only section on the beach. At least 50% of time we didn't have a palapa when we arrived around 12, we had to go in the genaral section. It's not great considering the price difference. Would be fixed with 10 more palapas. Overall a memorable experience and ill be back for sure.

A Beautiful Hotel with Room for Service Improvement

The Good: The hotel is stunning — both the grounds and the beach are truly beautiful and well-maintained. If you have the chance, I highly recommend upgrading to The Level. The beach view from our room was simply breathtaking and made our stay extra special. A heartfelt thank you to Dayami from the Criollo restaurant during lunchtime — she was incredibly attentive, especially with our kids, and her warm service really stood out. We also loved the Yhi Spa, highly recommended, and again, the view is amazing! Areas for Improvement: • The overall service needs serious attention. Unfortunately, many staff members seemed disinterested or unwilling to assist, which detracted from the experience. • One afternoon, we left our towels briefly on a chair by the pool while grabbing a snack. When we returned, they were gone. Staff offered no help and instead blamed us, insisting it was our responsibility and even implying we might need to pay for them. We eventually recovered the towels on our own — disappointing to say the least. • Although there’s a clear policy against reserving pool chairs, it’s not enforced. Many loungers sit “claimed” with towels for hours with no one using them, making it frustrating to find a spot. • After upgrading to The Level, the room we were assigned wasn’t properly cleaned — there was a cleaning product left in the trash can and an open beer can on a table. Not the best first impression. • Lastly, our experience at the Italian restaurant was the worst of the trip. Service was extremely slow, and the staff had a poor attitude. It was the only time during our stay that we chose not to leave a tip.
